Q: I have a computer chair that has been re-covered with normal fabric similar to curtain fabric. Over time stains have appeared on the chair and they have got really dark now and wont come off, the material is a pale biscuit colour so the stains really stand out now. Q: bought a chair at auction,nice and clean, but has a terrible order,smells smokey and like it came from a bar.: Use some fabric spray. Spray it on there and it should help. Do it 2-3 times a day for a couple of days. I think it will help.

Q: I started with one chair. I sanded it first, then wiped, and let it dry, and then i put stain on. And I see a few spots that seems like I didn't sand very good. So, the color is uneven. plus the chair has a plywood part on a back of a seat, it turns pretty ugly. What should I do? Let it dry, and sand it again, then stain it? Or let it dry, put primer and paint over it? CAN I pait it?: Depending on the wood, it will absorb uneven. Pine is the worst for uneven absorbtion. You need Minwax Wood Conditioner. Put that on, let it dry and restain.

Q: i am painting the inside of my condo, and i had an idea, but i am not sure if it works or not. from our couch, directly across on the other wall is the tv, to the right of it is the stairwell to the 2nd floor, so you can see it from the couch. i was thinking of painting the wall that the TV is on (which is a small wall) an accent color, and then, having a chair rail go up the stairwell, with that same accent color from the chair rail to the floor. I was wondering if i need to get a thin chair rail to do this , so it doesnt look too wierd 6 - 8'' above the railing. does this even sound like an idea that could work? HELP!: Actually, what you are creating is a wainscotting and yes the idea will look lovely. Step back from the stair case, can you see through the railing? How large is the banister and railings? This will optically tell you the size of chair rail thickness you will need. If the banister is bulky, use a larger chair rail to balance it and so that visually it rises just above the height of the bannister to add bulk and so that you don't use a size that disappears against it. By using the same color up the stairs that you use on the TV wall, you are anchoring that end of the room which will give it more presence. Great project, sounds fun!

Q: I know it's polite for a man to help a lady into her chair (pull the chair out for her and help her push the chair in as she sits down) but is it also good manners for the man to help her OUTof the chair too?In a restaraunt, I saw a man get up from his seat, then walk over to his lady's seat and helped her pull the chair out. She remained seated until he began moving the chair. I watched very closely and she didn't appear to have any heath problems or injuries - she moved very freely and it was just like the sitting down routine, except in reverse. I never saw that before, and I thought it was rather weird. Reminded me of a queen waiting for her servant or something...!: It is just part of old-fashioned chivalry. I agree with Sue, I've seen (a few times) a man who still half-rises when a woman seats herself or gets up from a table. The gentlemen in Pretty Woman did it when they went out to the fancy dinner when she wore the black cocktail dress. Those men are a dying breed, but its refreshing to see every now and then.

Q: I want one that has a high back because I am tall, and importantly arm rests because my arms always feel uncomfortable in my current chair. I don't know why, maybe because of how the arm rests are shaped.I wouldnt mind if its leather.And I understand if you dont give a crap, but any information at all would be helpful.
