Q:I switched on the pump and smoke came out of it, i opened the pump n found it hadsome water probably caused the shock. How to repair it or is it dead?? ** its not a wellpump just a normal one that pump the water to the tank from a small reserve
Yep,.. you let the smoke out.... gotta get another motor
Q:changed the thermostat. it overheats but cools down a heat bar or two idling at stoplights. i filled up the coolant reservoir when i changed the thermostat, drove it about 2 miles(engine was already up to temp when i started) and it overheated. drove it two miles back going about 35-40 and it never went above normal but was still overheating. checked the reservoir and it was empty. stuffed a hose in it and plugged it up with a towel to force water in to see if it was leaking anywhere, no leaks. while running with the rpms up the top hose is easy to squeeze. makes me think water pump. but if i go over 45 it over heats makes me think clutch fan.
So if i understand, you are losing water from your system but no evidence of where it is going. I can think of two options. Heater core, but you may get a coolant smell inside the car, steam on the interior of windshield. You can check this by connecting the heater hoses directly, bypassing the heater core. If it still loses water, look for foamy oil on the dipstick or on the oil filler cap. If present then the other guy is right - headgasket. I would also look into flushing the system, or replacing the radiator - it may be clogged.
Q:How many kinds of pumps are there? What are the advantages of soft start?
Soft start is prepared, hard start is not prepared, the machine suddenly can not stand! Ha-ha
Q:overheating.it has a new thermostat,radiator is clean.temp stays normal during idle,rises when i start to drive.ac is off when this happens.its a 4.7 dodge durango.can water pump simplyquot;go badquot;without ever leaking?
The short answer to your question: It is unlikely that a water pump will go bad without leaking, but weirder things have happened. Your thinking is right overheating only when you drive is an indication of limited flow, either caused by a restriction (radiator, hose, thermostat), an air bubble, or a bad pump. Are you sure that the air is bled out of your system? If you have an air pocket in your engine or at the pump, you will get reduced flow. I think that the 4.7 Durango has a radiator cap, if so, with the engine cold, take the cap off, fill it, and start the engine. If you get bubbles every time you rev the engine, then you may have a bad head gasket, this would introduce bubbles in the system... Make sure that the lower radiator hose is not collapsing. Most of these hoses have a stiff spring inside to keep them from collapsing when the water pump is running. Otherwise, my guess would be that your pump is bad, or you have more restrictions in your system. Good luck.
Q:My car overheats in hot temperatures I have try everything except replacing the water pump and radiator how can I tell when its time to change each one and is it a do-it-yourself job
Water pumps are very simple. They only fail if 1) They spring a leak, 2) Their bearing freezes up, or 3) Their drive belt breaks or slips. I'd suspect the thermostat first, a clogged radiator second, or a bad electric fan or relay. They are easy to replace on most pre-1960's cars, and a complete hassle on many newer models. Good luck with the project.
Q:Installed new water pump on 90 Jeep. Noticed antifreeze around the edges of the pump. Took it off, replaced with new gasket and sealer, but it seams to be leaking again.
Most likely cause: old gasket/sealer was not fully removed prior to installing new gasket. The gasket surfaces must be absolutely clean. Possible incorrectly machined gasket surface on replacement pump, but that's highly unlikely.
Q:I have a big garden ,I have plant all kinds of flowers, including roses,Chrysanthemum, but everyday i have to water them one after one pot,a little waste time and waste my energy.who can help me ?tks

Q:30kW what is the flow rate of the pump?
Without a lift, how can I calculate it for you?
Q:i own a 02 gti 337 i bought back in 04 the water is leaking bad and im pretty sure the water pump has gone bad on it i had it replaced awhile back but the check engine came on it isnt this time so i think its just a leak from the seal my question is where is the water pump located is it on the timing belt or is it on a seperate pulley i dont wanna mess with the timing belt and i dont have the money to get this replaced so any help would be great thanks

Q:starting from the water pump, and returning to the water pump
Most cooling systems pump the coolant out of the engine through the top radiator hose. In the radiator. Out the radiator through the bottom hose. A by-pass system can be found on most cars and it includes the water pump and smaller diameter hose.l these smaller hoses rout the collant to certain components such as the heater core (which provides passenger compartment comfort). There many other variables depending of the car. Engine oil coolers. Intake manifold warm-up passages, I may be leaving some info out here but that is pretty much your basic cooling system routing. Best wishes.
