- That looks a lot like the sofa a tenant left in the suite I'm now living in, but this one is a hide-a-bed and way to heavy to lift for one person. So it was left behind. How tall is your doorway opening? Most are 82, but some older ones are taller, and a 91 sofa can be passed through them on end, if there aren't any serious obstructions right near the inside of the door. This requires at least two strong and experienced movers, btw. Add: I see your door is only 79 high. Sorry. In looking at the side or end view of that sofa, there is some soft padding on the top that could compress enough to fit through a 36 opening if the door is swung open way way wide and the padded part somehow compressed, say with cardboard and ropes. No guarantee that will work, though. Maybe the sofa can fit through a window or something? Otherwise, perhaps you should keep looking for a similar design that will fit.

- Q: I found a leather sofa for sale online that is brand new. The owner is selling it because they are moving and during the process of putting it into storage the back of the sofa was ripped. The tear is about four inches long. If I am getting a good price on the sofa is it worth purchasing? Can the leather be repaired cost efficiently?
- A rip certainly can be fixed, its what kept me in business for the last 11yrs ;-) You can go to a professional ( 4 inches is a long rip for a first timer) to have it repaired, or have the panel replaced. To give you an idea a rip like that might cost $275 or so to fix and the panel around $375. So if the piece is a quality piece ( all leather, no vinyl, not bycast) it could b worth while. Companies like mine can custom match difficult leather if your local upholsterer can get a match- we refinish leather to a sample you send

- It's my personal opinion that leather sofa's aren't as comfortable unless they are the extremely high end expensive type. Then there's a lot more work involved with caring for the leather. After using leather conditioners and soaps the item must be completely and meticulously rubbed and dried or you risk damaging or staining other fabrics that come in contact with the sofa. It's just too much work for me (I have lots of kids)- I prefer fabric that can be covered and steam cleaned.
