- Horses don't need blankets/rugs. Unless they have just moved to a colder climate, or have health problems, or are severely underweight, or you are extremely stingy with hay/forage, your horse does not need blankets. Especially minis, who have so little surface:mass ratio and SO much hair. Please don't create unnecessary problems by putting any sort of rugs or sheets on your mini. They create more problems than they help. Add: I assume you mean mid-teens Celsius? I have kept horses in places with temps much colder than that, with their fuzzy coats and all the hay they want to eat, and they stayed healthy. Try below zero Fahrenheit. If they have their natural coat and are acclimated to the weather, blankets are not only unnecessary but can make a horse sick. The horse has evolved for millennia to adapt to its environment. It can fluff up its coat or lay it flat according to the hourly changes in weather. When you put a blanket on, you interfere with that ingenious design. The horse can overheat and get chilled very quickly. Let your horse regulate its own body temp. If you see him shivering, THEN see about adding layers. Horses are most comfortable around 40* F. This is the temperature at which scientists have measured, it takes the least effort for the horse to regulate its body temp. To start blanketing at that temp is blatant interference with the horse's bodily functions. (Yes, I know lots of people who do that here in the USA too. I used to work at a stable that used that as their standard to blanket for turnout - if they'd even let the poor things go out.) Sorry if these facts don't agree with some of your opinions. My shoulders are broad and my skin is thick; a few TDs from uneducated folks don't hurt a bit.

- Pick up as much beer as possible with paper towels. Use a solution of diluted vinegar. About 2-4ounces in a quart should do it. If the smell persists make the solution stronger. Pour the solution on the beer spill area and allow it to soak for a couple of minutes. Then dry the area as best as possible with paper towels. Place a fan on the rug at the spill and allow it to run until the it is dry. Check for the beer of beer and repeat if needed. You may want to use a carpet deodorizer from the cleaning section of the drug store after doing the above procedure. Soaking up as much of the beer and drying the rug is key to keeping the beer smell to a minimum.

- There are pretty much three things it could be.... 1 - Powder - There are several cleaning products that are on the market today that people sprinkle on the rug so that it smells good - every time you vacuum more will come out till it is all gone. 2 - Dust - If it is an old rug then there is a good chance that it is simply dust. 3 - Fibers - If the rug is not in good condition then sometimes the fibers break apart and fall out when you vacuum but this is most common with old silk rugs. If you think it is one of the top two then simply turn over the rug and slowly vacuum the from the back (make sure to use a vacuum with bristles). The vibrations will cause whatever is in the rug to fall out. After you are done - turn the rug over and vaccume the front side, collect the dust from the floor and repeat the process till almost all the white powder is gone. Hope I was helpful :)

- Quick fix: Febreeze. Won't clean it, but will hide the smell. Real fix: Clean with rag water then wash the whole rug in a (large) cold cycle with Woolite--NO dryer tho... hang it on a line somewhere. (Usually they're ok to wash; check for a tag on the rug that actually says it's ok first.) Also, don't overload your washer or you may break the washer. If the rug looks too big for your washer, you can always take it to a laundromat (won't get nastiness in your clothes washing machine either).

- Yeah, skip the rug. I have the same situation where I can't fit a rug for a space where the chairs need to be pulled out. I just have a couple of rugs in other parts of the room. Much easier to clean under the table and no stains on the rugs.
