- Q: I don't know how to make the optical cable work with my macbook pro, I need help! Everytime I try to plug in the optical cable into the control pod it falls out, what am I doing wrong???
- The Z-5500 are best in it's category.it's no question. I've been wanting to get this for a while. I've seen the price go low as 200 so buy at that amount. I've seen the amount go up and down so try to buy it around 200.
- Q: I turned on my car and received error code 12 and error code 25 today. 12 is not a big issue, as it just means the computer needs reset. But 25 means that Idle air control motor circuits, target idle not reached (+/- 200),vacuum leak found. How would I locate the Idle Air Control to inspect and/or replace it, and how do I look for a vacuum leak? Thank you!
- The idle air control motor is on the throttle body. This where the throttle cable connects to the engine. The idle air control should be opposite the throttle cable. There will be a wire harness connected to it. You can replace it by unplugging it and removing a few screws. The idle air control is what adjusts the amount of air going into the engine at idle and controls idle speed. You may have a vacuum leak, but replacing the idle air control should fix it. You can check for a vacuum leak by spraying carburetor cleaner on vacuum hoses and around the throttle body and where the intake manifold bolts to the head. If the engine speed picks up where you are spraying, you have found the vacuum leak.
- Q: I recently tried to share files between my two PCs (one with Vista; the other XP) through a straight cable with default OS configuration. It worked. Then I tried connecting my XP PC with another XP PC, neither of them responded. Does that mean Vista automatically converts a pc into a hub in that case no cross-over cable is needed?
- It depends on your network adapter/driver. Newer devices detect and electronically switch all by themselves. Some allow you to set it in the drivers. Odds are, it's just because the network cards are older in your XP machines. Try updating your drivers. That may get you going. Unless you're daisy-chaining, I can't imagine why you would want to do that, though. I can't even really imagine why you're daisy chaining. Get a router or switch already.
- Q: I don't know if this will cause serious damage or not, I know it's messing with my brakes and I know that when I put my car in park it revs up. I have pushed the brake and I've even hitt he off switch for th cruise control. My car is a 1993 Mercury CougarI really need to know how to fix this, if anything just to remove cruise control permanently.

- Q: I have a 73 inch dlp tv, I want to programe my remote to the comcast hd cable box so i can have just one remote,The comcast remote does not fully work with the tv.
- You don't need to know the details of the signal your original TV remote transmits, at least normally. Programmable remotes like the one from the cable company program with a code in a database, the code just being the entry in the database. Actual technical specs are programmed into the database entry, hence your non-need to know them. All you need is the list of codes for the remote from the manufacturer or vendor of the remote or the device it is for. It will list the codes for various manufacturers of TVs, DVD players, etc.
- Q: I have a Media Center PC with an IR blaster port, and a set-top box with a IR command port. I also have an IR blaster cable, and an IR receiver cable, both of which appear to be using nothing more than standard mono audio cables. My question is, can I simply connect a mono audio cable between the two, and will it work? Will Windows be smart enough to detect the setup, and if not, is there anything I can do to make it work?It doesn't work with a stereo audio cable (I tried that), and I just wanna know if it'll work before I run out and buy an otherwise useless mono audio cable.I know that I could just tape the IR blaster to the IR receiver, but that seems a waste if a simple cable connection would work just as well.
- seems such as you have the video sign coming in purely super, yet do you have the audio linked? you assert song performs super, yet im guessing in case you havent despatched the audio FROM the television/reciever, then youre no longer likely to be getting any sound. youll would desire to pass purple and white out, to the two purple and white or purple or perhaps purely the white in on the desktops end. particularly the line in wish that enables
- Q: i got a ps3 bundle that came with an hdmi cable. i use the hdmi cable for my ps3 but i also use the same one for my Verizon Fios box. it works fine but the only problem is that the verizon fios remote will not turn the volume up or down. but the remote still changes channels and stuff.COULD YOU PLZZ HELP???
- The remote control has absolutely nothing to do with the PS3's HDMI cable. You will likely need to enter a special code on your remote to let it know what TV you are using (then itr can change the volume), the instructions should have come with the Fios Box.
- Q: I just plugged in my HDMI cable and everything is working fine except I don't have any sound. I have a Sanyo TV screen that I have plugged into my PC computer using my new cable. I tried hitting input on my remote so I can switch volume control over to HDMI but instead of showing me a list of things to choose from it changed the channel. I have also tried switching from HDMI-1 to HDMI-2 but that didn't give me sound either. If there is anything you know of to help I would greatly appreciate it!
- Most likely a settings issue on the PC - go to Control Panel (or the Speaker icon if you have one on the task bar). Click on Sound (or Right-click on icon) it opens up tabs - Upper left is Playback, be sure HDMI device is Default (green check-mark). Also some PCs' sound can be controlled from a dedicated software package (like Beats Audio on HPs, THX Trusound, etc) and you can do the same thing there. Sometimes even having this set correctly still fails to send sound to the TV- in this case you need to reboot the computer with the TV powered on and HDMI cable connected - what happens occasionally is PC doesn't see the HDMI connections unless it's already there and working when you boot, and in the boot process, when the PC queries all the ports it sees the HDMI and it will then work (I have to do this now and then with mine). Be sure also to choose either HDMI-1 or HDMI-2 based on which one your PC is plugged into - it will say on the TV port you plug into which one it is. Hope this helps - good luck!
