Q: How to convert kVA (kilo-volt Ampere) to kg/h (kilogram per hour) for diesel generator set (genset)? I want to know the relation about the energy produced (kVA) to the fuel that used (kg/h) in the genset, either it used more diesel fuel or not. i.e the kVA amount produced is 106kVA and the rpm is 1500rpm: There is no way to make a direct conversion, but an estimate can be attempted, in lieu of an actual measurement. For the size of generator and speed you are using, a reasonable fuel rate of about 9.1 gal/hr is probably representative for full load. In that case, assuming 3.19 kg/gallon, you will have 29 kg/hr for your engine. So, for full load, you might use a factor of 3.65 kVA per 1kg/hr. As the load decreases, your conversion factor will reduce somewhat.

Q: I Have an ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard with the chipset fan going at over 6000 RPM, an AMD Athlon 64 4000+ with the CPU fan at about 3000 RPM, and a GeForce 6200LE with a very high pitched fan that's dead annoying. To cut a long story short, my PC makes way more noise than it should be, now I don't have any case fans installed but that shouldn't mean that it has to make this sort of howling, believe me, if you were sitting next to it, you'd understand where I'm comin from, it's like tryin to sleep at night with a diesel generator in your room while it's downloading stuff. Q: I am trying to use a marine deep cycle battery and power inverter to power a chest freezer in an ice cream truck. The issue is that the marine battery will drain in a few hours. I was told told that I could connect the inverter to the car battery as well as the marine battery and while the engine is running, the car battery would be charge the marine battery through the inverter. Can anyone tell me how this works and how I should do the wiring?thanks: Just run heavy gage wire from one battery to the other, pos to pos neg to neg, no big deal, however your alternator ain't gonna like working that hard and will go see Allah in a very short period of time, so a high output alt will be needed sooner rather than later, and with the price of gas and seeing the shape some of those ice cream trucks are in, I see a lot of melted ice cream in your future. maybe a small generator would be more cost effective. almost forgot. if the wattage output of your inverter is not enough to power a freezer,which take quite a bit, you'll smoke the motor out of your freezer in a matter of days if not hours. yea lots of melted ice cream

Q: I intend to buy Diesel Generator sets in USA but the problem is that the Generator sets available in USA are 50/60Hz /1800rpm, pf 1.0 , 277/480V whereas in my country the Frequency is 50Hz , Voltage is 220/380V and power factor is 0.8. What shall I do to convert the US spec's to what is my requirement.: You can adjust the frequency to 50HZ by running the generator at a speed lower than 1800rpm., that is 1500 rpm. At this speed check the terminal voltage. The voltage can be adjusted to 380 volts using the potentiometer adjustment on the generator panel. The 220 volts can be obtained by using a parallel connection assuming that the generator is wye connected. Actually, the voltage of 380 volts to neutral is 219.39 volts, which is approximately 220 volts. Hence, you may not have to reconnect the generator terminals. The difference in P.F. will not matter much.
