Q: i recently replaced my spark plug wires on my 97' lincoln continental. i was wondering if i should get plug wire shielding for them also......thanx
If it needed wire shielding it would have come with it from the factory. If you get OEM style plug wires then it will come with shielding as well, hence OEM, if not then it didn't come with them and doesn't need them.
Q: I want to know what the definition is of a hot wire gauge.
A hot wire gage is a tool that tells you which wire(s) are hot meaning that they have electricity running through them. If you go to the tool store you would ask for a voltage detector. These are about the size of a pen. They light up and beep when the detect voltage. I highly recommend having one when doing electrical. There is nothing worse than grabbing a wire that you thought was powered off only to get lit up. Hope this helps.
Q: just need a little help to make right.just wiring an outlet from building to breaker box outside.. which way is the right way to wire it to a breaker then the box. Got the right breaker. Thanks
This doesn't sound like an easy answer without seeing it. For instance, how long is the wire run; is it entirely outside (if so, then you'll need either conduit for the full run, or UF-B rated wire buried below the freeze line with conduit where it exits the ground to the Service Panel). Outside receptacles should also be GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) protected. A single pole 20amp breaker should be used for a 12/3 wire. Load wire (black) goes into the screw of the breaker; the neutral (white) wire screws into the neutral bus bar of the service panel (breaker box), and the bare ground wire screws into the ground bus bar. Since these wires are interchangeable, it really doesn't matter which side of the panel you hook the neutral and ground wire to. BE CAREFUL!!!!! The main bus bars can still be hot (charged) even with the power turned off. If you ground yourself and touch the wrong thing, you'll be wondering what went wrong from the great beyond. Get a basic electricity book from Home Depot, or look on youtube. If you're not 100% confident, please leave this to a professional.
Q: need to know how to properly wire this amp in a truck
wow I have never heard of this amp until u mentioned it. the ratings seem good. ur best option would be to call sonic electronics have them send you a manual on how to wire this amp. they sell this amp. I mean u ask how to properly wire it. wire it to get power ? or to the woofers ? red wire + goes to your battery. black wire - goes to your ground (not your battery) to the frame of ur vehicle. then u need a blue wire, your remote this wire goes to ur stereo's remote wire it should be the same color or it will be marked. but if u do not know how to hook up an amplifier u should go to a professional shop due to the fact if u improperly hook ur amp up YOU CAN START A FIRE IN YOUR CAR.
Q: my husband is running wire to a hot tub, which uses a 220 plug. he is going to hook up a 30 amp breaker. what size wire should be used?
If he does not know he had better leave it to a pro or you will get fried or burn the place down! GEEZ!
Q: Hi I have a ceiling fan/light to put up but after taking down the original rose, I am now unsure how to wire the existing wiring into the ceiling fan the wiring is a s follows:block 1 Live empty, red, red, block 2 loop all empty, block 3 neutral empty, black, blackthe connections on the fan are live neutral and earthGrateful for any help
Call in a professional. Death only happens once in your lifetime. you don't want to go down in a shower of sparks.
Q: I have a 98 oldsmobile intrigue. Stock radio was taken out a while ago so all there is are wire hanging out. I don't know what I need, a wire connector or wire harness. Honestly don't know what's what. Also need to know how to use the wire connector/harness.and what goes to what
First off, if there are bare wires, meaning they are all loose and you see copper then you are in for a rough time. If they are still wired into the stock harness and connectors it will be much easier. If you have a stock harness and connectors, you should buy a vehicle harness adaptor that is correct for your car. Just about any stereo shop should be able to get them. This will plug into your stock harness and give you labeled wires to connect to the harness you get with the new head unit. Just splice them together and you should be good. Very straight forward. Just follow the instructions. If you have bare wire then you will need to get a chilton's or haynes manual for your car. There should be a wiring diagram that lists the color codes for the what wire is what. Use that to splice into the deck harness. This is the harder route because you don't have a lot of slack on the stock wires and its a headache to keep it all strait in your mind.
Q: hey im wiring up a headunit to my L300 van. The factory headunit wasnt there and im having trouble connecting which colour wires to the factory colour wires. if anyone knows which coulours go to what would be much appreciatedcheers.
Hi, okorder /
Q: I am getting these 2 CVR 12's 4 ohm dvc and i am wiring them for a 2 ohm load (parallel). When you run a wire from voice coil 1 positive to voice coil 2 positive, then to amp. and the same for negative, what is the wire that is connecting the voice coils? is it a power wire, ground wire, speaker wire? please help!
I'm not sure I understand what you are asking, but 2 4ohm DVC's can't be wired to 2 ohm, either 4ohm or 1 ohm, but you would need a 1 ohm stable amp to do that. As for the other part of the question, can you clarify?
Q: What are the range specs when testing resistance on your spark plug wires ?
6-12 ohms? Huh That person is WAY off. Stock type plug wires will have 3,000 to 5,000 ohms per 1 foot of wire Cheap parts store plug wires may have 4000-8000 ohms per 1 foot of wire High performance wires like MSD will have 40-50 ohms per 1 foot of wire
