Q: Hi, I am getting a TIVO Series 2 for about $50. I have the following questions.1. Do I need to pay TIVO a fee for some sort of service? I can see the plans online.2.What service is it? I want to use it with Cox cable now, but very likely I would like to use it with over the air antenna.3. Do any of the TIVOs have digital tuners, for it to be used when DTV transmissions start?4. All I need to use it for, is to record a couple of hours of programs.Thanks.4.
It should cost you the same for the service as having a new TiVo. Yes, you need to pay a fee for the service unless that TiVo has a lifetime subscription fee attached to it. Cox Cable will work better than an over the air antenna. It might work, but I'm not entirely sure. You'll love TiVo. I couldn't live without it!
Q: I am trying to figure out how to change my Sharp Tv (1994? model?) from Air to Cable. I found it on the setup menu and i push the volume button to try and change it but it won't work. Any help?
If your city has a channel 3 then you set the tv to Channel 4 and plug in the cable. Now you control the tv only thru the cable box. Leave the tv channel changer alone. If the city has channel 4, set the tv to 3.
Q: I recently worked on a early 2000 Smoker Craft 24 foot pontoon. It has a 40 horsepower mercury outboard motor. I got it working as it's been sitting for a couple years. However, the throttle control got locked in the reverse position and I can't get it to move. I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about this, possible causes and solutions.

Q: I have a usb2lpt port cable and I want to use it in my control projects (I don't have lpt port in my laptop)the problem is I tried to test it to control a LED using emu8086 but it's not showing any change to the LED , so is the problem with the address (378h-37Ah) or do I need a program to do such thing ?TO KNOW : OS : win Vista and I tried parmon.exe it's not working I tried userport.exe and it causes system failure (after I coped userport.sys to #92;drivers)thanks a lot !
Apparently many of those parallel adaptor cables only present an emulated printer interface to Windows and not the old school 378h interface. Find an old computer, a PCI interface card with a parallel port, or use a USB serial adaptor instead.
Q: I want to know how to let the remote search for the right code and program the TV to the same remote from the cable company.
To Search for Codes Point Digital Remote AWAY from TV. Press and hold TV and SELECT buttons AT THE SAME TIME until the red light at the top blinks twice. Using the remote control key pad, enter the number 991. The red light on the remote blinks twice. Press the TV button repeatedly until the TV shuts off. Then press the SELECT button. Press TV button again to turn TV back on.
Q: I forgot the code for my remote control that i have for my digital cable. How do i get the code without calling anyone to come and fix it? Is there a way to reset it or somethin?
1. What brand cable box do you have? (ex: motorola?) 2. What brand t.v. do you have. Ok then, I am assuming you are needing the cable box remote to control your t.v. (power, volume, etc.) correct? If so, try one of these codes for a Toshiba T.V. : 0154, 0156, 0060.
Q: I have a standard cable box attached to my TV and, during times of troubleshooting, the rep on the phone has said, Let me access your controller to see if I can determine the problem. I'm just wondering if, since they have such control over the box's performance, can they also 1) determine what I might be watching at a given moment and 2) track what I watch over, say, a 24-hour period. Thanks to all who reply!
Yes cable companies use this technology to determine what shows the public like to watch, when people watch tv, etc. This helps them decide their programming guide. They strive to get max. number of viewers because companies pay lots of money to advertise with them (commericials) more viewers more people watching commericials more money for advertisers happy cable company. They know exactly what you are watching and when you are watching it and they are using that information to make profits.
Q: I'm curious about the technicality of an Auxiliary Cable. - The bandwidth ? - Is it compressed or loss less sound?- Why is it so universal?- How many channels? I'm guessing 2?Let me know I'm very intrigued about this surprise I cannot find anything online. Thanks.
AUX cable is short for Auxiliary and does not have a real specification. If you are talking about a single, yellow RCA cable - this is called Composite video and it can carry standard def, 480 lines of video. One channel. If you are talking about 3 RCA cables red/blue/green - this is 3 composite video cables. This also carries 1 channel of video but can be 480 or if made with the higher bandwidth coax can carry up to 1080p.
Q: The difference between the split screen and the total screen in the cable
Called plastic terminal, there are four points, six points ....... and other sizes; if the iron pipe, there are ...50 and other sizes.
Q: Does the wireless in the controller turn off, and instead does the input go through the usb? This would be similar to any wired PS2 controller, for example. OR is the wireless still on, while the usb only recharges power?
No you can not use a ps2 controller because there is no place to plug it into. Well unless you want to pay for an adapter. The ps3 controller pretty much is the best controller ever. It is similar to the sony controller we all know and love but yet, it's so much better. Wireless is awesome but the battery wares out fast. But that's okay because it also charges very fast. It takes 30 minutes for my ps3 controller to get charged. SixAxis is amazing and improved L2 and R2 buttons. And yes it does come wth a charger
