Q:whats a good inexpensive stream cleaner that will make my carpet look like new again! we moved into our apartment almost a year ago and it was a very rainy muddy day, ever since my carpets have just been plain nasty looking, its only the livingroom and diningroom though. What can i get that will actually work: Personal carpet shampooers are only good for touch up cleanings. They do not get out the down deep soils. Which would not work for you in this case. If you purchase one, be sure to get one that heats up the water, Bissell does make an alright product. The rental ones are a bit better, but still are not able to get down deep and do not pull as much water out as they should, leaving moisture in the carpet that can cause bacteria. Consider having your carpet professionally cleaned at least once a year, and use your own carpet shampooer for touch ups.

Q:I used a carpet shampooer along with a solution of natures miracle and a small scoop of oxy clean to clean my carpets. My cat had peed a spot in one of my rooms, so i just went ahead and shampooed all the carpet areas. I know that the Nature's miracle says that the carpet has to be 100% dry for the odors to go away. Well it has been over a week and I have noticed that everywhere I shampooed now smells horribly like cat urine! It is overwhelming! What do i do to get rid of it....do i just need to get a new shampooer?: You follow the cleaning with at least one rinse with clean, hot tap water. The color of the extraction will tell you if more rinses are necessary or not. To recap: 1 - Vacuum area to be cleaned thoroughly with a vacuum cleaner. 2 - Nature's Miracle to pretreat stains, let sit for at least 15 minutes. 3 - Pretreat entire area to be cleaned with an oxy clean solution, let sit for at least 15 minutes. 4 - Clean the area with carpet cleaning solution, using an extraction machine, following the manufacturer's instructions. 5 - Rinse freshly cleaned area with clean, hot tap water, using the extraction machine. 6 - Allow to thoroughly dry 7 - Vacuum with vacuum cleaner to remove any remaining loosened dirt.

Q:Someone please tell me by 12:00am april 28 2007 all the steps of putting carpet down!!: It depends on the type of carpet, some use mild adhesieves and others have to be stretched...if it is the kind that has to be stretched you will need a tack strip around the pirimeter of the room and padding cut to fit on the inside of the tack strip, then you will need to rent a carpet stretcher which has teeth on it and get down on your knees and knee kick the stretcher to stretch the carpet towards the tack strip all the way around the room, very hard on the knees....when you get the carpet stretched to the tack strip tap the carpet onto the tack strip with a hammer, good luck.

This based on you getting a 15' wide carpet (thus no seams) for 225 s/f. Thats 675 $ for carpet pad and labor. This generally won t include rip out of whats there now, floor prep ( if needed) , furniture moving and disposal. Remember this can vary with quality of pad and carpet. The carpet may be slightly cheaper than tolex when you take in to account the installation cost along with material cost. But the major reasos some speaker cabs have carpet is because it stands up better to wear. Tolex tears pretty easy and gets scuffed up even easier. Carpet is a more sturdy covering. Later,
