Q: My toyota 99 camry stalled and would not start. engine turned over and all lights worked. had the oil changed 3 weeks ago and they told me their was a noise and it might be the water pump. my questions are does this sound like the water pump? Do they usually change the timing belt and is this necessary? is this something that we can do at home? thank-you for any info out their!
the engine series you need is the 5S-FE 2200 cc. That should be the standard 4 cyl in the 99 Camry. the Celica GT used the same engine series (the regular Celica used as smaller engine). the real proof is in the vehicle's VIN's. the 5th character in the VIN describes the engine. Both cars should have a G which signifies the 5S-FE engine. Try to get a whole Celica GT w/ engine in it. you may have to transfer the accessories, brackets, motor mounts etc, to the donor engine to make it fit. Actually i dont think a 2000 Celica will work. A 1999 would work. The 00 Celica went to a new engine - 1ZZ or something.
Q: Pump frequent start will reduce the service life, I ask what kind of frequency is called frequent start?
Pump is the same, often start, not just reduce the service life of the pump, motor, contactor life will be shortened.
Q: Does a Insurance policy cover if your Well water pump burns out from power outage and breaks seal and burns motor?
Doubtful.
Q: i need to know how the water pumps, how it transports, where it goes, and how the structure is used to control the direction of the flow. Please help? I'd really like to know., thank you in advance!
you're saying that your pump used to function precise in the previous, so if the pump is in sturdy situation, the elevate should not be too great so we are able to rule that out. it sounds as though to me that the gurgling sound may well be made by potential of sucking air, and for this to ensue, it would be a concern on the inlet area of the pump. If the guy who repaired the pump is familiar with what he's doing, it won't be the pump, so we are able to rule that out. That leaves the pipe and any fittings between the pump and the foot valve that could desire to be on the top of the pipe. attempt working the pump, and pouring water over all joints and fittings, one after the different, if the pump is working precise, a slurping sound would be heard on the leak. The pump could have a priming factor, a screw in plug, someplace on proper of it. With the pump stopped, get rid of the plug, and pour water into the hollow. you will possibly desire to have the skill to fill the pump appropriate up, and the water stay at that time, without draining away. If it wont hold the water, the valve on the backside of the pipe is the two wiped out or has something like a stone or gravel struggling with it from working precise. As you have disconnected this pump for upkeep, it would have needed priming besides, that's the filling up with water. it is too plenty to ask a dry pump to enhance water any peak, so in step with danger you do not have a concern in any respect. sturdy success
Q: The at is a 2003 Toyota celica. And how much would it cost to get the water pump and timing belt replaced?
It’s useless to try and get an estimate for the cost of parts and labor for repairs via Yahoo Answers. In a lot of cases we have no idea of what country you’re in, let alone city, state, province or township. Even knowing where you live is of little use as prices for parts and labor can vary wildly within the same area. If you understand the problem and just need parts you can Google for the best prices for parts. Your best solution for getting an estimate of repair costs is by contacting an independent auto repair shop in your area. Don’t go with any of the franchise or chain type auto repair places as they frequently use poorly trained help and many have no mechanical training at all, and dealers have to charge more to cover their high overhead. It’s really best (when possible) to get a personal referral from someone you trust to a local independent shop.
Q: I'm using an old Mitsubishi Lancer. Recently I changed my water pump it was leaking. To me it looked like a piece of metal, with a small fan thing (not motorized) How can it fail? There is no mechanics to it, just like a pipe with a fan (or turbine)I also messed with my radiator, I unhooked the main hose to clean out the coolant, since the plug was jammed. Could this have contributed to the failing of my water pump?
That fan thing is called an impeller and when it spins it pumps coolant through the motor and radiator to keep it cool. It spins off a belt that is connected to the crankshaft pully and possiabley the alternator. That impeller and shaft spin on sealed roller bearings. These bearing will last a a lot of miles but they will wear out, and when they do the shaft moves out of round and wears out the seal that keeps the coolant from leaking out past the shaft. Over tighting of the drive belt will wear out the bearinge prematurley, but a pump will usually last 100,000 miles
Q: i own a 02 gti 337 i bought back in 04 the water is leaking bad and im pretty sure the water pump has gone bad on it i had it replaced awhile back but the check engine came on it isnt this time so i think its just a leak from the seal my question is where is the water pump located is it on the timing belt or is it on a seperate pulley i dont wanna mess with the timing belt and i dont have the money to get this replaced so any help would be great thanks
The timing belt drives the Water Pump in a VW- ??????????????????? I don't think so. That said, it is under the timing belt and you must remove it to access the pump, heck you have to strip the entire front of the engine to get that bad boy out. I would order the Housing with the pump already installed and a new housing O-Ring and get new bolts. The reason is that the actual pump bolts tend to snap on removal and are next to impossible to drill out of the housing. My guess is a lousy install if it is leaking or substandard parts. Q: 1998 Toyota Camry 4-cyl.Engine starts and runs, but makes a horrible, random clunking sound that seems to come from the water pump area. Coolant was seeping from front cover, appeared to be from water pump area again. engine idles, but wont rev up at all.My guess is that a bearing let loose or a vane broke off the water pump and is bouncing around inside, triggering the knock sensor which pulls out all of the timing, not letting it rev. Sound right? If that is the problem, what all is involved in replacing the water pump? Its my roommate's car, but I told him I would fix it if possible to save some money. I'm a fairly competent mechanic, but I don't have the best setup here while I'm away at school, so any info on how involved this will be, how many hours of labor is listed for that, or anything to watch for from someone who has had a similar problem before would be greatly appreciated.

Q: 99 Cherokee I6. There is low pitched noise coming from the area of the water pump and alternator. Like a grinding grumbling. The water pump pulley is not loose and will not rock back and forth. Nothing is leaking. Tomorrow is forecast as icey and I have a choice of sending my wife 30 miles each way to work in the Cherokee or a 2005 Mustang, which is absolutely terrible in the snow or ice. I can get the car into the shop on Thursday for diagnosis and repair. Since the pulley is not loose I am thinking it will be OK for another day even if it is the water pump bearings. Thoughts?
Check the Tensioner pulley it is next to the power steering pump. It is the most likely part to fail, and make this noise. Be Careful and place a long screwdriver on a none moving part of each part you suspect. If you carefully place your ear on the handle you can tell which part is the loudest. The engine will be running so please be careful or stop off at your local mechanic and have him fix it first. If it is a slight rumble you'll most likely be ok. If it is a loud grinding have her take the mustang or the day off.
Q: 94 f150,302 engine. the water pump comes with 2 gaskets. one behind a metal plate on the pump and another for mounting it to the motor. my question is do you have to use sealant of any kind on both gaskets or can you just bolt it on?
Use gasket sealer. RTV silicone or whatever.
