- I don't know if your area has any stores, but Big Lots has sectionals right now for $299.00 they also have a web site!! Also, check around where you have flee markets, in my area there is usually a tractor trailer with new furniture on it for cheap money, and some Habitat for Humanity (reuse) stores have brand new furniture its more or less a shot in the dark but some get lots of new stuff in daily.. hope it helps

- Q: I want to entirely paint a Sofa and Wingback........ and im scared lol !!!....?Ok.... I have a old Sofa and matching chairs. - The table: no problem. Sand it and use exterior latex paint in your color of choice. The chairs and sofa: problem. You are never going to keep the moisture out of the stuffing/padding no matter what you apply to the upholstery. You might be able to use them outdoors for one season but after that they are going to be moldy. If you can find a humidity resistant stuffing material I would suggest stripping the chair and sofa to the frame, re-stuff them and re-upholster in one of the newer weather resistant fabrics. I would waterproof the wood frame first and paint any exposed wood with exterior latex. Good luck!
- Q: Hi, We are planning to buy a new set of leather sofas. It would be a 3 seater and two single seater sofas. Kindly let me know your suggestions and idaes as to which color we can go for. Our woodwork (showcase and the T.V unit) is very very dark brown. Our walls and flooring is half white (i.e. not pure white...but creamish in color). We are planning to paint our walls in light yellow after1 year. - hi sangeetha... with the colors you mentioned you may go with one of the following: 1. if you like the drama and to show your sofas then you can choose a dark brown similar to the one you already have in the room.. or a color that's not neutral like orange! 2. or to demonstrate a smoother transition without loosing emphasis on your new sofas... which is something i prefer... go for medium colors between the white (or later light yellow) walls... like a darker shade of beige or a lighter brown than the one you have...! 3. cream color or off-white (yellowish white)... which is suitable... but in this case you'll lose emphasis on the sofas and the emphasis will be on other accessories... if that's what you wish. may i also offer some tips: 1. ask the manufacturers to provide a sample of the leather, and take it to your room to view it in your room's lighting... it may look better or worse than in the showroom. 2. if you use neutral colors as i suggested you'll be more free with colors that you choose for the accessories and rugs and pillows... if you wish to use colors! 3. if you like this idea and if possible... one of the 1 seat sofas can be a different colors than the rest of the set... it'll give a modern and innovative look to your space... but make sure to distribute the pillows in a nice way then... hey... i hope i helped... good luck!

- No, you can't dye a microfiber sofa, but you can make slipcovers for it, or reupholster it with a darker fabric. There are several problems with trying to dye upholstered furniture. One is that dyeing synthetic microfiber requires that you boil it with a special kind of dye. You can't exactly boil the fabric that's on your sofa! Another problem is that excess dye must be rinsed out thoroughly; people who try dyeing upholstered furniture then find that the dye rubs off on the clothing of anyone unwise enough to sit on it. It is possible to use fabric paint, instead of dye, but it's a lot of trouble, and the fabric paint costs as much as having the sofa recovered. Fabric paint wears off very quickly compared to dye, since it sits on the surface of the fabric, so it's not a very long-term solution.

- Well I would try walking over to him and firmly tell him No when he does it, tell him to Get down or get off of the sofa ____ . Eventually he should get the idea but when he does get down after you tell him so, say Good boy!! and be very happy about it then tell him to sit, stay for about 30 secs or so... so he is focused on pleasing You... then grab a treat and offer it to him. I would also then show him to a place where he is welcome to romp around or lay upon. he should most definately have a comfy spot to play on although I agree it should probably not be the livingroom couch!! ~GL!!
