Q: My cousin spilled nail polish all over the carpet! How can we get it off the carpet and wall?
I use barbersole shaving cream. It also takes out red wine. It has been my life savor!
Q: Water from a faulty air conditioner dripped onto a small area of the fitted carpet in our bedroom. The patch is no longer wet, perhaps slightly damp, but the smell is horrible. Any advice please. Changing the carpet is not an option.
If you have decided to let the carpet dry in place you can get borax powder and work it into the pile of the carpet and then let it sit for a few hours. Then you can vacuum it up. Most of the smell should be gone. Any residue just helps fireproof the carpet. Lysol spray disinfectant will stop further mold formation. Febreze will help. A portable fan directed on the area will help a lot.
Q: I need to use the carpet cleaner machine, but do not want to purchase the solution. Does anyone know of a home solution that I can use with the many, many cleaning supplies I have in my home?
Rug Doctor Cleaning Solution
Q: Their is a black spot on our white carpet. I think it's been their for at least 2 years, but we never realized it was their. We've tried 2 brands of carpet remover, and it only faded a little bit. We tried oxy spot remover, and it didn't do anything, please help.
Could be that whatever was spilled on the carpet might have molecularly bonded. You might want to try heat and scrubbing. Take wet wash towel and microwave then rub or use an iron over the wet towel directly over it to dislodge the bonding components. CAUTION--the iron method can cause permanent damage to carpet fibers if applied to hot.
Q: Who has the glue formula for laying the carpet?
Production process:The water is added to the reaction pot, the temperature is raised to 70 DEG C, and then slowly added to the polyvinyl alcohol, and the temperature is increased to 90~95 DEG C, so that the PVA is completely dissolved.Cooling the polyvinyl alcohol solution to 80~85 DEG C, dropping hydrochloric acid, stirring for 20 minutes, adding formaldehyde for condensation, takes about 60 minutes.
Q: we are trying to shampoo our hall carpet, but someone had spilled quite a bit of laundry soap awhile ago and it doesn't seem to go away. Does anyone know a better way to get rid of this big blotch of soap on the carpet?
Try diluting some vinegar in water and shampooing with that. Vinegar is used to cut oven cleaner cleaning solution making clean up easier, maybe it will work on the soap. My concern is how much water are you putting on the carpet? Saturating it could be damaging the under layer, promoting mold. You might consider cutting out that section, taking it to the sink or tub and running water through it until completely soap free, plot as much as possible out, let air dry and then use double sided carpet tape to reinstall it in the hall. They use carpet tape when installing carpeting when it must be seamed, so it's not a freakish idea.
Q: The carpets in a house we placed an offer on are ick. Well they don't smell and most of the stains I think will clean out but they eventually need to be replaced. But due to other costs we have to address first we want to clean them. Is calling a professional steam cleaner the best way to go? Does steam cleaning really do a good job? We have shampood carpets before with horrible results.
steam cleaning does a good job. sometimes the companies will have specials, like $99 for 24x24 room and they move the furniture ting one with the shampoo will be about $50
Q: my mom wants to get a big but not too big or expense dragon rug. Where can she get it online? That really looks like a dragon? every time my mom searches for dragons rug on the computer she gets weird and not dragon rugs or even close to it. We live in a small town so the stores around here do not any dragon anythings. sO where can she find one that is worth the prices and the right size and looks like a real dragon and not a blob?
I don't know if it's what you're looking for but I got a rug from Ikea for my son that has two Chinese dragons on it. It's blue with a green dragon on each end. It's about 2 feet by 4 feet it was about $30 Canadian
Q: What kind of carpet is suitable for living room?
it is a relatively cost-effective carpet. It is probably the most environmentally friendly carpet, as well as a variety of synthetic fiber blended, it is this kind of special nature that makes it more suitable in summer. High-grade wool carpet is more expensive, let alone in the living room, . In addition, there is also a kind of bamboo carpet. 2, it can absorb moisture from the air and more durable. blended carpets and plastic carpet. Blended carpet (editor first recommend). The last one is generally not suitable for families, water content of wool also can reach 33%. The kind of carpet generally has the advantage of wool carpet. Acrylic carpets are relatively affordable. 1, but the advantages are obvious. 3, combined with the durability advantage of the fabric carpet, also can release the moisture when the air is dry: It is a kind of carpet added wool inside, make it in high humidity environment: The wool in general humidity will contain 13% to 18% water of the wool itself, under special conditions, there are four kinds of carpets, acrylic fiber, wool carpets, no other blending.
Q: I have found white worms in the vacuum cleaner bag they also appear to be heavily infesting my carpet and look alot like snakes. What could this be?
The worms are probably the larval form of the carpet beetles. Routine vacuuming effectively removes carpet beetles which are already present, as well as hair and lint which could support future infestations. Particular attention while vacuuming should be paid to the edges of carpets, along baseboards, underneath furniture and similar quiet areas where carpet beetles prefer to feed. Insecticide applications directed into infested areas are often useful as a supplement to good housekeeping. Products containing active ingredients such as chlorpyrifos, permethrin, bendiocarb and allethrin are effective against carpet beetles. Sprays may be applied to carpets (especially beneath and along the edge adjacent to the baseboard), underneath furniture and other likely areas of infestation where prolonged contact with humans is unlikely. Clothing and bedding should not be sprayed and should be removed before treatment. Control of carpet beetles requires patience and a thorough inspection to locate all sources of infestation. Elimination of widespread, ongoing infestations may require the services of a professional pest control operator.
