Q:I m wondering if there s a Neutral Wire in this picture (yes I turned off the breaker to get this photo). I want to put in a quot;Smart Light Switchand they require a Neutral Wire. I ll have an electrician do the work, but want to make sure the wire exists first.
It's hard to tell from the switch and the color of the wires, but you also have an outlet in the same box as the switch. The outlet will have a neutral and, if it's on the same circuit, you should be able to use that.

The current will be more dense in the smaller wire. The value of the current is inversely proportional to the resistiance of the wire. Resistance = resistivity * length / Area since the wires are of identical material and length, the only thing left to vary is the cross-sectional area. Area is proportional to the square of the radius (diameter), so the current will be proportional to the square of the diameter. I2 is proportional to I1^2 I2 is larger than I1 .
Q:I was looking at the wiring of my current thermostat and I want to know why it's wired the way it is...The yellow wire was wrapped around the white terminal and the yellow terminal. And the white wire was wrapped the around the Orange terminal. The red and green wires were each wrapped around their respective terminals. And the blue wire wasn't connected to anything. Why would the electrician have wrapped the yellow wire around 2 terminals? Is that normal? Also, I tried installing a new thermostat but the heating is not working. The fan works but it just blows room temperature air. The new thermostat only had 4 terminals for R, Y, W, G. I connected the wires I had to their respective terminals. However, I think it may not be working because I have a probably have a heat pump. Any Ideas why else it might not be working? Thanks a lot!
If you have a heat pump, then the thermostat that you currently have will not work. Otherwise, green wire to G, (fan circuit) white wire to W (heat circuit) Yellow or Blue to Y (cooling circuit) but don't hook up both. Just one or the other. Finally, Red to RC/RH (24V circuit). Make sure on your furnace control board that it is wired the same as your T-stat. Good luck.

Q:running wire to a pool motor, it is 1.5 hp, they pulled 10 guage wire and the breaker keeps tripping , do I need heavier wire?
Depending on the distance, heavier wire might help. It's possible that there is too much voltage drop in the wire during motor starting. That would lead to heavy startup currents being drawn for longer periods. The pump manufacturer should have wire size / distance recommendations. Voltage and current measurements at the pump during startup with min/max peak holding meters should reveal the problem. Don

Each wire produces a circular magnetic field. In essence, each wire is carrying current through the other's magnetic field and so the motor effect occurs.The fields are travelling in the same direction between the two wires so like two N poles of a magnet they repel each other.

The gray wire is not a wire that you need. The black is your HOT wire, your white is your NEUTRAL wire (don't call it common/wrong term) and your green is your ground. Those three will make your light work. You are right!...

I actually have a sparkling invisiline retainer and prefer it. I sparkling it two times an afternoon in pepsodent (using chilly water, no longer warm). I on no account consume with the retainer--I consistently do away with it as quickly as I consume--and when I consume, I brush my tooth and then brush/rinse the retainer. I do the pepsodent soakings two times an afternoon--morning and at night. I used Efferdent till now each and everything, yet that took too long--30-40 5 minutes. Pepsodent works in approximately 3 minutes. I save a broom with the Pepsodent and use it to scrub the answer out of the recesses of the retainer. that's in simple terms a habit now--in case you do this, your retainer will stay vivid and sparkling. No stinkiness. (And my orthodontist stated that Efferdent --no longer the blue-staining varieties--and Pepsodent artwork in simple terms besides as Retainer Brite. that's much less annoying to locate Pepsodent Efferedent besides. reliable success.
