Q: I have a pretty basic office swivel chair, but the back of it is now very wobbly. It tilts to the right and back a bit most of the time, but can be rotated to stay upright like a normal chair back. I checked underneath the chair and it seems like there's nothing there to really secure the connection to the back. I've also tried tightening that knob on the bottom of the chair but it doesn't do anything. What can I do about this??: Office chairs are assembled. Here is what I would do: 1. Disassemble it. 2. Inspect pieces to see if anything is broken or stripped 3a. If all is fine, reassemble. The issue may have been resolved. 3b. If an item is broken, see if you can source a replacement part. Q: I have some oak dining room chairs and a few are getting wobbly. Should I take them apart and re-glue them or will that make it worse. What should I do?: No it wont make them worse. You can take them apart and re-glue them. I d use a polyurethane glue such as Pro-Bond or Gorilla glue. Disassemble the chairs; well coat the inside of the holes with glue, wet the dowels with plain water, re-assemble and clamp up until the glue cures. Check back after 20 - 30 minbutes, you may have to clean up with mineral spirits,glue that has bubbled out of the joint.

Q: Has anyone ever gotten a little dizzy when your dentist raises your chair back up ? It only lasts a few seconds but I was wondering what was causing it to happen :): It could be because you've been laying down, and when the chair is raised, you are suddenly getting more blood to your brain. Sometimes called a head-rush. Best thing to do is just stay upright in the chair for a minute or two before getting up and walking away. Since most of my work is out in the field, building something or fixing something, the rest of my time is at the computer or doing paper work. So this is the chair that I feel most comfortable in. It's not fancy, but I did get one that is comfortable to sit in. I do have other chairs and a sofa in the house, but except for watching a foot ball game or something like that, I don't use them very often. My dog has even claimed the sofa as his own LOL Just me I guess

Q: ok so i was sitting in my leather chair and a flea hopped onto my paper i was workin on then jumpe into the edg of the chair s a few mins i scratche my leg and he jumped next to me again, i freaked out thinking what if theyre living in my chair? i HATE fleas. i have a big room w/ alot of stuff on the floor, do you think this is why they might be here? bci havent vacumed in a while? what do i do about the chair? is ther some kind of sticky pad i could lay on there that might attract them? think theyre attracted to heat? is that right?: They won't just be living on the chair but in the carpet as well. You need to clear the floor and vacuum. I had trouble with fleas recently and had to spray the carpets, I used a natural based insect spray. If all else fails you may need to flea bomb the place. Get any pets treated as well. Supposedly fleas are attracted to light, if you put a lamp over a container of water they are supposed to jump towards the light and end up falling into the water. This isn't just a one off treatment, they lay eggs that are just waiting to hatch. Even if the room is locked up and not used for a while the flea eggs are supposed to survive until they sense movement.

Q: my 4 year old is in a high chair and will not dit any where else to eat her food!!what to do?: Try setting up a playdate for your daughter.. maybe if she has older cousins or neighborhood friends around her age and .. having them all sit at a table to eat. Sometimes having peer's her own age can help her adjust to new things. Taking her high chair away and putting it up in storage will not leave her a choice to sit in one. Try introducing her to a playschool toddler table and maybe having her sit there with you... while you eat a snack together.. Or try setting up her food at the family table when you serve her. Make it exciting... Maybe start off with coloring pictures at the family table before snack time, and inadvertantly bring her snack to her there ... Tell her that today is a very special day and you'll be having a special kinda snack/meal and decorate a chair at the family table for her to sit in.. like a princess chair.. Remember who's the child and who's the adult, children do what their parents allow them to do.

The use of a name for an object we see is a metaphor; thus different metaphors can be used to describe the same object. Truths are metaphors since we are using something else to describe an object (as opposed to simply waving the chair in air). The problem is that we have forgotten that names are in fact all metaphors, and take them to be truths. Nietzsche uses the example of a leaf, in that no one leaf is the same as the other, yet we call them all leaves. Thus they are both right; however society would see the person who calls the chair a bed as a liar, even though the truth itself doesn't exist since its simply a metaphor. I'm just sort of guessing this because we're just starting to read Nietzsche but hopefully this will be somewhat helpful.
