- Q: The other day I just found out that I had a hand-made rug that was made in Iran and bought by my grandparents about 10-15 years ago, the rug is about 6x8 and they paid around $2000 dollars for it.My question is what is the proper way to clean a rug that is hand-made? It has not been cleaned in years only vacuumed... and also is there a market place for these rugs? if I do decide I want to sell it.
- I also have an old middle eastern rug and I only vacuum it. I understand that the best thing to do if it needs cleaning is to consult an antique rug dealer who might do the cleaning in house or be able to refer you. I have heard the usual rug cleaning services are not right for this type of work.

- That is why you need two rugs, having one to dry off, the other to use. It should be alright, but never put a wet rug on a dry horse. It will get a chill and it is mightily uncomfortable. Imagine putting a wet shirt or socks on! Not a good feeling. No you cannot put a rug on a wet horse unless it is stabled and you have a sweat sheet as well. Put that on, cover the horse with hay or straw and then put the stable rug on inside out to prevent the lining getting damp. After an hour or so, remove everything, brush the horse down and replace the rug the right way out. Definitely dry first - I refer to the matter of the socks!

- I have no idea, but maybe it's because it is simple to maintain. For instance if it is a hardwood floor it would be harder to keep it presentable and also it doesn't absorb the impact of our feet while walking around the house. In hardwood floor we have to wipe it and mop. I guess it just looks more comfortable. In my country we also had a lot the custom of having carpeted floors, but now we don't due to allergies stuff. If we have one we have to keep it very clean.

- Q: they are 4months old, a boy girl, fixed.they keep scratching and pulling up the edges so that its coming up in strings/scrunched threads. I've tried blocking the area with objects, and a scratching post, b4 but they just go behind it somehow or go find somewhere else to pull up the rug. i've tried to remove them from the area when they do and say things like no off..but of course being cats they dont listen to me :(how can i make them stop????????????? any help would be amazing! thanks in advance!!
- I had the same problem with a 2 month old kitten and a 12 year old cat. First, every time I see them scratching the rug, I carried them over to the scratch post and gently lift up their paws and place them over it. To further encourage this, I have 2 cat treehouses - so when I'm playing with them I also deliberately scratch the posts of the treehouses, and the cats would come running (because of the noise) and incidentally scratch the posts trying to reach for my hands. I also hold up their toy mice over the posts so they keep scratching over the posts. I kept doing that and although they did still scratch the rug, they didn't do it as often. I did eventually remove the rug and they only scratch the posts now, they don't even scratch my furniture anymore. I don't know, maybe I just got lucky. I just feel so much pride now when I see them scratching the posts.

- It depends on the size of the snake . They continue to grow so it really depends . I would say a 20 gallon long aquarium would be fine for most. You do not necessarily need a vertical cage . You do need a cage large enough so your snake can have hides/wooden boxes in different areas so he can have a warmer box closer to a light when he wants to warm up and a cooler hide/box in another area so he can regulate his temp. You can stack wooden boxes ( easily made ) with an entrance hole so that each one gets warm as it gets closer to your heat lamp. You could also put damp moss in one for a more humid hide . They are beautiful snakes a easy to care for . Just have accurate digital thermometers and one to measure your humidity level. I like to have one artificial branch for them to climb on.
