- You can't actually get rid of the burns. The carpet where it is burned no longer exists, it's not like taking out a stain. What you could try is to find a remote spot of matching carpet, a closet or something, a place where it won't be noticed if you take a little sample of carpet. Cut out the area around the burn, an inch by inch section or so, and also cut a piece from the closet that is the exact same size. Replace the burnt piece with the closet piece. Some strong glue should hold it in place. If that doesn't work, I'm out of ideas. That has worked for me though. Good luck.
