- Q: I have a Chevy 350v8It's not shifting when it should be. It's not shifting up at all. (its not a damaged transmission)-Where is the kickdown cable?-How do i adjust it to shift the trasmission up when the RPM reaches a certain place?Right now it has problems shifting up through gears at HIGH RMP.Could it be something else? I just changed the tranny fluid and filter.
- was it shifting ok before oil/filter change? you may have wrong filter,,,,[happened to me,,,wrong filter impeded flow causing it to shift at 3K rpm you dont know enough to fix it.[i can tell by the question] let a pro look at it.a tranny will ruin fast like that,,,real fast
- Q: I have one of those cheap Chinese imported mopeds and recently the steel cable that controls the brake detached from the brake handle mechanism. The cable was attached through a small hole near the brake handle. How do I reattach this cable? Again the cable itself is not broken, it has just detached from the hand brake area.
- Loosen the other end lock nut on the cable, pull some extra cable (one inch or so) at the handle, reatatch it to the handle. Now pull the cable slack back out and tighten the nut.
- Q: i have done some research on the web and have possibly narrowed down what my problem is--- 1 out of about 5 times I stop at a light my 1996 eclipse 2.0 dohc gs (chrysler american) likes to idle low around 400-500 rpms and now and again to 100 rpms-- do you think this is the idle control servo (motor) I was hoping to get feedback from a Mitsubishi mechanic on this-- one other interesting fact is that when it is at idle at a stop if I turn the wheel and engage the power steering it will idle normally around 800-1000 rpm--- is there a way to clean this component? or should I just replace it? I cleaned the throttle body which was very dirty-- is the idle control servo located on the throttle body? thanks for the help
- All good points, in addition you say you cleaned the throttle body did you spray carb cleaner in there? If so you can very easily short the IAC. It's more common on a Mitsu motor, but it will happen on the 420A also. It usually causes a problem ALL the time however, but just as a point, never spray carb clean in a modern throttle body, just spray a rag and wipe.
- Q: I have a 1992 Nissan 300ZX it is not a TT or 2+2.if you are looking at the engine, on top are two adjustment cables. I know the far right is the accelerator cable but is the one on the left the idle adjustment cable? also is it best to have the accelerator cable as tight as it can go without have it pull on the switch or just a little loose?
- On most cars, that 2nd cable is for the cruise control if it has a 2nd cable right next to the throttle cable. As for your other Q, most of the time the throttle cable has a tiny bit of slack in it (it's not loose by any means, but it's not normally as tight as a banjo-string unless the gas pedal is depressed from inside the car). There's probably no need to tighten it unless there's an abnormally large amount of slack (like if nothing happens when you initially press the gas pedal in the carotherwise it's probably just fine as it is.).
- Q: What are the standards for cable trench depth and width design? What is the general width and depth design? What is the length of the cable trough? What is the vertical distance between strata? Is there a limit to the height of the floor from the height of the floor and the bottom of the cableway? More
- This depends on how much voltage the high voltage line landing. The The The national standard is from the high-voltage line landing center radius of 8M outside the range is absolutely safe distance. What is the distance between the feet that will cause the electric shock to see how far you are from the center of the high voltage line drop center and how high is the voltage. If there is a high voltage line falling next to you should quickly close together feet or jump out of the 8M range.
- Q: I have a 01 expedition and the cruise control does not engagefuse is good. Any ideas on what it could be?
- If nothing happens either the switch is bad or the control module for the cruise is bad, hard to say which one, some units are vacuum actuated so see if you have any vacuum leaks of the hose fell off the unit, the unit itself will usually be mounted on the firewall and be linked to the throttle cable. Best thing to do would be to get it to a s hop if you are not good with electrical, if you are start probing at the switch to see if you have power and then check if the control unit is getting power.
- Q: How come the volume power button on my cable tv remote won't control my tv? Tv is hooked up to a DVR. The problem isn't with the DVR, or the cable remote. I don't have the original remote for the t.v. Thanks!
- In the manual there should be a certain code for programing your remote to the t.v. E.g. you would press like tv 34 or something to program the remote to work for a jvc tv. It should be in the cable/ dvr manual. You wont need the remote for the tv.
- Q: i connected my laptop to my tv using and hdmi cable. it shows up on the tv but when i try to watch videos or listen to music i cant hear any noise coming from the tv, and it keeps coming from the laptop.how can i get it to sound on the tv?
- It relies upon on the inputs obtainable on your television. Many televisions have VGA or DVI-D inputs. additionally, many greater moderen computers have HDMI outputs. i might study your workstation's outputs with your television's inputs and notice if an undemanding cable will do the trick. in case you have already finished this without success, you could examine online, as many adapters are decrease priced and obtainable. One occasion may well be a VGA to composite video (RGB) adapter. computers many times have a VGA out (universal visual exhibit unit cable) and maximum televisions have a composite video enter. you will possibly then additionally probable want a a million/8 plug to RCA audio adapter for the sound. sturdy success.
- Q: i had a tv connected to cable in the living room of my house and it was working fine.i moved the tv to my bedroom and just decided to move a tv back into the living room (sorry, confusing i know) and i connected it to the cable but its not working, its only getting the local channels and its not set up as satellite.can anyone help?
- two possibilities 1. in the TV setup, do you have it on CABLE or on AIR.? You need to set to CABLE. 2. Does this TV have 2 different antenna-in connectors? Try the other one, or find a choice in setup to use the other one. (maybe an ANT button on the remote control?) Good Luck
- Q: Hello. I have Time Warner Cable. I accidentally activated closed captioning with my remote control, and I don't know what I did to activate it. I tried contacted TWC customer service about it and I did what they told me to do, and it didn't help. How do I get closed captioning off my TV? Please let me know. Thank you. :D
- LOOK at your TV REMOTE. Do you see a button labled CC or CAPT? Press it ntinue to press it over and over until the word OFF appears. Now wait. Do you still see the CAPTIONS appearing? If so, you now have to use the TW cable REMOTE. Set it for CABLE, not TV at the top of the remote. NOW, LOOK for the CC or CAPT button on that. Isn't there? Ok, go INTO the TW menu/setup.Look for a Video or Audio based ICON.select it, find the CC or Caption selection and turn it OFF. I doubt the problem is with your boxyou turned on the TV's captioning.
