- Yes. Numerous scratch covers are on the market and readily available in hardware stores, building supply stores etc. Make sure you get the right colour of scratch cover for your sofa.
- Q: I have a one year old husky, very hyperIm trying to stop him jumping/getting on the sofa but everytime i tell him no or to get down he thinks im playing with him and starts running around the house for me to play. Any tips?
- Use a clicker and train him. How?: Clicker and treats. Whenever he gets off the sofa, press the clicker and tell him a compliment and give him a treat. Keep practicing while saying OFF or NO. As you do that get the clicker and keep repeating. As you do this for a while, WITHOUT treats or clicker, he'll get used to it. OR make sure he gets full exercise and gets TIRED. Then, he might be too tired to get on. If he begs for treats, use a hand signal for SHH, and a hand signal for OFF. Maybe a signal for NO, just in case. Hope this helps!

- I have an Ikea sofa but not the one you mentioned. It's comfortable and sturdy for the 500$ I paid for it. With the one I have the cushions are not washable or dry cleanable. So getting them clean is very difficult. This is very annoying because my 2 year old is constantly on it. Find out the care instructions before buying, if it's washable I recommend them.

- Q: Does this happen to anyone else? It is ruining our new sofa, and we keep cleaning it the best we can, but she is destroying it. I tried No-Go, which is sold at the pet store and supposed to keep them from going on stuff. Their litter boxes are always clean. A few years ago, I took my cat to the vet and she told be that my cat is depressed and needs some Prozac, seriously, but how is one supposed to afford/believe that? Any ideas? (BTW, we have 3 cats, and all are fixed except one, and age from 3-8 years old.)
- I think the reason is territorial marking - you do say the sofa is new. The cat that is highest in the heirarchy of the 3 is marking the sofa. What I would try is: keep the cat (or all the cats) away from the sofa for a few days (especially when you're not there to observe her). Praise her every time she goes in the litterbox. Allow the cat in the same room as the sofa _only_ when you're there and can pay attention to her. When she starts preparing to pee sniffing around on the sofa, crouching, etc., pick her up and closet yourself with the cat and the litterbox in another room / bathroom. When she uses the litterbox, praise her. Another version... put aluminum foil or double-sided tape for a while on the sofa. That should keep the cats from going up on it. Aluminum foil may be removed when there are guests / the sofa will be used very easily...

- I've heard a futon is more comfortable, I've had sofa beds and they are NOT comfortable. Also, a futon is easier to move and takes up less space. All around better!
- Q: I cannot beleive my asking a question about sofa cushions but here I go. We have a perfectly fine sofa. However, we just tried to wash one of the sofa seat covers and the zipper broke. Now, we cannot fit the seat cover back on the foam cushion. It is an older sofa but it is decent shape. I do not want to reupholster the whole couch or replace the foam cushion. I just need to purchase one seat cover. I have no idea even where to begin. Does anyone know where I can purchase couch seat covers?
- If it's an older sofa, as you said, you'll never find a replacement. Other than a new sofa, re-upholstering or slipcovers are your only option. By the way, the zipper could be replaced.Just because cushions have zippers, they shouldn't be washed, as you found out.
