Q: Because u know the bath rugs are really dirty we step on them everyday or its okay: I wouldn't because of the dirt. Definately don't dry them together, the rugs have to be dried on low heat or no heat....they will melt if there is a rubber backing. good luck!

Q: We have off white carpet (which is now brown and stained) that is 10 years old. We have two toddlers (more to come) and 3 dogs. The dogs come in from outside right onto the carpet. I am looking for a flooring solution that will meet our needs. I expect our future holds many more carpet stains so I am looking into carpet tiles for our family room. I know, not pretty but functional. What do you all think? Are there some higher quality carpet tiles whereby our family room won't look like cheap office carpet? We don't want tile and we do not want laminate as we need soft floor for dogs and kids. Real hardwood would be nice but price prohibitive. Please let me know if you have any experience with carpet tile and what your general outlook on carpet tile/squares is. P.S. when we sell the house we would go ahead and put in new quot;realquot; carpet before we move.: There are some VERY NICE carpets sold in squares. You can't even tell that they're squares. I think your logic is sound.

Q: We have an area rug over a carpet, no rubber underlaying, it's just a rug over a carpet. The rug is starting to curl/crease/wrinkle in the middle. Why is that? It was a fairly cheap rug. Is that why? Or because we have nothing under it but carpet? Something else?: May be the quality, may be spot with most traffic area or . . probably too thin of an area rug. The thickness and weight of an area rug would stay flat better. You may need some sort of padding, or something stiff that you can use two sided tape to stick to back of area rug. Cardboard may work but then the area rug would have a slippery 'backing' and may not stay put.

Q: Our dog chewed up a decent size chunk of carpet in our rental townhome. There is chunk pulled out and stripped about 6 inches from the wall in a corner. The question is how long will you be in this apartment. If you are there for say... five years, your liability for the carpet will be very small as it will be about done anyway. If you moved in to brand-new carpet and are there for only about a year, it is quite reasonable for the LL to require you to replace the entire damaged area. From a property manager's perspective, we require fairly substantial pet-deposits for exactly this purpose - but because we have the deposit we are are fairly relaxed about this type of damage allowing the tenant a good deal of leeway in how they choose to deal with it. Most sorts of cosmetic damage would be addressed at any turn-over anyway. Odors, on the other hand, are an entirely different issue.

Q: how do i get rid of a carpet burn please help: The only thing you can do is cut in a new piece. My brother and I do flooring on the weekends. We have done this repair many times. You have to have the right equipment to do it right. (hot iron and seam tape) If the carpet is fairly old, you can also cut out the burn if it is small and re-seam at the cut. This is also done with a hot iron and seam tape.
