Q: I just installed a backup camera however I am having trouble wiring it. I've read that I need to tap into the reverse wire, however I went through many wires and couldn't figure out which one is it. My cameras wire is designed to be wired in the trunk, so the wire under the hood or dash is not a possibility. 2003 G35 Sedan
For the objective of? turning it on? NO! you should use that wire, faucet it for sure, with a speedy connect, for a 12V source wire, use a relay, and that 12V source wire, and that is advisable to do 2 body grounds, one for that 12V source wire for the relay to kick on/off, and one from the digital camera that you're powering from a right away link from the battery (use a 10A inline fuse)
Q: Does anyone know what the wire harness is called that runs from the chassis to the door called on a 1995 jeep gc. This wire harness includes the speaker wires, power window wires, and power lock wires. I have checked everywhere and cannot see what this harness is called.
Its called a wire harness. I beleive it is the main dash wire harness, but you wont get anywhere with that if you are trying to get one from a parts house or dealer, You just have to hit and miss at the salvage yard or digging around yourself and get lucky. But if you can trace the wires to a block connector or firewall connector you will be in luck and just tell them the location of the block where the harness is connected and you should be there, just remember all your options in you truck will have to match the options in the donor truck or the harness wont work for you
Q: lime wire
Don't. I wouldn't recommend Limewire for anyone. On the other hand, if you have MP3's to burn to a CD, use a program called EASY CD-DA EXTRACTOR. it's free and easy to use. Link below.
Q: @topicAnd does the size of the wire matter in electrical consumption?
Simple as I can make it: The size of the wire, and the material it is made of will govern it's resistance for a given length. A large wire will have less resistance than a smaller one of the same material. Ferrite will have more resistance than copper or aluminum. In power transmission lower resistance means lower losses. In a resistance heater, lower resistance means greater consumption. (More power will flow, More heat will be produced).
Q: Can anyone give me some info or a website with info on which type of wire carries sound waves best?
Wire does not carry soundwaves, at least not unless the ends of the wire have tin cans on them, and the wire is pulled taut between them! Wires can carry electrical signals which can be used to reproduce the sounds that caused them. This is how sound comes from such as your stereo system's speakers. Maybe that's what you actually mean? If so, copper wires (insulated, of course) are what you want, and if the distance you run the wires is great, the heavier the wire (gauge) the better. If you are transmitting high power to speakers, the wires have to be capable of handling the electrical current involved.
Q: Does anyone know where i can buy them? I need new ones because my crazy cat chewed up two of the wires lol =#92;
Hey there, That is unfortunate and I am quite sure that catfood is cheaper than speak cables these days. What you are looking for is standard speaker cables found in most sorted retailers. Try your local supermarket or electronics store.
Q: In the picture there is a blue wire that is loose, also i just had the starter and wiring changed a month a go. Thanks.
The blue wire I see is attached to the Oxygen sensor (O2). If that is loose there must be a plug where it goes. That is not shown in your picture. If you're saying the car won't crank (different from will crank but still not start) what is the wire with the blue cap that disappears behind the exhaust manifold? Here's how starters are wired: The BIG red wire comes directly from the battery to the solenoid. Also going to the solenoid is/are (a) control wire(s). Typically there's only one control wire. When you turn the key you energize the control wire. That in turn pulls the solenoid in sending the starter gear into the ring gear on the flywheel. The solenoid also makes contact between the BIG red wire and the actual starter motor itself supplying power to the motor and starts spinning the engine. Older model cars have the second wire going to the solenoid do so to supply unresisted 12 volts to the ignition coil. With computer managed engines this is not necessary, the computer does the work. Hope this clears up some issues for you. Ava g'day mate. )
Q: do i need a wiring harness or can i use wire crimps and do it w.o on a 2000 blazer 4wd if u think i need it plz tell me thanks
unless you known what each wire does get the wiring harness or you very well may destroy your head unit
Q: it still has the harness but im not sure which wires are what and its a 14 pin connector
Do okorder You can also get install kits.
Q: does copper, bell, or speaker wire carry energy faster
Do you mean the speed of electricity in wires? Why do you want to know? It is so fast, the differences make almost no difference in home applications. In unshielded copper conductor it is about 96% of the speed of light, while in a typical coaxial cable it is about 66% of the speed of light. If you had 100 meters of it, that would be the difference between 0.320 microseconds and 0.220 microseconds.
