- We moved into my husband's grandparent's former home which has two rooms with shag carpeting. I have a bagless vaccum and I set it on the 2 to lowest carpet level setting in one room and the highest in the other (that shag is sooo tall!). We've had NO problems! I'd say go for it! Also, since you are a neat freak I've also shampoo'd both rooms too! And my shampooer has no carpet height setting.

- i would try using 1/2 cap tide laundry soap in your cleaner. i have white carpet and live on a red clay dirt road since i have switched to tide instead of the carpet cleaner solution i have whiter brighter carpet with no stains. works very well. in regards to shampooing too much as long as its good and dry in between cleanings you should be ok. i clean mine about 3 times per month.
- Q: I'm planning on helping my dad put some new carpet in our family room. We measured it and its ABOUT 13.5ft by 13.5ft. Any body know how much that would run for? And our current carpet is the very thin outdoor/indoor carpet. Its ugly and needs to go.
- You will need about 22 yards. You can figure that by assuming that you will buy piece of carpet that is 15 feet wide (they come 12' and 15' wide-using 15' wide will avoid having to piece the carpet). 15' wide will go in one direction. You then divide the other measurement 13.5' by 3' and get 4.5'. Now divide 15' by 3' =5'. Now multiply 4.5x5=22.5. That is how many yards you will need if you get carpet that is 15' wide. Average carpet runs anywhere from $10. to $30. per yard. At $20. per yard, the carpet will cost you $450. Padding and installation will be extra. I have seen some great deals at Lowes and Home Depot adn they offer really low prices for install.

- Take a utility knife and cut out a piece of carpet large enough to cover the hole from the closet. Be careful not to cut out the padding underneath unless you need it where the doggie made the holes. Place the carpet plug over the hole making certain it meets the remaining carpet. You can secure the plug using a hot glue gun or running double sided carpet tape around the edges. Now use your fingernails to blend the fibers on the plug into the fibers of the surrounding carpet. You can find carpet remnants at almost any carpet store, just ask. Also for larger remnants they sell end rolls at the Home Depot and Lowes.

- The best product is goo gone it works on carpet and gets ALL stains out, it is very good! Look it up online. You could also try oxi clean which works vry well, but id stick with goo gone is they are very deep stains.

- First off - Rugs/Carpet usually do not Wear out. Matting or crushing is what the consumer perceives to be wear, but it is usually a result of soil build up without proper maintenance. Your rug/carpet must be professionally steam cleaned once a year and the vacuum you use must be checked to see that the bead-er bar is functioning properly to beat at the fibers. Second - price will play a huge part in the size and type. Since this is for an elementary school and they probably do not have rug/carpet in budget, my guess is that you will be paying for it? Suggestion - go to a local carpet store and pick out the least expensive to your taste, have the store order to your size and then have it bound around the edges. You can pickup double side tape and use this to hold carpet flat. This may be your least expensive way. Good Luck.

- Floating here means getting their teeth done. But from what I have read it can also mean hauling. If that is the case I would recommend getting something lighter you don't want a big winter blanket on especially if they get stressed while moving and sweat. I also recommend wrapping his legs for protection.

- Have you considered a foam backed bamboo rug? This won't yellow the floor and it won't slip and slide either. A rug with no backing is NOT a good idea in a bathroom. As for a rubber backed rug, if you only leave it on the floor when you use it after a shower or bath and keep it on the rim of the tub the rest of the time, it will take years and years and years before the flooring is yellowed... It's leaving it on the floor all the time that yellow the flooring...
