- go to a hardware store and look at the wires yourself....the numbers are printed on the wires....number 12 wire is the size of about 1/8 of a inch....number 14 wire is about the size of a heavy pencil lead......both these wires come in many colors......
- Q: i have just got a radio from a 2004dodge durango my buddy bought a new radio and i tok his old one, so now i need the wiring diagram to find out what all the wires goo too their are way more wires on thios thing that im use to on stock radios. ive looked it up online and its not the right diagrams the colors dont match up on the wires. ny help pleaseeee
- check out the link this is where i always go and always im able to find the car listing im looking for goodluck!
- Q: I have 2 wires coming up a conduit. i need to put those wires into a timer and then to my pump. can anyone explain or has a website with diagrams
- Get yourself a how-to book on basic wiring. This gives you a hands on reference for additional question (and there will be) that arise.
- Q: cd wires tie into what color wires in your car
- if the harness is cut Car Radio Battery Constant 12v+ Wire: Orange Car Radio Accessory Switched 12v+ Wire: Yellow Car Radio Ground Wire: Black Car Radio Illumination Wire: Gray Car Stereo Dimmer Wire: Brown Car Stereo Antenna Trigger: Pink Car Stereo Amp Trigger Wire: N/A Car Stereo Amplifier Location: N/A Car Audio Front Speakers Size: N/A Car Audio Front Speakers Location: N/A Left Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Tan Left Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Gray Right Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Light Green Right Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Dark Green Car Audio Rear Speakers Size: N/A Car Audio Rear Speakers Location: N/A Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Brown Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Yellow Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Dark Blue Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Light Blue good luck and i hope this helps
- Q: I removed the thermostat before marking the wires and I need to know if anyone knows which wires go where?
- Hello Kaitlin: It depends on what wires come from the furnace. You will need to go to the furnace and look at the wires. If it is a gas furnace (with air cond.), there should be a R terminal with a red wire attached this is the power line. The W terminal (heat) has a white wire attached. The G terminal (fan) should have a green wire. The C (common) terminal may have a blue or black wire (or not). The Y (cooling) terminal may have a yellow wire. If it is a heat pump, the wires will be R (power), Y (compressor), O or B (reversing valve), G (fan), C (common), the backup heat has different designations, from W2 to Aux, others. There should be a legend on the furnace to assist. Good luck.
- Q: installing whelen car strobe lights.the directions say to wire the power to the battery with wire that can hold 125% of the power
- Go with a guage bigger than the wire harness on the strobe. If you go too small of a wire it could put too much of a load on the wire. That will cause it to heat up and can catch fire if it gets hot enough. Like what sparky said, use a relay. I installed neons and strobes in my car using 10ga wire relays, and a power distribution block.
- Q: I have installed a new wiring harness on my trailer, and two new LED trailer lights. The tail lights work, both turn signals work, but for some reason, I do not have a brake light on the right side. Both lights are grounded to their own post, and I do have a good ground on the coupler of the trailer. If a turn signal and brake light in a 4 wire system are using the same wire (green in this case)- how can one work, while the other is not? Any good ideas? I really appreciate the help.
- assuming it was working ok before....... funky symptoms like that (where you can't imagine the circuit that would make 'em behave like that) almost always turn out to be a weak ground -- like the ground is ok for turn signals because only one side is on at a time, but when you demand enough current to light up both sides, it just ain't happening. you can rule out a ground issue between the vehicle and trailer by hooking a jumper cable between the frames. if that don't produce a change, then run an oversized wire from the fixture direct to the connector.
- Q: I changed my Sony to another car and am having problems wiring it back up. Any help on how to wire this ?
- Judging from the fact that there's no CD/MP3/WMA/etc in the list of what you've got on your radio I'm going to assume it's an older one. I'm also going to assume that it's still new enough to have the now standardized wiring colors on it. Go to an installation shop and buy a plug that matches your cars year and make, connect the wiring on that plug to the one on the radio matching color to color. If there's no black wire (ground) on the car to radio plug you just bought that means you need to attach the black wire to a piece of metal that contacts the frame or firewall under your dash. If this wasn't helpful, please make a more detailed question or make me a contact and give me more detail.
- Q: How are wired differ from wireless doorbells, next how are they installed and finally the cost of them?
- just remember that while wireless may cost less, you have to have a wire from the outside button to the door bell itself and then you still have to have a way to power it. i have the wireless, it's idiot proof. a couple of batteries and your off and running. standard batteries like D's and maybe AA's good luck to ya. you can get a good variety at home depot or lowe's
- Q: Cant find were to tap the wiring for the puddle lights. Can some one please help!
- One wire goes to the frame, the other to a 2 wire toggle switch (if you're using a light up switch it will have 3 wires) inside the cab, then connect the toggle switch to your positive battery terminal (or to the live wire going into your steering column if you want them to be switched on when the key is turned on)
