Q: For the past 6 months or so, my cat has been peeing and pooping on my throw rug (which, just so you know, was an expensive rug from Crate Barrel which I love). My rug is stained from cat pee, and I just had it cleaned deodorized this past weekend in the hopes that she would stop using it as a litter box. I used to think that she did it out of spite, but I can't figure out why she'd be mad at me or my live-in boyfriend (who she belongs to, but we've been living together for about a year and dating for a year and a half, so she knows me well and is very loving towards me). I don't know how to get her to stop using my rug as a toilet. Any suggestions? And, putting her to sleep is not a suggestion. We love her. But, if she doesn't stop pooping and peeing on my rug I don't know what II'll do!
Your cat could be going on the rug because she has a urinary tract infection or inflammation, (A common syndrome cats get.) You should have your vet check to be sure it isn't medical. If it isn't medical it is likely behavioral. Since it is intermittent and both stool and urine, It sounds like a preference problem. Some cats prefer soft rugs to litter. You can try a bigger litter box so they have plenty of room to turn around and dig, a different type of litter, or if it is a covered box try uncovering it. Also, some cats are very picky about their litter and will not use the box if it is not cleaned frequently enough. Some cats need twice daily cleanings while some are fine with weekly ones. Until the behavior stops I would remove the rug and make sure you use an enzymatic cleaner before putting it back. If none of these things work there are medications (like Prozac) that can help with house-soiling problems in cats. Your veterinarian can talk to you about those also. Also, it does not help, and sometimes makes it worse, if you rub their nose in it.
Q: How to quickly remove the formaldehyde of carpet?
The carpet backing material are styrene butadiene latex of strong cement, wool, acrylic and wool. And take TVOC exceeding the standard in consideration, the former three basically will not have excessive formaldehyde, synthetic adhesive is more serious on surrounding air, such as polyester and polypropylene fiber. If the smell is great, one on the carpet surface. If it is formaldehyde that exceeds the standard, then it's seldom for the latter three kinds of formaldehyde exceed the standard. If formaldehyde exceeds the standard, then it is the carpet backing material adhesive bonded by natural latex and other water solvent rubber as. May result in the formaldehyde and benzene exceeding. Therefore, if you want to remove the carpet stain and carpet formaldehyde, you should have antidote against the disease. Generally clear TVOC of the surface, and have the fumigation and formaldehyde treatment to the back. General carpet is divided into nylon
Q: I want to buy this shortsale house that has carpet that animals have used the bathroom on. The carpet is not worn and is a very expensive type. I was thinking that if I removed the carpet, set it up on saw horses in the back yard, and cleaned it using a mixture of bleach water and a pressure washer. I would then let it dry completely, spray it down with febreeze and then reinstall it in the house using new padding. Does anyone have any experience doing something like this? I did the same thing to my truck carpet but I know that was probably a little different.
My favorite method for cleaning carpets involves renting a carpet machine for the weekend, NOT buying the cleaner that they offer, and instead using lemon scented ammonia and plain vinegar with hot water in the cleaning machine. This is a very clean rinsing formula that will cut grime and pet odors without damaging the carpet. New padding is a must but you can clean the carpets and then pull them outside to dry while you replace the padding and mop the underfloor with the sudsy ammonia and vinegar mix. 2 cups ammonia 2 cups vinegar 1 full tank of hot water on the carpet machine Please remember! Keep all bleach and bleaching products away from the ammonia! Once the carpets and floor are dry the ammonia is dispersed and you will not have to worry about a negative chemical reaction in the future.
Q: What is the carpet under the sofa and the tea table
Mat mat
Q: I've found some rugs that I like but they are all too small like only 2X3' Can anyone help me find any bigger rugs like 5X4' or something around that? thanks!
Rugs that are polypropylene are indoor/outdoor rugs that if purchased at the right place will be soft to the touch and offer the ability to just take them outside and hose them down to clean. They are offered in all styles from traditional to contemporary. Look at Frontgate, Grandinroad and Home Decorators for starters. They are much, much less expensive than standard rug fabrics and are beautiful. They come in all sizes. I picked up a 5x5 round for $99.00 from Frontgate. That is not possible in regular rugs.
Q: Can I use hydrogen peroxide for my carpet cleaning machine to clean the carpet?
Hydrogen Peroxide that comes in the light proof brown plastic bottle, is 3%. It will do no harm as an additive for sanitation purposes, but may not be effective in breaking down dirt, soil, cooking oil particles, found in the carpet. Professional carpet cleaners who use the hot water carpet cleaning process, will use a 12% version to treat obvious pet urine stains. Taxidermists, I'm told, use a 20% version to soak animal skulls in to remove every thing from the bone. Use only 50% per cent of the recommended soap, as these toy machines are famous for leaving a sticky soap residue in the carpet that later will attract soil/dirt/dust to the traffic areas of the carpet. Professional carpet cleaners use citric acid products to help remove soap pre sprays from the carpet, to freshen it, and also to lower the PH of the carpet to a neutral level. If your carpet is seriously soiled and hasn't been cleaned for over a year, consider hiring a professional hot water carpet cleaner. Good Luck.
Q: My carpet is a deep burgandy color.
clyb soda,then grease lightening
Q: i have candle wax in my carpet
Place an old towel over it and then run an iron over the towel. It should lift it right out of the carpet. Good luck!
Q: I have a floor rug - it's about 5 ft * 3 - and I don't know how to clean it. I know I can like shake it out, but can I use carpet cleaner on it? Thanks and I apologize for the lame question. :)
Take it to a professional laundry.
Q: I was painting my nails this morning with bright pink nail varnish and i dropped it and it splashed all over my cream carpet, bed and white draws i have sorted the bed and staws out but the carpet is left!i have tried nail varnish remover but it smudged it! would 1001 work? what else?
To remove nail polish from carpets, nail polish remover will work but you need to use caution because it can also remove dye from your carpet or upholstery. You can try and bleach your carpet, but only if you have a white carpet. also; You can remove nail polish stain of a fabric, carpets, and counter tops using Motsenbocker's Lift Off #3. We tried it on our quilt an it made the nail polish stain just disappear, like magic! You can purchase it at any hardware store. We purchased it at The Home Depot for about $6.00. It also removes permanent ink and marker stains.
