Here is the only picture I could find without the name.: You have a good eye for nice furniture, they are called Fireside Chairs and were traditionally used in private gentleman's clubs and other places as well as private homes of the wealthy. Q: Hey, so I bought a wing chair from goodwill, I'm going to clean it, but the fabric is ugly, and I want to put new fabric on, how do I go about doing this?: Re-covering a wing chair is a job for an expert upholsterer so i wouldn't recommend it for a first project unless you're a great seamstress already. However, you can make a passable slipcover for it. Choose a soft but sturdy fabric in a solid cover or small or large print (no stripes, medium scale prints or plaids -- too hard to match patterns). You'll need about 6 yards, at least. One cheap way to get a lot of fabric is to buy bedsheets or fabric shower curtains. I made a nice chair slipcover years ago from two heavy cotton large tableclothes, 60 x 120 each that cost me less than $15 total. Wash and machine dry your fabric first to pre-shrink it. You can either make paper patterns by smoothing brown wrapping paper over the areas of the chair and cutting the pieces to fit OR just smooth the fabric over each area (the back, the seat cushion, the sides) and cutting the pieces with an inch on each side. Pin the pieces together over the chair with the good side of the fabric towards the chair and the seam edges out, then sew the seams together. Then turn the slipcover right side out and slip it over the chair. Sew woven tape ties or ribbons at the bottom edge near all 4 legs and tie them around the legs to keep the cover from riding up or slipping. If the seat cushion is removeable, make the cover to fit the chair with the cushion off, then make a separate slip cover for the seat cushion with a zipper or velcro to close one side. If you go to a fabric store, some of the pattern companies (like mcCalls, Butterick and Simplicity) have patterns that give instructions for making slipcovers like this -- your local library probably has upholstering guide books too. Q: i bought my daughter the harmony kids disney princess rocking chair and haven't been able to find a way to clean it.: Unfortunately for her, My daughter seems to have inherited the clumsy gene from her dad and I was very concerned about sturdiness and safety(sharp edges, lead paint, etc.) with this table and chair set. With all honesty, I was pleasantly surprised by the heartiness and thickness of the table and chair set. Unless your child is as strong and destructive as Hurricane Katrina, this set will stand up to much abuse and use. Q: I am currently a freshman in high school. I am third chair clarinet in band overall. This is pretty good, and I am expected to do well. The only thing is, I'm not expected to get first chair until my senior year because the 2nd chair is a sophomore (the first chair is moving soon so he's not an issue) and she's expected to get first chair each year. While I do realize being third chair as a freshman is quite good, I don't want to wait until I'm a senior to make first chair. I know that next year there will be a freshman who is quite good (she's in eighth grade and already knows her scales 3 octaves) and may pose as competition. However I don't want to have to think that she is competition. I want to be able to know each time that I will be first chair. I want the sophomore above me to not always expect to be first chair. So my question is, what can I do to ensure that I am first chair? For our auditions we have sight-reading and scales with tone being taken into account considerably.: After being in band for eight years and never striving for higher than third chair I can honestly say this. The only way to get to a higher chair is PRACTICE. A lot of practice. Take your instrument home every night and practice scales and the music your band is currently playing. If you're really dedicated I would suggest spending free time on weekends practicing as well. Find music that you aren't playing also and practice that. The more you know the better. Another pointer is a good one my band director gave me. Practice what you don't know not what you do know. A lot of people get bored with practice and decide to play something they're really good at to appease themselves. That's fine to take a break but jump right back into practicing the things you have difficulty with. Before you know it you'll be able to pull off things you didn't think were within your grasp with ease. Take it from someone who regrets not going beyond third chair. Practice is key. Good luck ;)

Q: I bought this chair but it's hard for me to push the wheels in. Any tips??: Just put a small block of wood on the caster and tap it with a hammer. It will drive the shank of the caster into the hole and it will set itself. You are done. You don't want to hit the plastic wheel directly with a metal hammer because it could just snap off. Consumer ALERT!! You could just buy this type of chair at a 2nd hand store, spend $5.00 on a caster,and have a $199 chair in your house. People are so stupid.
