Q:What carpet is suitable to be put in front of the company? is there any requirement about color, texture, pattern and thickness?
Gules
Q:What is the best way to take care of carpeting? How often should I vaccum? Should I use Resovle on it everytime I vaccum? Or any other suggestions? I would like to keep this carpet looking great for as long as possible. Thank You.
Carpet manufacturers recommend vacuuming every day. Do not use resolve or any OTC product for the 1 st year minimum... Have it professionally cleaned at least once a year by a certified cleaner . You ll avoid warranty hassles ( if a problem should arise). Don t do your own steam cleaner ( if at all possible)since the temperature on these machines won t be at the right temp to properly do carpet GL
Q:How can you keep an area rug from bunching up/wrinkling over a carpeted floor?By the way, the rug is fairly new.
had rug pads to use on area rugs which are over a carpeted floor. They come in all sizes, so measure your rug to get the right size.
Q:Ok, i have a white area rug that has a few stains, nothing major.. I want to bleach it to not only get the stains out but i also love the smell of bleach, i bleach my blankets and my sheets every week. Im not really worried about ruining my rug, cause its not like its going to get any better. I know that you need to delute the bleach i just dont know how much to delute or how to go about cleaning the rug. Should i just poor it on or use gloves with a sponge and soak the areas?? Please help :) thanks!
Take the rug outside to your driveway. Clean a spot on your driveway (soap and water, brush and rinse). Place the rug on that spot. Dilute bleach 10:1. Use scrub brush with a handle. Scrub. Rinse with hose. Hang to dry.
Q:Most of the powder carpet freshners have so much perfume in them they trigger a migraine and I can't use them. Not to mention they are pretty pricey for what you actually get. Is plain ole' Arm Hammer baking soda a good alternative? Any other suggestions for freshing carpet?
Plain ole' Arm Hammer baking soda is the best! Sprinkle it on and let it set for at least a couple of hours and overnight would be great. Then vacuum well.....................Good Luck!
Q:i personally don't like carpet cause it gets crappy looking so easy with stains
I agree. The fashion trends of carpet are too expensive to keep up with. Wood floors are the way to go.
Q:Carpeting a 1400 sq. ft. office. Price is an issue. I would like to lay them directly on plywood floor (no 1/4quot; underlyment). Will plywood seams show through? Should I even consider laying them without gluing down? Any experience good/bad? And suggested source? I see them on internet for $.66 sq foot for excess inventory. Thanks!
No carpet pad is needed. Carpet tiles have an integral pad built into them to keep the plywood seams from telegraphing thru the carpet. You should adhere them to the floor, and while I agree with the previous answer about quarter turning the tiles, you may want to lay a few out and see how you like it before you stick them down for good. There are many different ways you can position carpet tiles (very versitile). Check out Interface Carpet (yahoo search will give you the website). They have good ideas on installation methods. And 66 cents a sq. ft. is a great price!
Q:I do not care if it is offline or online rug store as long as they have good customer service and have good variety and range, free return would be plus.
I okorder / The sales person was very knowlegable and provided free shipping and 30 day hassle free trial. I bought Khal Mohammadi loved it as it matched my Oakwood furniture. Best of Luck selecting yours.
Q:My color scheme is all earth tones, what should I do to cover said carpet?
You said the carpet is grey and beige...and your color scheme is all earth tones....with all the earth tones, this should bring out the beige tones in the carpet more than the grey, but if you want to disguise it a little more in open and high traffic areas, get a large area rug with predominantly earth tone colors and just a small bit of grey or blue. This will make the rugs blend easily with the grey tones in the carpet, but draw the eye to the rug not the carpet under it.
Q:My mother wants to get an oriental rug appraised before perhaps selling it to be cut up. (It's very big but has some rips.) Is it worth getting it cleaned before the appraisal? Thanks!
If you have ever seen them clean an oriental rug you would say nothing would be worth the cost. Here is what they do and you can do it yourself. Lay the rug on the driveway. Take a scrub brush on a pole and using rug cleaner scrub it. Then rinse it off with a garden hose and hang it over a railing to dry.
