Q: The carpet in my apartment was old to begin with and then I got my dog a few months ago and we have poty training issues. Now my carpet and whole place smells. I bought a carpet cleaner and have tried all sorts of produts but nothing seems to work. I don't really want to have them done professionaly done because of the dog. Help?
Honestly, I have been in your shoes before. I really had a stinked carpet and ended up throwing it away and just buying a new one.
Q: We have a large carpet that we want to cut and lay over our cream one (to save it as we have a two year old) The carpet WILL fray and become untidy and we have heard that it will cost 80p per 12 inches to get it 'overlocked' or is it called 'binding' (the edges sewn up so it doesnt fray) and we just cant afford it as the measurements are 16 feet x 9 feet = ?40 (odd)... Ive done a little research and have come across 'double sided carpet tape' (?) also I see something else 'GLUE'.. that can be used. Does anyone out there know how we would do it... the tape AND glue (?) Can someone give me step by step instructions or directions on how to stop this carpet from coming undone and fraying. Thank you very much indeed. x
google DIY carpet binding follow and read the links and you see what is available..
Q: i have a peach carpet and ivory and gold suite
Even a impartial colour may be 'yet another' colour. somewhat of attempting to forget approximately all the different hues attempt to locate an same Ice Blue rug alongside with a mix of Ice Blue and Rust pillows for the settee and chair. it would be suitable in case you may locate pillows with an Ice Blue - Rust development too. vivid and exciting! i might paint the baseboard to verify the wall, yet with a tad of gloss to cause them to uncomplicated to scrub. (Satin) in case you desire somewhat extra beneficial exciting, paint the baseboard on the Rust wall Ice Blue too. It relies upon on in case you like assessment.
Q: How to remove a very long silica gel stained on the carpet?
Ask for the carpet paviour, dig it and then fill up,
Q: My sister has a 9x12 area rug that laid flat on hardwood floors and now that she wants to put it on carpet, it curls on the edges and bunches in the middle. Is there any way to keep it flat? It's a beautiful rug, but right now she has it rolled up against a wall.
That is a result of laying over your wall to wall carpet and the CUSHION under it. As you walk on it the rug is depressed and wrinkles because it's not anchored like the wall to wall carpet is. Don't use tape. It will stick to your wall to wall carpet. There is a Rug Pad, very thin, non slip, which you can buy, made for rugs over carpet. It use to come in rolls 4 1/2 feet width and would take two pieces 12 feet each. Actually it should be trimmed about 2-3 inches short. There is one for hard surface floors. Do not get that one. Be sure ir's for rug over carpet.
Q: when you leave heavy furniture on a carpet it leaves a mark like if you have a wardrobe on a vcarpet it leaves a mark but does the mark stay forever or does it only last a little bit?
It goes away after awhile.
Q: The rug does lays down and doesn't roll back up, it just keeps quot;crinklingquot; up and Ill pull it to straighten it out and 5 min. later its all wrinkly again......it lays on carpet, what can I do?
Staple or screw the four corners down. Staples will look better but screws will be easier to take out when cleaning is necessary.
Q: SO my dog had bad diaheria and made a nasty nasty mess on the carpet in a few spots and it was just aweful so only thing i had was oxi clean so put oxiclean on the spots which were very large spots and now its super white in those spots which is better then poo but looks crazy... what can I do to make it look not as noticable? Only thing i could think of is get oxiclean and add it to water and steam clean the whole carpet and maybe it wont be as bad but that would take TON of oxiclean does anyone have any ideas?
put a lot of bleach in your steam cleaner, at least maby it will kind of even it up.
Q: I have been living in a rental home for 2yrs and notice that the carpet is old. Due to the fact that i have had it clean 1 time steam clean and 2 times rental machine and stains will not come up. Asked rental company once and they said the owner does not have enough money to replace carpet. The carpet is over 10yrs old and you can tell because the edges are coming up and the man who clean the carpet one time said they don't make that kind of carpet any more. How can i get the owner to replace the carpet.
Send him a certified letter with return receipt - this way you know he recieved it. Let him know that the carpet is starting to come up and that you consider it a safety hazard. Ask politely if he/she can replace the carpet. Look up landlord - tenant laws in your state, there may be specifications on when carpet needs to be replaced. This may be a time limit or if certain conditions are met (ie: coming loose, excessive tears/damage, etc.) If you can find something that states he has a responsibility to replace the carpet then include that in your letter. If you can't find anything specific according to your state laws then you'll just have to keep asking politely. If he takes no action and it IS his legal responsibility then the next step would be to send him another certified letter stating that he has (specify a time limit, I would say 30 days) to replace the carpet or you will replace it and withhold the amount from your rent. Check and see if this is legal in your state - it is in most.
Q: i have a little dog and i'm still training her so i have a carpet cleaner spray i use on her areas that she had an accident on. Well anyway she did her thing inside instead of outside and i grabbed the tilex tile cleaner with bleach instead of the carpet cleaner and now my carpet is bleached in 2 areas! I am moving apartments in a month and i am afraid i wont get my deposit back. Is there any carpet dye or somthing i could do???
When the person we had come over and feed the cats cleaned up a fur ball she used the only thing she could find, comet dishwasher detergent with bleach. I saved a remnant when they installed the carpet and had somebody splice it in but it still didn't look right. Actually the maintenance guys there might know just the trick. But most of the time people don't get their deposit back unless it's in better condition than when you moved in (if documented on move in) was my experience. You could call or see a professional cleaning or janitorial service and ask if they could help you out with some tips and some types of dyes to use. You could buy a carpet sample that is similar for a buck or two and experiment on it, buy a couple fabric dyes but don't make it worse than it already is. This has huge potential for disaster so be super careful, a professional would be better.
