Product Description

A diesel generator is the combination of a diesel engine with an electric generator (often an alternator) to generate electrical energy. This is a specific case of engine-generator. A diesel compression-ignition engine often is designed to run on fuel oil, but some types are adapted for other liquid fuels or natural gas.

Diesel generating sets are used in places without connection to a power grid, or as emergency power-supply if the grid fails, as well as for more complex applications such as peak-lopping, grid support and export to the power grid.

FAQ:

Q1: What is Prime Power and Standby Power Rating?

A1: Prime Power (PRP): Prime power is available for an unlimited number of annual hours in variable load application, in accordance with GB/T2820-97eqv ISO8528; A 10% overload capability is available for a period of 1 hour within a 12-hour period of operation. Standby Power Rating (ESP): The standby power rating is applicable for supplying emergency power for the duration of a utility power interruption. No overload, utility parallel or negotiated outage operation capability is available at this rating

Q: and diesel generator and ATS that switches between two electrical sources ??
There may be no difference. It will depend on the application. For example, if I specified an ATS that had the proper voltage and current capacities, the only other item of concern would be to determine if the transfer would be a make before break or a break before make type of transfer. In a make before break, it would mean the sources would be placed into parallel operating condition before one of the sources was interrupted. This would require the ability to synchronize the sources. Which means the frequency, voltage and phase relationship of the sources must match before they are placed into parallel service. On a break before make switch, usually only phase rotation and approximate voltage levels are of concern. Hope this helps, Newton1Law
Q: I know with cars there is a blue book but how does it work for a generator? We have an 80kw Kholer Diesel generator with 1,050 hrs on it and it's 13 years old. It gets regular maintenance and is in great shape. I've been looking online but can't seem to figure out how much it's worth.
$8,000-$15,000 depending on the exact model and much more information. Generators have as many options as cars, and that is why the prices vary.
Q: I have a 1992 Toyota Tercel that sits in my yard. It ran at one time, but has been driven so little that it now no longer starts. Had this problem one time before and paid someone to fix it. They replace the fuel pump to get it started again. Other issues are lost title, back left tire seems locked, and busted windshield.I hate to just trash this car and wonder how difficult would it be to turn the motor into a backup power generator for my house? Is it feasible? One of our sister companies at work has a diesel engine that acts as a backup power for their computer room, so I wondered if I could possible do the same for my home.Any suggestions?

Q: everyone knows the chuck norris jokes, but why does everyone make jokes about him.Real answers please
This Site Might Help You. RE: how did the whole Chuck Norris joke start? everyone knows the chuck norris jokes, but why does everyone make jokes about him. Real answers please
Q: for a diesel generator of about 113 HP. What is the typical exhaust temperature?
i ve worked on a 440kw engine as a general rule the exhaust temperatures are never let to go in excess of 400 degrees. normal exhaust temperature at 300 kw was 350 deg celsius.
Q: Every time i go to the pawn shop i always end up craping my pants. I crap em so hard that i got to leave to change and come right backnext time i best bring a diaper because the pawn shop always does it to me. Everything is pretty much stolen and new so i get 50% off pawn price because they know me for years. The last time i craped my pants was when i got this really nice 2000$ diesel generator for 400$ and BAM!Didn't even feel it coming, reached in my pocket to count my cash and the next thing i knew was i got a landslide running down my leg filling up my work boot. I bought it there and then anyways with crap on my leg because it was too good a deal to let some other guy steal it, that's my job!I do it at home on the computer sometimes when i'm looking at tools on harborfreight. It never happens with anything else, why only tools?
lmao this has to be a joke, made me lol in real life though, good one xD
Q: I have 6,500 gas generator to run two 12,500btu roof a/c units on my bus.Nothing but problem after problem with generator.I was advised to change unit out to diesel unit! Any advise on what size i should be looking for?
You don't say what the generator problems are. It may be undersized for the AC units you are trying to run plus other things you are trying to run. The AC unit may require all of the generator's capacity for about 2 seconds to start. So if one AC is running, there may not be enough capacity to start the second AC unit. What other things are you running off the generator at the same time? The 6,500 watt generator can only supply a maximum of 27 amps out of the 240 volt outlet or 15 amps out of each of the 120 volt outlets or any combination that does not exceed the 6,500 watt capacity of the generator. A diesel engine has nothing to do with the capacity of the generator. Diesel engines are used on larger capacity generators or continuous duty generator sets. The generator itself doesn't care what type of engine is spinning the rotor. Will the generator run just one of the units? If it does, then my thoughts are the generator doesn't have the capacity to run the loads you have.
Q: What type of diesel engine diesel
Diesel generator is a small power generation equipment, refers to the use of diesel oil as fuel, diesel engine as the prime mover driven generator power generation machinery.
Q: I want to buy a GENMAX HY6500 GENERATOR FOR 220/240 VOLTS but is wondering if this generator is good. I saw one sold at $1,239 and on another site it was $299.00. I was adviced not to buy Wolf power because of poor customer ratings. I haven't seen any customer rating for GENMAX. I guess this is a Chinese company. The problem I am having in US is that I canot get a 50hz 220-240 volt generators. All I get is 60hz and I am told thy wouldn't work for Africa. Can anybody help?
There is very little equipment made for one frequency that won't work just fine on the other frequency, (50 vs 60 Hz). The only problem you would run into is where a synchronous motor needs to run at an exact speed, such as tape recorders. But almost everything made today will function just fine on either 50 or 60 Hz. Actually, a 60 Hz generator can be made to put out 50 Hz by re-adjusting the governor to run the motor a little slower. For instance, if it is a 2-pole generator operating at 3600 RPM, the motor could be adjusted to run at 3000 RPM. If the generator was 4 poles, designed to run at 1800 RPM, readjusting the governor to run at 1500 RPM would do the trick. The only problem you might encounter would be slightly lower voltage - 100/200 Volts - but the the automatic voltage regulator should handle that just fine by increasing the field voltage/current.
Q: Hi.My diesel electric generator has a sticker that says Change oil every 100hrs. Use 10w-30 grade CC. But I can't find this oil anywhere. The closest I have found are 10w-30 Mobil1 synthetic oil (API SM/CF) and 15w-40 Pennzoil gold (with diesel protection, API CJ, CI, CF etc. /SM). Which one should I use? Thanks!
You are not looking very hard,. Shell Rotella and Chevron Delo are all over the place
