Q: When wiring my subs from a positive to negative coil, do I use positive or negative speaker wire?: Speaker wire is speaker wire. There's no difference between positive and negative wire except the markings on the jacket. If you're talking about the bridge wire when wiring a dual voice coil subwoofer in series, just use any piece of wire that's the same gauge as the wires between the other subwoofer terminals and the box terminals.

Q: I want to connect one of my rear sony speakers along the baseboard to my receiver. The specs say that the wire comes with 4 terminal blocks, with 4 connections on each terminal. My question is what will connect to what? Will the speaker attach the the flat wire cable that will attach to the original speaker cable which will connect to the receiver? It will be much appreciated.: You will end up using a combination of regular speaker wire and the flat wire. Run the flat wire along the baseboard. The ends of the flat wire should go as close to the receiver and speakers as it will reach. Attach the terminal blocks to the flat wire. Connect the receiver's right and left rear speaker outputs to the terminal block at the receiver end of the flat cable using two short lengths of two conductor speaker wire. Then do the same thing at the speaker end of the flat wire. Since the flat wire cannot connect directly to the receiver or speakers, you need to use regular speaker wire to connect the flat wire to the equipment at each end. Since the flat wire is four conductors, it can carry both the right and left rear speaker signal at the same time.

Q: Phone wire outside was old is anybody done that, do it your self put a new wire on?, Just curious to know..: anything after the demarcation (demarc) is your problem, anything on the telco side of the demarc is the local telco's problem. on your side, you can basically do what ever you want, but if you do it wrong, the telco has the right and OBLIGATION to disconnect your service. The white wire goes to W/B... The green wire goes to G... and the blue wire goes to Y1... But if your sure that your old thermostat was wired the way you say it was then the red wire goes to G...the white wire goes to Rc with a jumper wire to Rh... the green wire goes to W/B... and the blue wire goes to Y1...

Q: I recently bought a stereo for my truck. What is a good average gage for a ground wire? Speaker wire? Power wire? Last but not least a speaker control (remote) wire? I am running 1000+ watts With an Alpine 4 channel and a Diamond Audio Sub amp, not some cheap Sony, Jensen, Audiobahn or the like. Also, what is a hard wire installation?: Hard wire means it's not just plugged in. eg. using the cigarette lighter but instead is permanently wired in. All you need to do is wire the lights ground wire to any ground wire under the dash eg. ignition ground or radio ground ( wire will be black ) or directly to a screw that goes into any metal part of the chassis and wire the lights positive wire to either the accessory wire from your ignition (lights come on when car is on) or a constant power wire eg. radio power wire and wire in a toggle switch so you can turn the lights on or off at will.

Q: When wiring an aftermarket car stereo, do you always match color to like color? Also do you have to use every wire from the wire harness?: Assuming the head unit follows the standard color code (there are some cheap Chinese import units that don't) then you should match the head unit wire colors to the harness wire colors. There are a few extra rules, though: -If the harness has a blue wire, and the head unit only has blue/white (no blue), then the blue harness wire should be connected to the blue/white head unit wire. If the harness has a blue/white AND a blue wire, then both of them should be connected to the head unit's blue/white wire. Similarly, if the head unit has only a blue wire and no blue/white, then it should be connected to the blue and the blue/white wires in the harness. -Orange and orange/white can be treated as interchangeable; ie, an orange/white head unit wire can be connected to an orange harness wire, and vice-versa. (If the harness has both an orange and orange/white, though, don't combine them--just use one or the other with the head unit). -Some harnesses have a black/white wire; this can usually be combined with the black ground wire. -Brown and orange/black wires in harnesses should be taped off individually and not connected to anything. -Some harnesses don't have a black ground wire. In this case, the black wire from the head unit will need to be grounded somewhere else. There will usually be wires left over. Make sure each one is insulated so it can't cause a short or contact another wire.
