Q:How do trans/cis play a role in chair structres?I drew out Lindane (Cis 1,2,4,5, Trans 3,6, hexachlorocyclohexzne)The Carbons on the 1,2,4,5 are not the same. They alternate between Axial and Equatorial. What exactly does Cis and Trans mean in this structure. I cannot find a pattern that relates 'cis or trans' to the structure.: For a cyclic hydrocarbon like Lindane, cis and trans refer to the stereochemistry between adjacent carbons in a flat representation of the structure. Cis means the bonds (in this case, C-Cl bonds) go in the same direction, whereas trans means the other direction, when drawn flat. If you draw a hexagon, the C-Cl bonds at positions 1, 2, 4 and 5 will have the same type of bond (either a wedged or a hashed bond, whichever way you draw it, but they must be the same). The bonds at the 3 and 6 positions will be the other type. However, when you draw the hydrocarbon in chair conformation, the rules change a bit. Draw in the first C-Cl bond on the chair structure for carbon 1, and check what position it is in, axial or equatorial. Then go to the next carbon and see what the configuration is. If it is cis relative to carbon 1, draw the opposite type (if 1 is equatorial and 2 is cis to 1, draw 2 as axial). If it is trans, draw the same (if 2 is trans to 1 and 1 is equatorial, draw 2 as equatorial). Next, go to carbon 3 and check relative to carbon 2. Here, 3 is trans relative to 2, so draw it the same as 2. Now go to 4 and check relative to 3. In Lindane, 4 is trans to 3, so draw 4 the same as 3 again. Then for 5, it is cis to 4, so draw it the other way as you drew 4. Finally 6 is trans to 5, so draw the same as you drew to 5. If 1 is axial, then 2 is equatorial, 3 is equatorial, 4 is equatorial, 5 is axial, and 6 is axial.

Look for something ergonomic (not just the word ergonomic but true feature). Look for seat depth adjustment, independent backrest, lumbar support and what type of foam they use. Molded injection is more durable and lasts longer, cut foam is softer but doesn't hold up as well. As for price you are probably looking at $250+ but should get a lifetime warranty and plenty of use from the chair average 8 years.

Q:So, I want a new chair mainly for gaming. I'm trying to narrow it down to two different types. Either a normal office chair (But an expensive one. The one I want is $229).. or a chair meant specifically for gaming (The X rocker Pro).. built in speakers and everything.I'm kind of leaning to the gaming chair, cause my current office chair is comfy until I try and play TV games. Will it make it look older?: I can't possibly see adding a piece of wood on your wall can significantly increase the value of your home. I would not worry about the chair rail, and focus on other areas that give you more bang for your buck. Look at your landscaping, exterior, lighting, etc.

Q:A friend of mine has a chair we are trying to find some information on. Maybe someone on here knows what period it came from? Sorry, I don't have a picture, but maybe I can describe it well enough. The back is short...on an average height person the highest part of the back would come to your lower neck. It has, oddly, cherubs with what look like breasts on either side of the back...their faces are full front but their bodies are side views. it has lots of scroll leaf type carvings, and the seat is also carved. It's a solid dark wood. The most puzzling part is the legs...there are only two. one in front and one in back that are really just flat pieces of wood that go across from one side to the other, with a curved piece cut out at the bottom. Does anyone know anything about a chair like this?? I would be most grateful for some info! Q:i am hoping not to waste money on a not suitable high chair. what are everyones thoughts on high chairs: I saw the Ocean Wonders on sale at Toys R Us and nearly bought one. It's a good highchair from what I could see. :) We have a space saver one because we don't have room for a full-high-chair and wanted one we could use going out to eat if we decided to go out, or at family get togethers. It's held up wonderfully and I have no complaints about it. I like that it fits on normal chairs and converts to a booster as they get older. But sometimes I do wish we had a high-chair. It's really up to you what sort you want.
