Q: Hi, I am getting a TIVO Series 2 for about $50. I have the following questions.1. Do I need to pay TIVO a fee for some sort of service? I can see the plans online.2.What service is it? I want to use it with Cox cable now, but very likely I would like to use it with over the air antenna.3. Do any of the TIVOs have digital tuners, for it to be used when DTV transmissions start?4. All I need to use it for, is to record a couple of hours of programs.Thanks.4.
It should cost you the same for the service as having a new TiVo. Yes, you need to pay a fee for the service unless that TiVo has a lifetime subscription fee attached to it. Cox Cable will work better than an over the air antenna. It might work, but I'm not entirely sure. You'll love TiVo. I couldn't live without it!
Q: I am from Queens NY and time warner signal of my cable internet fluctuates a lot. I don't connect wirelessly. Is there a way of amplifying my signal because I'm sick and tired of time warner going in and out of my place to FIX the signal, then, at the middle of my work, would not have any connections at all for hours. Thanks.
I have Optimum Online cable internet. I'm sure the service guys have talked to you about making sure the computer is either the only thing on the cable or connected to the first splitter. You could also try a cable amplifier. Any new one will have the bandwidth to support internet usage frequencies too. With cable, you're attached to all your neighbors too. Since you can't control what they're doing, there might be one bad connection that's bringing down your whole block or building.
Q: I have a 1992 Nissan 300ZX it is not a TT or 2+2.if you are looking at the engine, on top are two adjustment cables. I know the far right is the accelerator cable but is the one on the left the idle adjustment cable? also is it best to have the accelerator cable as tight as it can go without have it pull on the switch or just a little loose?
On most cars, that 2nd cable is for the cruise control if it has a 2nd cable right next to the throttle cable. As for your other Q, most of the time the throttle cable has a tiny bit of slack in it (it's not loose by any means, but it's not normally as tight as a banjo-string unless the gas pedal is depressed from inside the car). There's probably no need to tighten it unless there's an abnormally large amount of slack (like if nothing happens when you initially press the gas pedal in the carotherwise it's probably just fine as it is.).
Q: I know I can't record in HD w/ the Series2, I just want to be able to record standard TV AND be able to use my HD cable-box to watch HD channels. I'm sure a bunch of people have had this problem and I'd really like to avoid the trial and error frustration of it all, if possible. Thanks for your responses.
You have to set your cable box to output interlaced (not progressive video). Then follow the instructions from tivo for connecting the box. You'll use the composite or s-video cable to send video to the tivo and you'll use component or hdmi cables to send video to the tv from the box. You may need y adapters for the sound output from the cable box. In order to insure that tivo channel changes always work, I have the front of my cable box covered. That may be a problem for controlling the cable box.
Q: What is the cable for rvv? Is it a power cable or a control cable? What is the cable?
The two can not be used interchangeably, both the installation location and the way is also different. Do not have to consider the difference between the two.
Q: I had a short promotional video (5 minutes) made and posted on my website. It was professionally edited at my own expense, and contains a montage of sound bite clips of me talking from an hour long interview video that originally appeared on a cable show. Now the interviewer has discovered my website, and is demanding that I have it re-edited to include at least 25% footage of the interviewer asking me questions, inclusion of the show credits segment, and other changes.I have posted a credit with a link to her website, but she says this is not sufficient, and is threatening legal action.Don't I have any fair use rights to use sound bites of my own speech for my promotion without the interviewer's creative control? Thanks for any help.
No, the owner of the content is the original creator of that content. The fact that you happen to be in that video footage doesn't give you any commercial rights unless specified otherwise, but my guess is that you signed a release for that footage to be used exclusively by the interviewer. They are being kind to you by not suing you and only demanding that you include some extra footage to provide more context.
Q: I actually have two questions.1. What are MIDI cables used for? Is it just to play notes through your computer for programs like Synthesia and Finale?2. Is there a way to copy a tone/voice/sound from a song and play that tone with a synth/keyboard? Or do I have to create the sound manually with my MicroKORG?Sorry, I can't explain it much better.
What Is A Midi Cable
Q: I forgot the code for my remote control that i have for my digital cable. How do i get the code without calling anyone to come and fix it? Is there a way to reset it or somethin?
extremely tough point. search from the search engines. that could actually help!
Q: I have three tv's in one room and have three cable boxes to control each TV. (This is a large game room) At the moment the TV's have the cable box directly below them and each can have different viewing. I'd like to hide the cable boxes in a storage closet (with ventilation) but be able to control the systems. I've used and seen the IR extenders, but they are usually multiple devices at once (cable box, dvd, vhs, tivo, etc) are there systems with multiple eyes to send to specific devices or even single device systems?
A universal remote is a great and inexpensive way to accomplish your goals. I recommend the Philips Pronto 9200 with the optional RF extender. The RF extender has discreet IR outputs so you can control each cable box one at a time and they wont interfere with each other. Model # for the RF extender is RFX9200.
Q: i finally got my lawn mower running good but i need a throttle cable. can you still buy them? i,am getting tired of reaching down to make it go faster. i need a cable that hooks on the throttle and clamps on the handle and has a knob to make it go faster or slower. thanks guys ! by the way it,s a 3.5 HP briggs and stratton. it never came with a cable and there,s no adjustments on the carburetor.
The quality of cut is determined by how sharp the blade is. Electric mowers are nice because they are quiet. They also weigh much less than gas mower if corded, which means no need for self propelling. Gas mowers are nice because they do not need to be plugged in. But noisy and need gas and oil added routinely. Gas and corded electric mowers can last for decades. The rechargeable types need batteries periodically. Ultimately it is in the eye of the beholder as to which is the better mower. No matter how much people want to intellectualize choice it boils downs to personal preferences and matter not how pragmatic you attempt to be.
