It sounds like a design made specifically for that book. The thing is, there is no need to purl a whole rug when it is generally easier to knit than to purl, and a purl is just the back side of a knit stitch. So you could knit the whole thing in whatever shape you like and just turn it over to have a purl stitch rug.

Q:I recently had an incident with my toddler and a light candle. The wax went all over the carpet.. bright red wax, and white carpet. I have tried using a carpet cleaner and hand scrubbing it with a brush. Any ideas how to get it out? Thanks: Place towel over hardened wax, them press the iron over the area until wax melts and sticks to the towel. Spray a little water on the wax before ironing. But the red color is another problem entirely. Once you get the wax out tho you might be able to use a cleaner on it to get the color out.

Substituting this into (1) gives: x^2 + (108/x)^2 = 225 == x^2 + 11664/x^2 = 225 == x^4 + 11664 = 225x^2, by multiplying both sides by x^2 == x^4 - 225x^2 + 11664 = 0 == (x + 12)(x - 12)(x + 9)(x - 9) = 0, by factoring == x = ±9 and x = ±12, by the zero-product property. Since the length of the rug must be positive: x = 9 and x = 12. From this, you can obtain that y = 12 and y = 9. Regardless, the dimensions of the rug are 9 ft by 12 ft. I hope this helps!

Q:I keep pads under my Oriental rugs. I bought rubber backed pads for all of them but I noticed that it's disintegrating - turning into a fine powder.
