- Q: 2 different pulleys are in the way of the 2 remaining long bolts. at each end of the pump. tensioner did not need to be moved as belt is already off. Motor mount is 1/2 way removed and motor has dropped slightly gt; Am reading a jack must be placed under motor with wood via oil pan ( am hoping no other damage was done) Am told there is a certain device available to remove the pulleys? ... -Would appreciate anyone's info and advice on the remaining steps to this procedure on this make and model engine. as I have come into it obviously with it having begun the wrong way!! Thanks!!
- Are you sure? Try using a search engine (could be Bing, Yahoo, Google).
- Q: Fire pump control cabinet installation distance, ground height should be how much?
- We know that the fire pump control cabinet has the distinction of floor and wall mounted, wall mounted control cabinet installation height generally is determined by the employer departments, without any special labeling, proposed control cabinet frame under the 120cm from the ground, this is the installation height compared to the commonly used, can be used for your reference.
- Q: Ok, here's my problem. My parents bought this house a few years ago. No problems at first, but then during Hurricane Katrina, the basement started to flood from the heavy rains. Now whenever it rains, it floods. We have a half bath down there and the water would drain out in the shower drain. Now no water drains out, and we've already check the drain for clogs. It's clear. We currently have to bucket the water out.I'm looking for a good water pump to get them before I move out. I'm not sure if it has a sump pit or anything. We don't particularly care if we have to pump it out through a window or anything, as we have a pasture next to us. I just need something that could pump out the water when it rains. Preferably something not too expensive but that will still get the job done.Note: This is in Louisiana; lord knows what compelled the people who built this house to build a basement.Any suggestions/advice are much appreciated.
- Most home improvement and probably good hardware stores, carry what is called a Utility Pump. They come in several different horsepower models, I assume depending on how much water and how long it will need to run. They are simple pumps that set on the floor and some will pump out to withing 1/8 of the floor. So, if there's even just a low spot in the floor somewhere, it would pump out most all the water you have. They range in price from about $50 to $150 in price. They also have a hose connecting thread on the opening on top. That way you can pump the water anywhere you want it. That would be the way I'd go.
- Q: How do I change the water pump in my 1998 ford mustang manual v6?
- If you don't already know how to do it, then take it to a shop to have it done by the professionals. If you insist on trying it yourself, buy a Chilton's manual for your car, do some online research (with pictures), and buckle down. You will need to loosen the belts, remove the belts, remove the water pump, replace it, and reinstall everything. You will need to make sure that the belt is routed the correct way, or BOOM! You might also want to replace the timing belt while you're in there. It makes sense to replace it if you already are removing it, and the timing belt is something you can't afford to have go bad on you.
- Q: honda acord water pump 1988
- hello Purchase a how to book, because part of the water pump sits behind the timing belt cover.Hope this was some help.
- Q: My car broke down yesterday and is waiting to be towed to the mechanic (2000 Dodge Neon). I'm pretty sure the Timing Belt broke, but my water pump was broken in the process and leaked out lots of water. Would the timing belt break the water pump when it snapped? Or does the broken water pump lead us to a different conclusion? Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. Also I was reading online today about interference engines, but couldn't find a list to verify if I have one of those or not. Anyone know? Thanks!
- bearings in the water pump pulley went out and locked up therefore causing belt to snap
- Q: Hello, I'm having an issue with grinding/metallic noise from engine bay. Alternator was replaced today and didn't fix. However, when I got the car back from the garage the oil level indicator is saying quot;inactivequot;. I seem to find some answers on the web that say the oil level indicator is in some way connected to the water pump. Car has 95k miles on and I doubt it had been changed. Could this be the cause of the noise? And could anyone possibly tell me which pulley it is on the belt? Many thanks for your time :)
- E92 has should be an electric water pump if it's a 6 cylinder. The oil level will read inactive until the engine is up to operating temp. As for the grinding noise- they need to remove the belt and start the car. If the noise is gone- spin the idler pulley and listen for bearing noise. I've had a couple of alternators go bad on these cars so I can't fully fault the shop- but they SHOULD have verified the source of the noise as well as the repair. Other potential issues would be the P/S pump or the A/C compressor. (only items on the belt).
- Q: im buying a mazda 626 for 800 abd the owner selling just let me know that the water pump is going out. is it a fairly easy fix or should i keep shopping for a vehicle?
- if the water pump goes out then the car can over heat, and if it over heats too much the motor can blow.then you will have to buy a whole new motor.it's really not a big deal to fix..for you it will be,but for a mechanic its easy.here is a BIG tip for you....i'm a car guy i do this all the time...plzzzz do not buy the water pump from a mazda dealership, you will end up paying hundreds..go to a junk yard and get a used one they work just as good, and if you can go to a near by occupational center where they have an automotive class they only charge $20 if you bring your own part.....hope this helps
- Q: Installed new water pump on 90 Jeep. Noticed antifreeze around the edges of the pump. Took it off, replaced with new gasket and sealer, but it seams to be leaking again.
- Most likely cause: old gasket/sealer was not fully removed prior to installing new gasket. The gasket surfaces must be absolutely clean. Possible incorrectly machined gasket surface on replacement pump, but that's highly unlikely.
- Q: My pt crusier water pump went out. Are there any tricks to fixing it? My husband wants to take a crack at it because it is 800.00 to have it fixed by a local mechanic here in Spring Hill. If anyone knows any tricks to doing it or where I can get it done cheaper in Spring Hill?! Let me know!!!!
- The water pump is driven by the timing belt on this motor. If it is not done right, you could cause serious damage to the engine. Actually $800 to change the pump and timing belt is reasonable. To lower the price further you could negotiate buying your own parts. Good luck.
