- Q: I live at home with my parents and we are getting new sofas for the first time in a long while. The old ones have a detailed floral pattern which I find very ugly and outdated, but my parents don't mind it. They are thinking about a similar pattern for the new sofas!I need your advice to suggest something more suitable.The room is a lounge with cream colored carpet and curtains, with off-white walls. The curtains have a goldish fringe and the room features a large fireplace which matches the walls. There is an upright dark brown piano sitting in the back of the room.Most of the rest of the house features white, brown or beige palettes.Please help! I'm no designer and I need your artistic input!

- Q: I really need to get to Japan and im hoping to get a nursing position there but it that falls through i was thinking about the exchange. If I work overseas as an AAFES employee in Japan will i get SOFA status? If i have SOFA I would be able to drive and so one without a VISA? is that correct? And where would i go if i got sick since i'm not a spouse or a dependent? Any past overseas DOD or AAFES employees have any good answers?
- Why do you NEED to get to Japan? Getting a job with AAFES from the US will be nearly impossible unless you are seeking an upper management position. Also, the SOFA we have with Japan heavily favors locals (Japanese) in the hiring for AAFES. Finally, the salary you get paid by AAFES for the other positions that may be available to you won't pay enough for you to live in Japan on. You would be better off trying to get a contract position (no guarantee of full SOFA benefits) or get a civil service job with a government agency. As for nursing, it is a very underpaid job in Japan...not the respect it gets in the US. In fact, there is a shortage and they have been importing Filipinos to fill the void and they pay them even less than they do Japanese. Nursing is not a good career path for a foreigner in Japan.

- I don't know about the sofas, but I own a Lane recliner - we've had it for 6 years now and it still looks and feels new. The cushions are all still firm and the padded arms are still fluffy - not all floppy like the cheap ones get after awhile. Oh - and it gets MAJOR use too - it's not just sitting in a room looking pretty. I haven't heard real great or bad things about La-z-boy (other than they're overpriced), but I'd buy a sofa from Lane in a heartbeat, but that's just my opinion. Good luck!

- Do you have a glass sliding door. I had the same problem and I live on the third floor. My buddies and I made a homemade pulley system with alot of rope and we actually took it in from the glass sliding door (wider) deck. Was quite a sight actually. My only other suggestions: Obviously unscrew the legs (I'm sure you've done that). Also: does your home have an outside entrance to the basement and then you could bring it up from there? Good luck
- Q: As i bought a new full leather sofa which it came a great discount, but after a few months ago i had realized that the sofa is not what i expected once i purchased it. The cater denied it and claim it was as per order without scutinize before. What i frown on is, i discovered the different between that both materials when i went to the outlet and them asked them insidiouslly. Indeed, it was like what i thought, so what will i do if they still assert it is full leather sofa? Tell me what i have to do next. Thank you, need a customer right.
- If the sofa is past the warranty period you will have to file a lawsuit to claim any money back. You should check with an attorney about the qualifications needed for an expert to examine the fabric to determine what exactly it is. I would suspect an upholsterer could do this but it's better to find out in advance. If it's not what you thought you were purchasing the attorney will help you determine if a lawsuit is the best answer.

- I do not have dogs but it seems it would be cheaper to put a big dog bed next to the sofa for them . It's cheaper to replace the dog bed than the sofa. My daughter has 3 small rescue dogs and they have there own beds in the family room.
- Q: My cat has urinated about 7 times on the same spot on our sofa. Every time he does that, I just scrub it with detergent and water or sometimes bleach. But this time, the odor won't go away... Pls help.. tnx..
- WARNING: DO NOT USE BLEACH, it cause it to urinate more in the same spot. I suggest you use X-O odor remover, Soak it really well and let dry. X-O odor remover, you can search online and get it delivered. It's an enzyme, colorless and odorless and completely safe. good luck
- Q: A sticker was stuck to my microfiber/suede (? - not sure which type of fabric it is) sofa and left a sticky residue on it. How can I remove the stickiness?
- I had sticky residue on a wood effect floor, and was worried about using anything other than water on it. I used baby oil, and it worked a treat. A tiny drop on a kitchen towel, and the residue came off easily. I then just wiped over the floor with a damp cloth. Try it on a bit of leather at the back first though to make sure that it won't damage the leather.
