Q: I am about to buy a high chair for my baby. Any recommendations as to brand, model, etc? What features do you think are most important to have? Thank you!: We have the Fisher-Price Space Saver High Chair and have no complaints. We have a lot of baby gadgets around the house and didn't want a huge highchair to take space.

Q: I am thinking of adding a chair railing to my dining room and kitchen. We have an older home and I want to make it looker newer. Would adding the chair railing increase or decrease value of my house if I add it appraised? Will it make it look older?: Chair rail is more traditional, if you plan to sell the home soon this may be a logical investment however as most fads do this one will go away again. Also if you don't have crown molding chair rail may look odd.

Q: I am under the impression that I should just leave the place without bothering to put back chairs.If you were eating with friends and found chairs then you'd pull them over and don't usually put them back - okay I understand this because you are in a group.The problem becomes noticible if you pull a chair over from a table for two (swapping sides to face the window because you want to eat facing the window) and you eat by yourself.Is it then normal to put back your chair on the opposite side after you ate? :: I used to waitress and I always appreciated people who pushed their chairs back under the table when they left. It just makes it easier, especially if the restaurant is busy, so that other people and the waitresses to move around the room. Usually though if chairs are moved from a different side of the table people don't bother putting them back, which I can understand.

I tried to do this myself, but the chair was so old that it just made a huge mess when I tried to take off the existing upholstery - dust, fabric particles everywhere. Q: Here is a picture of it...I want to make it white somehow I just loved the shape and how comfy it is and can't afford a $250 chair so I decided to get a $25 chair from craigslist and cover it to make it white instead. I have covered chairs and stools and a bench before but nothing with a complex shape like this. It's the arm rests that throw me off. How would I do this? Thanks!: The only thing I can think to do with it's shape would be to make a slip cover for it. You usually can find templates in books at the library, or even online. Other than that, it's a tough call. Slip covers are nice, also, because if you're going for white, you'll be able to wash it (plus cover the arm rests)

If I'm sitting on it and it is serving its purpose, I do not think of the images of the chair as I am sitting on it. I also do not think of the molecules that make it up as I cannot control them nor do I have any need to. And real is all a frame of mind, after all.

Q: I hate this chair! There is only one control item--a lever, and I've never used it at all. Yet my chair is a different height every other week. This morning I found it so high, my feet don't touch the floor and I can't figure out how to lower it! I've moved the lever in and out and every which way, but the chair doesn't budge.: Some old chairs adjusted just by screwing in and out of the central column. Since yours has a lever, this is probably not the case. If you have never used the lever, then we can't be certain what it does, but on most I have used, pulling up on the lever while seated should allow the chair to lower. Pulling up while off the chair should allow the chair to rise. Some I have seen also let you push or pull the lever to lock or allow the back to tilt some. If you have tried this, the pneumatic cylinder may be shot. Likely just need a new chair.
