Q: In the corner of my bedroom the carpet smells musty, almost like this mildew moldy smell even the lower part of wall stinks. It has a wooden border (if that helps) the water heater is also on the other side (outdoor patio). I've used baking soda, carpet cleaning spray. The manager had them remove the pad under the carpet only and had it steam clean but all this only seem to mask the smell for a few days. Today the supervisor came and said something about painted the walls. I know what mold/mildew smells like (for I lived in a place that had it for over 3 years) . But the management and there clean crew insists that its nothing. I even had a few friends come over smell the carpet they said it stinks. I don't know what else to do.....any suggestions?
check under the floorboards their may be a dead animal or a human being.
Q: What color is the carpet color in the hotel guest room in general?
This needs to be determined by your overall decor and the color of the interior furniture, or it may seem out of place and ruin the overall atmosphere. Can give the following suggestions: yellow and red color carpet, can make the room feel comfortable and warm, reduce the large room monotonous, open feeling;
Q: Our family just moved into an apartment with 4 year old carpet (the manager verified the installation date). We plan on moving in 4 years when my husband is done with medical school. Therefore, the carpet would be 8 years old. We would like to pay to replace the carpeting, but the manager is claiming that the carpeting we are looking at isn't quot;commercial gradequot; and that it won't last after we move. The manager also claims that the carpeting that is currently installed could potentially last another 4-8 years. The current rule here is that if you damage the carpet and it must be replaced within the first 7 years, you must pay x/7 of the value. My question is: If we trash our carpet and move out in 4 years, they won't be able to charge us. Why can't I just replace it now with carpeting that I like? Does this sound right? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
One reason you can't replace is because it isn't yours..you are only renters and until you get permission there really isn't much you can do If the carpet is bad, I would take pictures with or video with the date on them on hold on to that until you move out and get your deposit. He can't make you pay for normal wear and tear on carpet.
Q: What are the specifications of the carpet
The main material are polypropylene, nylon, wool, imported wool. Acrylic fibres。 Size and specification are determined by the volum of orders and actual demand. Carpet tile is mainly 50cm*50cm, specifications of fully covered blankets can be customized, high material types (cashmere, carpet, handmade carpets, Chris Muenster, Weill section of carpet) patterns can be designed according to the requirements.
Q: We've only lived in our brand new home for 1.5 years, and our carpet already has light patches! The carpet is that annoying tanish color that stains way easily, and it's stock manufactured home carpet, so it's not so great to begin with. A few weeks ago, I noticed a light patch in an area that would hardly ever be stepped on, even by our dogs. I don't think I've ever had to shampoo that area, except for in the summer when we had a guy shampoo the whole house. I decided to shampoo our carpets during Xmas break, and I'd barely begun when I noticed 2 more light patches! I highly doubt it's from our carpet cleaner. We use the same stuff the carpet guy used, and we've used it dozens of times without any problems. I decided to just let our carpet be dirty rather than risk any more damage, just in case. Ever had problems like this? I read a little about carpet dyes. Any experience?
If your home is a double wide (or larger), and you did not order it direct from the factory, then there is a good chance it sat on the dealer's lot for some time...and its possible some sunlight was allowed in thru the marriage wall. The marriage wall usually just has a layer of plastic over it for transport...some dealers leave it on while the home is on their lot, and some don't. Even a small hole in the plastic can result in a large faded area if it was facing the sun. (Some homes will sit on a dealerships lot for a year or so, before they are sold....plenty of time for the sun to cause some fading) There is also the possiblity that your cleaning chemicals did cause some fading....they all come with a warning to 'spot check' a section to see if they will cause any fading, before you are to use them all over the carpet. Since you mention dogs in the home, pet urine could also be a factor. And of course, there is always the chance that you just got a bad quality carpet to begin with. Different manufacturers use varying quality of carpet. Some are pretty good. Some are pretty cheap. A lot of the carpet being made today is synthetic...(some even use recycled plastic). Things like nail polish (or remover), or 'kool-aid' (its actually the sugar in the drink that does the damage) can actually alter the fibers chemically. Bleach dripped on the carpet will do the same, even if it is wiped up immediately. If a rag has been used to clean with bleach, or acetone (an ingredient found in most nail polish removers) is dropped on the carpet, or used when damp to wipe the carpet, it will cause the carpet to fade. If the carpet is in good shape, physically... little wear and tear, no holes, etc... then you may want to just have a professional come in to dye the carpet. Usually, this costs less than replacing the carpet, but get some quotes for replacing it too. Good Luck
Q: I am creating a pirate themed room for my son and i need a rug because i made him a pirate ship bed.
I give up me swashbuckling days long ago, lad. Now I runs a bakeshop in Portobello what brings in a pretty penny and many a gold doubloon besides. Me goods is well-liked an' me prices notoriously high. What? You never heard o' the pie-rates of the Caribbean?
Q: Would a K?rcher pressure washer clean a rug as successfully as it cleans a flagstone?
Maybe, if it's a cheap rug that can take the abuse of the water pressure you take it outside so that the gallons gallons of water you end up using don't end up in the house, but it's kind of overkill I honestly wouldn't do it if you care about the rug's lifespan.
Q: Great landlord. Don't want to damage beautiful floors. Need to have rug lay flat. In living room. Carpet is thin. needs padding
A true pad won t really work since it ll bunch up,make it to thick and cause a tripping hazard.. What you should use is a special mat made just for rugs over hardwood. This type allows the rug to stay it place w/o slipping and bunch up, allows the wood to properly breathe and not stain the wood . These are bought any where wood and flooring are sold, just get the kind made for rugs over wood. Since you know your rug size you can get the closest size to your rug. You can even cut these and trim them to fit so the whole rug is covered from below. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
Q: I know carpet pythons are semi arboreal but do they need a vertical terrarium or would one be happy in a horizontal cage. And what is the minimum terrarium size for an adult jungle carpet python? Thanks:)
Most adult jungles can be housed comfortably in a 3x2 enclosure. The really large ones though will benefit from a 4x2 cage. I like at least 18 inches of height in the cage to provide opportunities for climbing. Temperature range should be 80-90°F during the non breeding season with moderate humidity. Its recommended that branches be provided, and they will spend quite a bit of time using them.
Q: I want to clean my carpet but stainz and deep down dirt is a problem, is there something i can add to the water of my carpet cleaner along with the cleaner i would use to improve the results? And maybe there is a home remedy for this and something for a pre-spot cleaner to help break up the stains? Thanks for the help
White vinegar works excellent, add 1 cup to the water in your carpet cleaner, it's a natural antibacterial cleaner and deodorizer and leaves no residue behind. To remove stains, fill a spray bottle 1/2 water 1/2 vinegar and spray liberally on stain, let sit 5 mins. fold up a white cloth, lay on stain and stand on it, turn it over and repeat, open cloth and rub stain, fold cloth, repeat until cloth comes back clean. To prevent stains after cleaning the carpet, buy a can of scotch guard carpet protector ($5) and spray carpet evenly while carpet is wet, avoid walking on it til dry, spills will bead on top of the carpet for easy clean up. Vinegar aroma will dissipate totally when carpet is dry.
