Q: My gf's cat won't stop pissing on the leather sofa. I finally threw it out and got a new one and sure enough, w/in 2 days, he pissed on it again. Q: How can I remove candle wax from a microfiber sofa?: If the candle wax is caked fairly thickly onto the sofa go to step 1. If it isn't very thick, skip to step 2. 1. Gently scrape some of the wax level down. (You can do this carefully with a heated vegetable peeler, knife, etc...) 2. Now you need a dry iron set to an appropriate setting (all irons are different) and lots of craft paper, or lots of paper towels, or lots of old t-shirts that you're using for rags, or old paper grocery bags. 3. Once the iron is to temperature, lay whatever you are using to absorb the wax, directly over the wax (paper, t-shirt, paper towels, etc.) Gently iron over the absorbent layer--continuously moving the absorbent layer to a clean position. NOTE: KEEP THE IRON MOVING ALSO--YOU DON'T WANT TO SCORCH YOUR SOFA!! 4. Be patient, step 3 can take a long time--depending on the size of the area covered with wax and the thickness of the wax spill. ALSO, if there is just a tiny bit of wax on your sofa, you may want to let it set and then just peel it up--be careful, you can peel up the top layer of the microfiber with this method. There are commercial products that remove wax. I would not recommend these unless you have a very, very, dark/black sofa. (Most contain an oil that can stain your fabric) Good Luck Best Wishes!!

Q: I'm looking at this coffee table, matching end tables, and matching tv stand. I really like the clean transitional pottery barn look for my new apartment. The floors are a light tan, the walls will be probably also a light cream (its a small place so I want open-feeling colors). My problem is finding the sofa color to go. This is the SAME sofa in 2 colors (one is leather but I dont really care). Let me know your suggestions :): If you are paying that much for the coffee table alone, it better be solid wood or you are getting robbed. I would go with No. 1 also, but make sure it is comfortable. And, if you are one that puts your feet up, maybe you want to add pillows to that expensive coffee table. And make sure you use good coasters under your drinks or you will have stains. I would ask if the finish is a lacquer (finger nail polish will ruin it) or a poly. That way if something happens the finish, you will know how to deal with it. Ask the store if they carry small cans of the finish in case something does happen. And watch those baskets that slide in, do they have sharp edges or nails that may scratch. I love the sofa but I would need soft throw pillows and a throw. Use various colors to make it cheery.

Q: I dog-sat a friend's dog for three days and while the old girl was asleep on my sofa, her bladder released her urine onto one of my sofa cushions. My hound dog used to sleep on that sofa all the time, now she won't go anywhere near the sofa and I've tried all of the dog cleaners and all of the deodorizers! Does anyone have a homemade remedy? My hound dog will THANK YOU!!!: The problem is not so much the urine in the seat cover, but most likely it soaked through into the foam underneath. If the cushions are removable from the sofa there should be a zipper on the back of the seat cover. This will allow you to remove the foam insert inside. Take that out, measure it and call some local upholstery shops and get a quote on one of them cutting you a new foam core that you can insert back into the casing once you've thoroughly cleaned said casing. That is the only way you will truly eliminate the problem. If the casing is NOT removable and you have an attached seat then it gets more complicated and you will have to call out an upholsterer to come out and see how difficult it would be to replace the foam insert. Q: Im a military dependants and my husband next base is USA and we want me and the kids live with him, but we dnt have any visa to entering USA, can we use a Sofa visa in USA?: No you cannot use the SOFA stamp to come into the US. The SOFA stamp is for when you are in a foreign country with the US military. To get into the US you need to do the proper immigration process. The children if they are his, even though born outside the US are US Citizens so they will not need a Visa or immigration. you as the spouse will, as you were living overseas you could have applied for Citizenship earlier if you wished. You can go to the Embassy and do the paperwork.

Q: thoughts on this sofa-bed (style, colour)?: Great color. Design LOOKS COOL, but as a sofa doesn't look very comfortable to settle down in to watch tv or a movie. As far as the bed part, if it's only for use for the occasional guest, it should be alright. If it's going to be used all the time, you're going to see dips in it when you close it up to use it as a sofa.

Q: I noticed a big color difference form that spot compare to rest of the sofa. How could I get rid off the water color?: You may have faded the sofa. However, you could try cleaning the entire sofa and if you have an attachment piece and it is still wet remove as much water from that area as possible before hand. If the couch is faded, you may be better off just getting a slip cover. Good luck!
