- I recommend professional cleaning but if youre just hard headed and insist on a home brew here ya go...If your carpet is synthetic material(nylon, polyester, olefin) depending on the type of soiling, Tide will work excellent, but dilute dilute dilute. Only use 1 drop to 5 gallons of water. With that, add 2 cups of 30volume hydrogen peroxide(can be found at sally's beauty supply for $3 a quart). If your carpet is natural fiber such as wool, dont be a cheap a$$, get it professionally cleaned. If you need something to spot clean you need some thing on the acid side of the pH scale, equal parts of vinegar and water will work fine. It will stink when you use it, but when it dries the smell will go away.
- Q: I got a rug burn on my toe Monday and not quite sure how to treat it. When I looked up how to treat rug burns, every site said that they were like 1st degree burns or a sunburn and should be pretty much treated the same way. However mine is open and for the first few days, was leaking pus and a clear liquid. It hasn't healed up yet and I have been treating it as a cut. - I/ve bought multiple rugs from OKorder. In fact, I decorated my newly built master bedroom in a Moroccan theme, using 5 rugs I bought on OKorder. I was totally satisfied. They were all older rugs, and did not have the fringe intact, but that didn't bother me. Just read the descriptions carefully. Pay attention to the number of threads per inch. - I have never heard of the tenant changing the carpet. Usually the apartment complex will look at and assess the carpet to determine if it can be cleaned to a reasonable degree. This is done after you have moved everything out and handed in your keys. If the carpet is older than six years (at least in my complex) when the renter is moved out then it is automatically replaced, saving whatever we can for patches in other apartments such as flood damage or burn holes. I recommend having a professional carpet cleaning company with a truck mounted steam cleaner come and give you their assessment on the carpet. Ask them if they think they can get the carpet clean. If not, don't have them do it, as you will be wasting your time and money. As far as the carpet replacement goes, depending on your location ( I'm located in the Midwestern United States) You can figure on about $10.00 a square yard, depending on the installers agreement with the complex and the quality of the carpet and pad it could be a little more or a little less, but $10.00 is a pretty safe estimate.. This is then deducted from you deposit check before it is sent to you. If the carpet is in reasonable condition then you are not charged anything for the automatic steam cleaning that takes place when a tenant moves out. GOOD LUCK!!!

- If you mean wall to wall carpeting, you just have to check at carpet stores until you find the colour you want. They might or might not have every colour in stock but you can look at their samples. If you mean an area rug, it will be really hard to find. I looked for a teal-tone area rug for a couple of years until I found one at Ikea. You can have carpet off a roll cut to size and bound on the edges, too, for an area rug.

- I love it! You have great taste. I'd go will some soft silk drapes that gently flow and maybe puddle on the floor in a cream, gray or tan, with a contrasting colored tassel to hold them back. If you want a printed drape, I'd still go silk and stick with a contemporary pattern. Rug options are limitless. When shopping for a rug, try to pull out a color in your other items. I find it is striking to have that be a small almost unnoticeable color in the rug, but it will pop because it is in another item. For example a printed rug that is predominantly brown, but has little hints of purple in it. Alone you might not notice the purple in the rug, but the pillows make it pop out. I'd go with abstract art given the contemporary nature of the couch... maybe a canvas giclee.
