The IICRC (Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification) trains and certifies carpet cleaners worldwide.
- Q: Big carpet can be washed directly with water, and then dry it exposed to the sun ?
- It is better not to do so, because it's easy to deform and more easier to be damaged. Cleaning equipment and cleaning agent cleaning are still recommed to be used.

- Rug Doctor works great if you have a good strong person to get it from the place you rent it to your home and back again. Any more I prefer hiring a cleaning company that extracts the dirty water. Your carpet is almost dry when they get done and the carpet stays cleaner longer.

- There is a special rubbery ( but its not) type of mesh/woven etc under layment that you put under a rug to stop it from scooting. Comes in many sizes so know your rug size and it can be cut to fit using scissors. Get the type for rug over carpet. Leaves no residue ( like double sided tape can). - Q: I'm thinking a dark purpley magenta... or perhaps a shaggy brown rug might suit. Ideas?
- I personally would go with a burgundy color..like a red wine...Never go with light beige colors, they are very hard to clean unless you clean them right away. Our home has fitted carpets and all of them beige, and one can see every little blemish. I like burgundy. I think it won't clash and it looks elegant...I think a shaggy brown rug will not do the blue justice and yes, if you are young and daring and for bold extremes, then I think a purply magenta could work. That will be a bold color scheme but it can work. Also make sure, that you either redecorate your walls or the rug and the blue cream sofa should somehow be in harmony with the color on the wall ..otherwise if you have too many different colors, (meaning the wall has a yellow paint, and the rug is purply magenta and the the sofa is blue cream, then I find that too much of a contrast..so check the walls and if they are white, I would paint them and maybe give them a nice color that could be a blue...Blue is very relaxing and a restful color and it depends in which room this sofa stands. A cream colored wall would also go with a blue cream sofa and a burgundy carpet...I would not get the cheapest rug. Look for a bargain but get something nice..but not too expensive. Look around in in antique shops for bargains..Maybe they have something suitable that is not too expensive..x
- Q: what is the difference between steam cleaninig and deep cleaning? I don't think we have very dirty carpet but it was always suggested by our carpet cleaner (by the way - I hate how they always upsell their services). anyways - I want to have another carpet cleaning soon in the spring and would like to be more educated about this.Bottom line is - if 'steaming cleaning' does not clean... why bother having such service in the first place?
- There are many ways to clean carpets. One is where they APPLY a dry cleaning agent on your carpet, agitate the chemical into the carpet fibers and then vacuum it up. I do not prefer this method. The one I prefer is Steam Cleaning. But be sure it is a truck mount - so that it has enough suction to remove all detergents. Don't rent the steam cleaners at the super markets - all they will do is ruin your carpets because they don't have enough power to clean and/or remove the cleaning chemicals. STEAM CLEAN - IT'S THE BEST!

- No offense but horses dont even need rugs.. I would say weatherbeeta is the best rug you can get. I dont know all my rugs are weatherbeeta.. Well beens hes a TB I would say put a light weight on him. I know TBs tend to be more suceptiable to cold. This is really your choice and if you think he looks cold bring him in and put him in a stall.. (if their is a stall avaible to him)
