- Q:I been having chargeing problems, and I found a tan with black stripe wire in wire harness by the alternator and I cant fig out where it goes. it has a factory conn. on it with a 3/8 diam. hole in it
- okorder ually marked on the sheathing of the wire in gauge size or ohm rating. The fusible link could also be a fuse in some newer models and you can install an inline weatherproof fuseholder rather than fusible wire....just make sure the fuse is the appropriate one for the size wiring of the circuit.
- Q:In the ceiling is one black, one white and a ground. How do I connect a new ceiling fan to these two wires? The ceiling fan has black wire, white wire, a blue wire and a green wire. We don't have green in the ceiling nor do we have a ground...knob and tube perhaps? So, can we connect this fan or not? Thanks!
- balck to black and white to white...the green wire is the ground wire and the blue wire is for the lights if your fan has lights...hook the blue wire to the black to get power for lights
- Q:1994 crown vic but it seemed like only 3 or 4 wires matched up exactly and this one wire was way to short so i had to route it the best way i could the guy said it was the right set of wires but the car runs way better then it did just wondering should i change couple of wires around to make it fit or just leave it what does crossing the wires mean
- Are the short wires touching any hot parts(exhaust manifolds)? If not, you'll be fine. There is a chance you used the wrong length wire for a few cylinders but as long as shes running fine and the wires don't touch hot parts you should be safe.Crossing the wires to me means running cyl 1 wire to cyl 5, this would cause your engine to misfire and idle really rough.
- Q:My computer kept switching all the time when ever I was playing a game. So I had alook in my computer and a wire I bought to extend the CPU wire. The extended wire had burnt so bad that the wire was showing out of the insulting. Will this effect my computer in any way because it was working fine and I shut it down before I took the wire out does it matter that my psu only has a 4 pin for CPU and my motherboard has a 8pin?
- Buy a replacement cable. This has probably happened because one of the connectors is loose which would cause it to get hot because it has a lot of power flowing through it. Hopefully it hasn't damaged the pins on the motherboard with the heat, I've seen motherboards wrecked that way.
- Q:What do you use to seal up the hole in the OUTSIDE wall where the cable TV and telephone wires and electrical wires all go thru? I want to replace my telephone wire coming in to the house, because I have DSL and it is really slow. I figured it couldn't hurt to replace the 45 year old wire coming in! :D I'm gonna use the best wire I can find (ANY SUGGESTIONS on what kinda wire to get? :D) to go from the telephone box outside to the DSL jack, but I need to no what to use to seal up the outside hole, when I rip out whatever is plugging it up now! :DThanks! ~Cindy! :D
- Depending on the size of the hole, you should be able to fill it with silicone sealer. If it's brick you will need to get the mortar type. If it's a big hole you may need a lot more repair than what we can go over here.
- Q:I just bought a set of performance sparkplug wires for my 2001 Chevy Cavalier. I went to install them and my engine is now misfiring like one of the wires in not connected. I have made sure all of the wires are on tight and in place. The wires did not come numbered so i just put them on according to size. What could be the problem???
- It sounds like you may have installed the wires out of order. On your car the firing order is 1-3-4-2; standing at the front of the car the cylinder count is from passenger side to driver side (#1 is passenger; then 2-3-4.) Make sure your #1 wire is coming off the #1 terminal on the coil pack, then #3 wire on the second terminal, #4 on the third, and #2 wire on the last one. If that doesn't do it, than you may have bad wires. Check with your mechanic.
- Q:like can u use home power wire that is 4 gauge rather then getting the car power wire
- Wire is wire but stranded wire is better than solid which is generally used in home wiring. The gauge of the wire is what is most important. The gauge of wire is determined by the amperage of the equipment. 16AWG - 10A 14AWG - 15A 12AWG - 20A 10AWG - 30A 8AWG - 55A 6AWG - 75A 4AWG - 95A 2AWG - 130A 0AWG - 170A
- Q:I have a 200 amp main breaker just below my meter, which is mounted on a pole. The neutral wire coming in is run to ground. From this box, I've run 2 cables (1/0) ~80 ft to another box with a 150 amp main breaker. This box is grounded to an 8ft ground rod. I am wondering whether this setup (no neutral wire from meter pole to building) would potentially allow a ground fault without tripping the 200 amp main. For example, if somebody dug into the line with a backhoe? Oh yeah, the cable is in a 3ft deep trench that will be covered. I have an abridged version of the NEC, but I haven't found this particular topic covered. Thanks.
- what you did should be alright
- Q:i am looking for a wire diagram for a 03 eclipse gts with an infinity factory radio and built in amp. i was curios if you can add another amp and sub to this system to give it a little more bass

- Q:I need a little help wiring my ceiling fan.Coming from the ceiling:2 green wiresground wirewhite wireblack wirered wireComing from fan:green wireblue wireblack wirewhite wireCan anyone please explain what wires to connect to what.
- green wires are also ground wires... sounds like it was wired for a double switch, meaning if you opened the box where your light switch is there may be a black or red wire capped off... that allows you to run the light and fan on separate switches... as for the fan, read the instructions, the black and blue will control the fan and light. If you hook them both to the hot then the switch will turn them both on or off and you will have to control them separately by the pull chain. all green and ground together with a wire nut... all the whites together with a wire nut... and black and blue from the fan to the black from the ceiling if that's the (most likely) hot wire (or it could be the red).. so the black/blue and black together with a wire nut will put it all on one switch. if you want to control them separately than add a switch and put black with black and blue with red.
