Q: We have a fairly large area rug in our living room but over time it has become wrinkled. I don't want to buy a new one yet, so how can we get it to lay flat against the carpet and not bunch up with stubborn wrinkles anymore?: Wet it and hang it outside to dry, using clothes pins directly on two corners, or completely flat against a fence.

Q: We have a really big area rug, and it keeps getting these huge...fold crease bulges in the same exact area...how the heck do you get rid of these for good?: Do you have a thick carpet pad beneath it? A good carpet pad will prevent a rug from creeping and creasing. Rotating the rug periodically will also help.

Q: I recently threw up over a large area of my carpet. I have already removed the vomit but now I must remove the smell. I have used a mixture of vinegar,water,and soap, this seems to be working but I then used a pet odor remover to finish the job. My neighbor has very shaggy carpeting, and the result is more bugs, and gunk in the floor, and dirt and stains are hard to remove. Stick away from cotton, wool, polyester, etc. There are specialty carpet stores, check your local listings, also general Bed Bath and Beyond Type home improvement stores have various carpets. For cheap deals try visiting the Flee market or something. Since carpets are personal preference, it is best you feel the texture and stuff in the store for yourself.
