- Q:I live in KARNATAKA,INDIA.Due 2 powercuts i am plannin 2 buy 1 of the aboveI want my answer URGENTLY
- diesel generator is your best bet. solar battery inverter is very inefficient.
- Q:Diesel fuel savers are available today for diesel engines. These can be used for most diesel engines from school buses, big rigs, cranes, off-road equipment, marine use, and generators. If a mandate was passed to require these units to be installed tremendose sums of money could be saved by end users. For more info visit bestdieselsolutions
- there's a narrative in in the present day's new york cases correct to the EPA attempting out hundreds of those products and located that the few that do artwork, do not artwork nicely sufficient to justify the value.
- Q:Do they look any different? I can not see the difference and I do not know which trains are electric and which ones are diesel. If there is any difference in appearance, what is the difference?
- One of the most obvious differences is that usually, (with the exception of DMU's, or Diesel Multiple Units, and railmotors, railcars, etc), is that Diesels don't have windows, except for the cab windows. Another obvious diffence is Diesels (as said above in previous answers) do not obtain power from overhead wires, or Catenary as they are called. Electric trains are a lot quieter, they don't have a sort of diesel smell about them, they accelerate faster, and they don't emmit any exhaust. Electric trains can also be pointed out easily if the Pantograph, or current collector can be seen. The Pantograph is a moveable frame on the roof of one or more carriages in an electric train that makes contact with the Catenary (electric wires above the track) and takes the power to the train, hence making it go. Electric trains can also receive electricity from a live third rail, or in some cases (such as the London Underground), 2 additional live rails (forth rail). A confusing point - Diesels can operate on track with and without Catenary, however, (overhead) electric trains can ONLY operate on track with Catenary. Likewise for thrid rail electrics, they can only operate on track with an additional live rail. Hope this helps.
- Q:hi i am looking for a generator to provide roughly 25kv for home use. roughly the need is4-5 1.5 ton ac3 fridge3 lcd 32-60 inch6 fansa15-20 lights2-3 computer/laptopmultimedia system2 water pumpssome additional usual house requirementswhat option do have on the basis of following:initial costdiesel / petrol / natural gassizenoise leveloperating costoverall efficiencyi personally like HONDA, but they have only 6.5kv available in pertol/gasi want to avoid diesel due to cost and bad fumesin petrol i can make it convertable to gas as wellbut people guide me that if i go in 25kv than the option is only for diesel.pls guide me.imran.
- GENERACHas a 25 kw that uses natural gas. Also packaged units that start on power failure We have a 600 kw that is nat. gas and isn't too hard on gas
- Q:How long can I run a Diesel Power Generator before I have to stop it to give it a rest? Also, how many years can I expect a Cummins Diesel Generator to run if maintained properly? One more thing. In the spec sheet of the generator I'm looking at, it states 161 gsm/hp-hr. Is that 161 Grams per Horse Power per hour?So what does that meanHow many liters per hour does that translate too. Thanks for your answers.Greetings from Iran
- The engine can run indefinitely without needing to stop for a rest provided it is properly maintained and cooled. You should change the oil and filters after every 200 hours operating time. Properly maintained you should expect at least 25-30 years operating time from the engine. Neglected and it could need replacing in less than 10. Not sure what 161 gsm/hp-hr means. Unlikely to be grams, but gallons per horsepower hour would be extremely high. Need to look further into it
- Q:I would like to find out if a product exists which permits remotely using a mechanical switch to power cycle a diesel generator. Maybe one that has an IP which I could connect to or uses RF. Literally just turn on/off the power without interacting with it physically.
- Should be doable, except I can see a problem - How will you know if the thing started or not ??
- Q:Can any anyone help me with this. The generator is a brushless, air-cooled diesel generator without AVR. It is kinda old and it's made from Japan. The manufacturer is Yanmar.
- Open up the end of the generator and check the capacitor. It may need to be replaced. You may also have to flash the field if it hasn't been used for some time. Try one of these techniques 1. Plug the electric drill into the generator receptacle. If the drill is reversible, move the direction switch to the forward position. Start the engine. While depressing the trigger on the drill, spin the drill chuck in reverse direction. This will excite the field and the generator will now produce electricity. If spinning the chuck one direction does not work, try spinning the chuck in the other direction as you may have the reverse switch positioned backwards. Use caution not to get your hand or other materials caught in the chuck. As soon as the field is excited, the generator will produce power and the drill will turn on. 2. If the engine is working fine, but there is no output voltage try this trick. It may work on standard alternator type generators, but not on those which use an inverter. It worked for me in the past, but try at your own risk. First check to ensure that all circuit breakers and fuses are ok. Shut off the engine and remove any cords from the generator. Plug in a cord with bare wires on the other end to one of the 120VAC outlets. Connect one end of the cord to a car battery. Very quickly touch the other wire to the other battery terminal. Do not leave it there longer than to create a few sparks or you may destroy the windings. If the residual magnetism in the alternator had weakened, this may be enough to get it started again.
- Q:How much is the waste of the power that may be lost in the combination of two engine and where I can find the diagram that shows the relation between rpm and HP in the combined two diesel engine.this two engine combined with a clutch that synchronize two engine for two input in gears and single output.
- It's best to connect them at the crank so that they can be timed to fire in a manner that your getting the most amount of power you can. This has been done in applications as small as a .12cc engine all the way up to huge engines that power large ships. The most common place I used to see it is with gas engines for tractor pull. The engines do sync up and will run together when you pair them up thru a clutch
- Q:Having lots of diesel fuel to make electricity (200-800KW)is it better to use a diesel generator or a steam turbine?(Remember : the only way to produce steam is burning diesel)Does anybody know how many KWh can make per 1000gal?
- Diesel Turbine Generator

- Date and Time: The Chernobyl nuclear accident occurred on Saturday, April 26, 1986, at 1:23:58 a.m. local time. Location: The V.I. Lenin Memorial Chernobyl Nuclear Power Station was located in Ukraine, near the town of Pripyat, which had been built to house power station employees and their families. The power station was in a wooded, marshy area near the Ukraine-Belarus border, approximately 18 kilometers northwest of the city of Chernobyl and 100 km north of Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. The Accident: On April 26, 1986, the operating crew planned to test whether the Reactor No. 4 turbines could produce enough energy to keep the coolant pumps running until the emergency diesel generator was activated in case of an external power loss. During the test, power surged unexpectedly, causing an explosion and driving temperatures in the reactor to more than 2,000 degrees Celsius—melting the fuel rods, igniting the reactor’s graphite covering, and releasing a cloud of radiation into the atmosphere. Causes: The precise causes of the accident are still uncertain, but it is generally believed that the series of incidents that led to the explosion, fire and nuclear meltdown at Chernobyl was caused by a combination of reactor design flaws and operator error. Number of Deaths: By mid-2005, fewer than 60 deaths could be linked directly to Chernobyl—mostly workers who were exposed to massive radiation during the accident or children who developed thyroid cancer. Estimates of the eventual death toll from Chernobyl vary widely. A 2005 report by the Chernobyl Forum—eight U.N. organizations—estimated the accident eventually would cause about 4,000 deaths. Greenpeace places the figure at 93,000 deaths, based on information from the Belarus National Academy of Sciences.
