- You might have to go to a speaker shop and they have a little wire gadget there which tells them which wires are what. Don't know if you'll have to pay though or not. You might be able to buy one yourself.

- If the house is newer construction, it should have nail guards over the wire to prevent you from nailing into the wires. But that's should have guards. There are devices that you can use to sniff out wires inside the wall. Prices vary. Depending on how long the nails/ staples are that you are using, you should be ok just putting them in where ever, most of the wiring is pulled through the center of the studs, that gives you a nearly an inch on either side of where the wire is pulled through, if its in a 2X4 wall.

- Yes, you can. Use insulated wire nuts. I always wrap the wire nut and connection with electrical tape. Safety First! Also my parents have house that was built in 1908 and they didn't use a ground back then. Make sure your house has one.

- There is no force between the wires. Draw a daigram and use maxwell's screw rule to find direction of magnetic fields created....since both are perpendicular, no combination of fields are seen. Thereby, n movement seen.

- the red and brown are probably positive (red) and the brown (neg) The green is probably a ground wire. You can go to the hardware store. Home Depot or Sears or Ace etc and get a small tester and then touch it to the wires. It will come with instructions and you can also ask the sales person in the electrical dept.

If yes you can assume it is a switch and solder it inline with the lead the other end (after the switch would be connected to the lead end of the 1/4 if you have a pigtail 1/4 then this would be the insulated wire, the ground would simply connect to the uninsulated wire if you are actually using a do it yourself 1/4 plug then the same rules apply only you are soldering to the terminal inside the plug sleeve rather then to bare wires (I always prefer this its cleaner). Please Note: The PTT switch will cause a loud pop when it is engaged and released on a Hi Gain guitar amp and sometimes this can damage the speakers as well as delicate internal components so do this of coarse at your own risk.
