Q: I've had my subs wired up for a while but want to see if there is a more efficient way to do it. Hardware: Sony Xplod 800w amp bridgeable amp - What's the best way to wire these up to get the most volume?
wire the voice coils to series on each sub and then wire the subs in parallel to the amp and voila.
Q: Connecting a Pioneer AVH-P1400DVD to a 2008 Kia Sorento. I have connected the wire harness to the back of the stereo by matching each color. My issue is I have 2 wires left on each side.I have a blue wire on the wire harness, and on the stereo side I have a blue/white wire that says system remote start. Do these 2 need to go together, even though they are different color scheme, yet both are blue?Same thing with the orange wire on the harness, and I have an orange/white on the stereo, do these two need to be connected? Thanks!
The blue wire is a power antenna wire. If your car does not have a power antenna you do not need to connect this wire. If you do have one, the blue/ white wire from the stereo will work if it does not have a solid blue wire. The orange wires should be connected together. That wire dims the display on your stereo at night when you turn on the headlights.
Q: I am currently doing a guitar build and want to do the 21 tone jimmy page wiring style. I have a few questions. I can follow the diagram attached fairly well but am just confused on certain points. 1. for all the wires excluding the pickup wires, so the majority of the black wires, should those be hot wire or ground wire? I bought a wire back that has black ground wire and hot white wire and am confused on what to use when. 2. Specifically with the black wire coming from each pickup, once those go to a terminal on the pot the black wire that comes off of that joint is a connecting wire like in question 1, not a stretch of the pickup wire correct?3. When multiple wires come to a single solder joint should you tin the pot and then add one wire at a time to that spot or solder them all together and then to the pot?
Hello there, 1) Excluding pickups, black wire hot or ground? They use black for both in that diagram. I believe the only ground wires are all marked as ground in the diagram. A ground wire will run from the case of a pot to somewhere. To the ground side of the jack. To the bridge. To another pot. As for what you bought, I have no idea what you are trying to say. There is no difference in the wire itself that is used for ground or hot. You can use any wire (except bare) for either of those. 2) The black wire from the bridge pickup goes to a terminal of the switch on the push/pull bridge volume pot. You may solder the wire and continue the same wire down to the terminal of the switch on the push/pull tone pot. Or you can use another wire to connect those switches. The black wire from the neck pickup go to the middle terminal of the neck volume pot. Again, you may continue the wire from the pickup or solder in another wire to connect to the switch on the push/pull neck tone pot. 3). When I run ground wires to the case of a pot. I used separate solder joints. I do not wrap the wires together and then solder them as a group onto the pot. I have tried that and got bad connection on some of the wires. Best to solder ground wires separately. On a switch terminal where you have two wires coming to the same terminal, I try to solder both wires at the same time to the terminal. 4). All connections are soldered. Also, you should be aware that not all pickups have the same colored wires. You need to check the color code for the brand of pickups you are using. Seymour Duncan makes his diagrams based on using his pickups. If you use some other brand, the color of the pickup wires may be different. Seymour Duncan has a pickup wire color code chart on his web site. Later, Norm
Q: I have a 1990 chevy c1500 2wheel drive. I bought it not running. I have found the problem and it the tbi injectors are not hooked up. The 4 wires on the 2 injectors are red and the 4 wires going to the tbi are red, blue, green, white. what wires go were? Thanx for all your help.
The red and white wires are the power to each injector and are actually hooked to each other in the harness. These 2 wires should be hot when you turn the key on. The green and blue wires are the grounds that lead back to the ecm. The red and blue wires go to the passenger side injector (red is far left as you face the vehicle). The white and green go to drivers side (white on left as you face it)
Q: DO i TWIST THE WHITE AND RED SMALL WIRES TOGETHER UNDER THE WIRE NUTS ON AC WIRING TO THE CONDENSER?
what you have is a thermostat wire it is a two wire so if one is not connected and the other one is wire the ones that are not connect together regardless of color. wire manufacturers vary their wire color but the all work the same make sure to tape it up after you do it so it don't fry your transformer in the a/c unit..follow the blue wire to contactor on the opposite side of where it hooks up there should be another wire follow it and you will see where it is broken twist that wire to the one that is unhooked then put the wire nuts back on
Q: I just bought an exhaust tip with leds which needs to be wired up to the brake lights on my mazda 626. Can somebody tell me which colour wire it is (positive) on the wiring to the brake light? There are a few wires and I dont know which one it is! Thanx
How do you wire this up? You dont !! Beautifying your car is good to do but I have seen these LED tips and they look terrible. If you want your car to look like a cheap honda civic thats been dressed up, then go ahead and do this. if you still want to do this, use a multimeter across the two cables. run one lead to each wire. If you get a positive voltage when someone else presses the brake then the positive lead you have connected will be the side that is positive. If your voltage is negative, then the wire NOT connected to the positive lead is the positive
Q: Broken dryer, 4 bladed wire, Old dryer available to me, has a 3 wire cord, can I swap the cords?
the guidelines basically recently replaced interior the previous couple of years requiring new properties to be geared up with the 4 prong recepticals rather than the three prong recepticals for 220 V merchants. in the experience that your dryer is fantastically new, interior the final 4 years or so... the twine that is hooked as much because it now could have the skill to be interchanged with a 4 prong twine by basically buyingh a 4 prong twine and screwing the eylets to the surprising connections at the back of your dryer. in the experience that your twine won't be able to be switched out, then i'd pass backward and replace the 4 prong container with a three prong container. i'd do it this sort so as that one and all your electric connections are interior a receptical, rather of having 220 Volt wires basically twine nuted at the same time.ok good success.
Q: @topicAnd does the size of the wire matter in electrical consumption?
The size of the wire that matters in electrical consumption.
Q: 6000+ heat sinc wires?i up graded my cpu and the new heat sinc has a 4 wire conector and my old 3800+ heat sinc has 3 and mobo has 3 pin processor works great. sys recognizes amd 6000+ dual core processor @ 3.0 ghz but not the model #???? sys works great scored 10143 on 3DMARK 06 anyway the fan and temp s are all good any ideas what the other wire is
Yes, the fan on your heat sink has a fourth wire that..............(tune back in tommorrow folks, for the conclusion), (sorry, somebody's telling jokes over here!) The fourth wire is a Speed control wire. The first wire,(Red), is 12VDC,(power), the second,(Black), is the ground, should be a Blue wire, for rpm sensor, and the fourth,(color codes vary), is the wire that the BIOS uses to speed the fan up when the temp of the cpu raises, slows the fan down, when it isn't used as hard. Temp of the cpu, is found through one of it's pins on the bottom of it.
Q: The wire on my headphones were cut clean off in the middle of the wire. Is there any way it can be fixed? I tried to find out other ways but it seems one of the only ways is to strip the wire of its covering. Is there a way to fix it without burning the wires?
to add to Generic John's post ..pay attention to the color of the wires. one will most likely have no cover to it ,thats the neutral. so it would be for example . to red, white to white , neutral to neutral
