- Q:Hi there,I need someone to give me some advise.I brought a leather sofa a year ago and ever since I've had breathing problems.I also have a hazy head (it's like having head rush,but all the time)when I'm in the front room.I'm not a hundred percent sure it is the sofa because I also had a new carpet fitted at the same time!but I only have this problem in the front room.Please help because I'm at my wits end.My girlfriend doesn't have this problem and she thinks I'm crazy.Many thanks.

- Q:The sofa is an orangey-brown, just about two years old. The covers do not come off the cushions, so putting it in the wash machine is not an option. I tried a carpet cleaner, which seemed to work okay, but you can still see the faint outline of the stain. Is there anything else I can use?
- I also have a micro suede sofa, try shout, put it on, and scrub the stain around with an old toothbrush, I found you have to clean the whole cushion though or it does leave a ring mark. I use shout on any stains(i have two little kids), and then shampoo the whole cushion, if you don't have a shampooer, use the shout, then take a damp cloth and wipe the whole cushion. It will go back to being soft then.
- Q:I would like to recover them but they want $1000 just for the sofa. I could buy a new (junk but new) one for that. I prefer to keep these because I will probably retire next year and we can throw them out at that time. They are now both covered in green vinyl that is cracked in many places. Any ideas?

- We have suggestions: 1. Absorb the dust at least once per week. Pay attention to the dust in the corner. 2. If the pad is reversible, reverse it once a week to distribute the wear uniformly. It can be also flapped outdoors to soften the internal fiber, so that the flexibility of the sofa can be kept. 3.If there is some spotting on the sofa, dip the dishtowel some water to wipe it off. You’d better wipe it from the brim of the spotting. As for the velour sofa, do not use water, use the dry cleaning agent to clear it. 4. All the cover and lining should be cleared by dry cleaning, not by water, Forbidden blanching. 5. If the thrum is loosen, do not pull it by hand, use the scissors to cut it.
- Q:someone is giving me a sofa bed but it doesn't have the inner fold out bed. Can it still be a comfortable sofa without me falling in?
- You can use it, but it's going to feel a bit weird because the fold out bed part is what adds support/stability to the piece when it's being used as a sofa. All I can say is try it to see if it will be comfortable for you. If you find the manufacturer's tag on it, you can always contact the maker to find out if replacement mattress bed mechanism is available for the model that you have. If so, and you decide to order, just know that you'll have to have it installed by someone who works with upholstered furniture.

- As a house painter for many years, I can tell you that you can't paint a sofa. Try a can of saddle soap then use a leather conditioner to keep it protected from the dirt.
- Q:Two of the sofa's in my house are in front of a window. My dog will not stop sitting on the top of the sofa's because he likes to look out the window! It's such a habbit, even when the blinds are shut and he cannot see out, he still is up there. Now I have indents on the top of both sofa's. I have tried every thing..yet the second I turn around, he climbs back up and plops him but down again! Moving the sofa away from the window is my last resort, but I really don't want to. - I used to have a dog that did this too! she knew she wasn't allowed on the furnature, and if we were looking she would not go. however, as soon as we left the room, we heard her tags jingling as she jumped on the sofa or bed. you can't get rid of a bad habit unless you are there EVERY time to correct it. otherwise, they just figure they can't do it when your around. I have 2 suggestions. my first and better one would be to either crate her or block off the room when you can not supervise so she can not jump on the sofa when you are not looking. if this is just not possible you can try what are called snappy trainers. these are modified mouse traps that DO NOT hurt your dog. when touched they just make a loud noise and bounce in the air. this way the behavior is corrected even though you aren't there. the problem with these is that A-some dogs just don;t care. B-you have to reset them or when she comes later they won't go off. good luck!

- It depends on the other colors in the room. If you have a lot of other green furniture in the room, and the sofa is a similar shade of green, then yes I think it will go. But I would not reccomend it if you have a lot of other color furniture or if your walls are an off/tinted white.
