- Q: I vacuum every day with a kirby sentria. I read somewhere that vacuuming daily can ruin your carpet, but I haven't had a problem (yet). Supposedly it'll wear out the carpet sooner? I use the correct settings for my carpet. We have a 3 year old, a dog, and 3 cats, the thought of vacuuming even every other day kind of sickens me when I think about how many crumbs and how much hair can build up in the carpet lol.Is it okay to vacuum daily? Not gonna have to replace the carpet every 3 years if I do it that way?

- Take a paper towel and iron over it. it will re-wet the wax and it will adhere to the paper towel. Be careful not to melt the carpet though:) Also some say ice is supposed to work but I haven't tried that one.

- Q: Can anyone help me with this. It is cold out at the minute but not actually such a big deal as he is in the stable at night. My problem is that he also has Sweet-Itch and I'd like to get him to accept a rug before April or I will be in trouble!! I just got him a few months ago and he is great with everything else! (plastic bags, traffic, horse-box).The rug I bought is a turn out rug and I know Sweet-Itch rugs are a lot more lightweight but I dont really want to splash out on one just yet untill I make some progress!!
- When he is in a stable put it on the back wall so he gets used to it then a week later just move it closer to him if he gets scared put it back on the wall. When he accepts the rug just gently lay it on his back, again go back a step if he spooks. hen when that is ok do it up and leave it there for about an hour, afterwards take it off adn then it should be problem solved. - Q: how or what can i use to get the sticky residue off carpet ? previous owners put vinyl tile over carpet which was stupid does anyone know what i can use to get the sticky residue off carpet?? i have goo gone not sure if it would work does anyone know what would work.. that wouldnt take alot to get it off carpet.. seems to be those self adhesive tiles that are on top of carpet.. i'm lifting tiles off but the residue is on carpet making you stick kinda to carpet.. - My feeling is you'll have to get new carpet. You're basically going to have to saturate the carpet repeatedly with solvent and rub it with old towels to soften and absorb the adhesive. Carpeting has a tendency to 'wick down' moisture, so if you soften the glue it will want to go down further into the carpet rather than wipe off. Depending on the thickness and height of the pile, and how much adhesive is stuck to the fibers, you may be doing a lot of work for nothing. Solvents you can use would include stuff like Goo Gone, however it will take a lot to get the adhesive off, and that will get expensive. You can also use paint thinner or turpentine, but the fumes may be too much unless you can close off the room, and the smell will linger. Either way, you'd best not light a match in that room for a while, and the solvents could also cause the adhesive under the carpet to fail.
- Q: what should i do?
- Do both. Vacuum the rugs during the week to pick up particles and hair, and then throw them in the wash on occasion to make sure they stay fresh. I would also spray them lightly with Lysol a few times a week to keep mold and fungus at bay.

- I think rugs are fantastic and can be used in any room. The centre a space and people just love to dig their toes in! You just need to be careful what you buy. A plain fluffy rug thats just one colour will work best with any carpet base. If you have just plain white carpet with no patterns you could go for a pattern just make sure the colours you chose complement your other accessories or are in them.
- Q: We have rugs in our house that cover a large area because we have wooden floors. We have had them for a few years and there is a lot of dust that is sand colored that doesn't go away easily even with vacuuming. My mom thinks its just backing from the rug and it's normal. Were planning to get rid of them soon but is this dust/sand stuff really harmful to breathe in? It's been there for years but we don't move them around or anything.
