- We had the same problem, and although I could get some of it out, we had the smell until we got rid of the couch. But there were more things I thought of later, after we'd replaced the couch. For example, if the covers come off, try taking them off and washing them. If the pillows are foam, you might try washing them down with a hose and letting them air-dry. If they still smell, get some Febreeze and spray everything. I should have done more of what I just told you, and maybe we would have had more luck--I stuck with the Febreeze.
