- Q: A couple years ago the power in our area was out for two whole weeks because of ice and such, we stayed warm thanks to gas heating but now I'm in an all electric mobile home in the same area. - add up the watts of the things you want to be on during an outage and get a generator with a little bit bigger output. you don't want to overwork a generator that's too small. bigger is always better.

- The only thing I can think of is watch the second Thomas Edison Bio film and pay careful attention to when he is working on lighting up the city using his electric light bulb. He had to synchronize two generators at that point. I'm sure you can find the answer there.

- The military has some Kawasaki KLR 650's converted to diesel, try hunting for one of them at army surplus stores. You do realize that bio-diesel takes more energy to produce than gasoline right? That's why it has been abandoned as an alternative fuel. But by all means go ahead, a diesel bike would be cool!
- Q: I know in some cases Electric companies will buy energy from someone who's solar panel's/wind turbines are overproducing. I think the system's have to be properly grid tied, i.e. either installed by or inspected by someone from the power company. - yes as long as the generator has been retro-fitted to use biofuel and not petroleum. A diesel generator would do this best Probably algae would be the best thing to use as you can get several generations a month from it. hemp takes a long season to grow and really only the seeds would have enough sugar to be used to distill biofuel. Beets (which you can get several crops a season from as they are fairly fast growing) would be far better than hemp for fuel as you want high sugar or starch crops (starch can be converted to sugar). But why run a generator on biofuels when it would be easier to run it on solar or wind
- Q: Hi, i have a peugeot diesel conected to an 8kw alternator via a lay shaft engine 2275rpm alt 1500rpm at 2250rpm engine produces max torque 70lb ft, alt should only need 33lb ft. under heavy load engine allmost stalls. I think i need avr control? Can you help with advice and componants? Many thanks Andre
- The alt is what RPM you will set the engine atMost 120-240 volt are 50 HRX and run at 1800or 3600 so if it's the 3600 back end your using the wrong engineUnless you use a pulley and belt to get the correct RPMMY 8K Diesel marine ONAN direct drive 3cyc runs at 1800 Rpm If your over loading the genset than no engine will workwhat is the load your pulling as 8K is 80 amps Max single 240V or 40 amp double 120V

- drain the fuel tank and refill it with diesel.I would use died fuel because there isn't road tax on it .That is why it is red. you can use home heating fuel in it to it will work the same.I use both in my generator.gas will make the engine run to hot and it will lock up .and a locking fuel cap is a good idea
