- Q: I am renting this house and the carpet smells. I don't know why...it's not dog or cat urine or anything like that. Do the synthetic fibers the carpet are made out of or the cushion under the carpet cause this odor...it really builds up if you are out of the house for a day or two...and what can one do to fix this...shampooing didn't work
- Since you shampooed the carpet, the smell might be in the pad under the carpet. If it was urine, you can go to a pet store and buy a solution which breaks down the urine. Getting smell out of the pad it difficult. You may want to get an ionizer to see if that helps........

- Q: Okay, i already have carpet in my house but the thing is...the carpet in the living room is hideous it doesn't match anything that i'm trying to do!! - Sure you can, my daughter just did exactly this. She found a rug, that matched all her furnishing, and had a bit of the color of the existing carpet color so it flowed well and it looks really nice. It can take alot of searching. I dont know where you live, in some areas people sell rugs on the side of the road type people or at swap meets, have the best prices and seem to have the most interesting types. IKEA has rugs that are pretty reasonable too if you have one near you. To simply get carpet laid over your carpet can be done, but, pretty much when you move and pull it up the carpet below for some reason gets really damaged this way. Having a huge rug that you can occassionally pull back and vacuum under is better. Happy hunting!!!!!
