- Q: Recently, I purchased two power tools from Craftsman - a 19.2v 1/2drill/driver and a 4.56A angle grinder that look exactly like ones sold by Porter Cable. - Current ratings for conductors are based on several factors including conductor type (Copper, Aluminum, other), insulation material (thermoplastic, rubber, asbestos composition), ambient temperature, length, exposure to weather, and numerous other factors stipulated by the NEC or local Code. The ratings are usually given for a single conductor in free air. Mulitiple current carrying conductors which share a conduit, raceway, or any other enclosure must be derated appropriately. Is this something i HAVE to buy from dell, or can i run to circuit city and get something. - Dell is better than they used to be. Their XPS laptops are not half bad, and their standard cheap ones are good for basic use (school, surfing the web, etc). I find them fun to modify, but that is probably a bit above the level of most general users. HP is pretty solid, Asus is a good contender (I have had a few Asus laptops with no issues), and Toshibas are good for general use as well. I do recommend to you (and anyone who uses a computer) to actually learn basic maintenance and repair for your computer. Saves you money in the long run, and with a decent level of knowledge, you will rarely even need any sort of tech support. Computer basics are not difficult, you just have to take the time to learn it.

- Three wire, single phase, 120V uses: line (usually black), neutral (always white), and ground (green or green with yellow stripe). Three wire extension cords should be sized for the estimated load in Watts, and the length of the cord. Armored cable for interior wiring must be #AWG14 minimum. Add details for a better answer.

- Pull the carpet up in the front passenger cabin and you should see a plastic grommet somewhere low along the firewall that you can slip it through. That is where your factory wiring is run into the car but you can usually find enough room to slip one more in.

- Don't worry too much about what the cord says. Worry about the power requirements on the appliance label, and making sure you are feeding it with the voltage required, with a capacity within the range. In your instance, you will need a converter transformer that converts your outlet voltage to 100V, and has 550 or larger watt capacity.
- Q: i have a 97 chevy malibu and i need to know where to run the power cable through the fire wall. or where could i get a diagram that is simple enough for me to understand...
- if you can fit under you dash you can see that mostly all cars and i say all cars becuase iv been doing this for over 10yrs and all cars have a wire that comes from the stearing colum that goes through a rubber gasket into your engine. What we do is the gasket already has a hole in it push your chair as far back as can go and shimmy under the dash bring a flash light becuase its sometimes hard to see and youll see a round black rubber type thing with a wire already running through it. Thats the one to use you might need a long metel thin rod or use a meter coat hanger. Using black electrical tape, tape some of the power wire to the tip of the hanger and push it through the exsisting whole as far as you can then go into your engine and you should be able to see the wire then just pull it to the length you need to wire to the batter dont forget to install a fuse at least 30amps or more depending on how many watts amp your running it for. Dont worry if the little round gasket pops out it can some times do that once your finished with pulling it out and you know your not going to be pulling on the wire again. Then you can actually push the gasket back into place that only if it popped out if it didnt then your good to go.
