- I just did that - configured my samsung remote to control xfinity box- it is in the manual of samsung tv, i guess it might be different per model. My model is h6400. You need a infrared extender that you connect to a slot on the back of your tv. That extender then is placed in front of the xfinity box. Then i just followed the on screen configuration steps from the settings on tv. It asked me to enter zip code and then i had choose what comcast area i am in. I did not know exactly as there were 3, so i just chose one on top. Not all functions work, i can swich channels, but i cant get guide. I will experiment with it later The extender came in the box with tv, it's a small round thingie with a long cable attached. I inserted it into IR out on the back of the tv.

- You don't need the audio cable - cd/dvd drives will simply read the digital data off the disc and convert it to an analog signal on the motherboard.
