I have tried filling a carpet cleaner with hot water and going over the stains with that but that seems to have just spread the left over soap stain. HELP! How do I remove these stains for good?
- Unless it is an excess of cleanser, which can be rinsed, it sounds as though you have bleached out some color from your carpet. If it is the latter, that is permanent. Sorry.

- I'm sure you could figure it out, but it would depend on a lot of variables (i.e. total diameter of roll, width of carpet, etc). Would probably be much easier to unroll it in all honesty.

- Carpet causes skin allergy. The fine wool carpet is a kind of sensitization source. In the process of use, the fine wool has reached a certain degree of destruction due to constant friction. The fine lint released can cause skin allergy and even cause asthma.

- Hang it on the clothes line and beat it with a stick. You'll be amazed at how much dust comes out.
- Q: My carpet is only 4 1/2 years old and in good shape with no big stains. My only complaint is that it's too light. Someone suggested having my carpet dyed a darker color, but I've never heard of anyone doing that before. Has anyone had this done before or know anyone who has? If so, what are the pro's and con's? - Q: I already have my carpet and padding. We purchased a whole house of like new, but used carpet at a great price for our LR and BR's and we have carpet padding. We planned to pay to have the carpet installed, but we are now completely out of money and paying someone is not an option. I know it will not be as nice or last as long, but I am wondering if we can glue the carpet down? It's just a regular mid-grade plush carpet. I am also wondering if this can be done with carpet padding or can it only be glued directly to the sub-floor? I am trying to figure out if I could staple down the carpet padding and somehow glue the carpet to the padding? Any help/suggestions on gluing down carpet with or without padding would be appreciated. Thanks!
- Glue down carpet doesn't have padding underneath, so it's usually reserved for commercial spots or basements where it's not high traffic. Doing that to a regular carpet that isn't commercial grade will cause it to wear out much quicker than usual. You would also spend much more in buying all the glue to lay it properly, not to mention enough for the padding as well; rather than just buying the tack-strips and laying it that way. It's not that tough to put the tack-strips down yourself, the only tough part is kicking and stretching the carpet. You'll need to at least rent a kicking tool to get it done properly.
