- Q: What is called soft start of water pump?
- Close the outlet valve of the pump, open the inlet valve, and can ensure that the water pump "self filling" (the liquid level is higher than the pump inlet pipe under the condition of the water pump start procedure is: to start the motor, to the normal operation of the motor, slowly open the outlet valve, the current gradually increase. But in the unattended operation (valve), and automatically pump, and pipeline diameter and length (in the pipeline water quality will be great), such as the motor start fast, to quickly promote the quality of water (as the train will soon accelerate acceleration), will make the motor starting current is large, causing the motor to trip and the damage of mechanical and electrical. Soft start (soft starter added in the circuit) - that is, slow motor speed, can overcome the above situation.Stop the pump normal order is: close the outlet valve, then stop the motor, such as unmanned operation, the outlet valve is not closed, when the pump stops suddenly, the water inside the tubes (especially vertical pipe), water will quickly turn back, so when the check valve suddenly closed, the fast flowing water suddenly stop by the inertial impact that produces "water hammer" effect and damage of pipeline system, using the "soft stop" should, in the circuit is connected with the soft stop device.
- Q: My Toyota 2006 Sienna has 80K miles on it and I asked the dealer to inspect the vehicle. He suggested that i replace Timing Belt, Water Pump, Drive Belt and Trans Pan Gasket. The cost of the repair comes to $1300 ($460 for Timing Belt, $350 for Water Pump, $140 for Drive Belt $370 for Pan Gasket).I'm caught by surprise with the price quoted and things to be replaced. Is the price quoted reasonable? Are these replacement common for Sienna vehicle with 80K miles? I don't know what could possibly go wrong if these are not changed for couple of months. I have an extended warranty on the vehicle for 100K miles will any of the above get covered under warranty?Any suggestions or advice is highly appreciated/
- Yes, I agree with the others and follow the 90,000 mile rule and have never had a major problem with the 5 Toyotas we have bought from brand new and the longest we have ever kept was 1993 Toyota Camry LE with 211,000 miles that we gave away when my wife and her sisters all insisted on SUVs and she upgraded to 2005 Toyota Highlander 6 cylinder AWD. FYI in addition to timing belt package and water pump, I also have my mechanic replace the thermostat and both fan belts. Finding a good mechanic who has the skills and know-how and works on all kinds of Japanese vehicles is the 1st Major Step. Mine worked a long time ago at the local Toyota dealer and I have seen/witnessed him 1st hand tear down and put back engines transmissions and though his rate slowly creeps up, I stayed with him with 20 years and see him for advice whenever I noticed anything unusual. FYI on timing belt replacements, I put together a list of parts for my mechanic to confirm these are the genuine Toyota parts I need, then there are 2 Toyota dealers in Texas: Toyota of Dallas and Toyota of Richardson TX that sell about 30% discount off of MSRP plus UPS fee and anything I miss or overlooked I let the service station get from the dealer. Regarding the transmission, I simply drain the ATF every 30,000 miles and refill with genuine Toyota ATF fluid and once when I was busy my mechanic did it for $30 plus the Toyota ATF Fluid. Hope the Above info Helps!
- Q: Hi, what is the difference between an Air pump and a Water pump. What are the functions of each? Does a tank filter come with an air pump? Is an Air pump or Water pump required?
- An air pump is used to drive air through a tube and into the tank passing through a diffuser. It can be used to drive an undergravel filter, sponge filter, or corner filter. Or it can be use simply to drive air through an airstone or other decoration. A water pump, otherwise known as a powerhead is used to drive water in the tank. Typically they are used to power an undergravel filter or sometimes a sponge filter. But they can also be used simply to circulate water in the tank. Whether a filter comes with an airpump depends on the type of filter. No external filter (power filter) will come with an airpump. But an under gravel filter or corner filter MAY come with an air pump, or it may not. Most do not. Depending on the type of filter you have an air pump or a water pump will be required. One or the other will be needed for an undergravel filter, corner filter or sponge filter. But they won't be needed if you are using a canister or power filter.
- Q: Where is the water pump located on a 1993 mitsubishi eclipse with a 1.8 motor
- Your water pump would be located on the right hand side of the motor. It has the fan belt running on the pulley in front of it the top water hose is connected to it. I hope this has helped you out.
- Q: When should I replace my water pump ?
- usually when leaking or noisy
- Q: I have a 1998 ford taurus. It started to over heat so i turned on the heater full blast and it didn't get hot. so i put antifreeze in it and i turned it on and it seemed ok but it started to over heat again and the tank for the antifreeze looked like the cap was going to pop off. I was just down the road from my house so i thought if i drove slow i could make it home and it turned on ok but when i put it in drive it stalled. Does this mean its the water pump??????
- sounds like Low water level and a possible head gasket failure from over heating!( low water levels do this) you may? be very lucky and simply have a stuck thermostat or faulty filler cap. ( keeps system pressures correct ) try replacing filler cap as very cheap, also before doing so run engine with full water cooling system with cap off for a minute or two and have somebody rev the engine a few times. we should!! see some water flow across the filler section under filler cap. this will be sign the water pump is working. no flow is possible pump failure. in order of likely hood will be 1) head gasket failure 2) water pump failure 3) filler cap failure.
- Q: What is the reason for the overload of the water pump indicator?
- Hello friend, pump overload shows that the water pump current increases, the power supply phase and water pump load becomes larger.
- Q: Why is the water pump usually used multi-stage pumps, while the circulating pump is usually a single-stage pump?
- Mainly determined by the function of the water supply pump and the circulation pump.Replenishment pump is mainly to supplement the loss of the system, so the general flow is smaller, larger head, single pump water model in a small flow situation, many are not up to the required head, can only use multi-stage pumps.Circulating pumps are generally large flow, low lift, heavy efficiency, economic operation, and hydraulic model point of view, are single-stage pumps more appropriate, especially single stage double suction pump.
- Q: 4--6 inch deep well pump head? How much per hour out of water?.
- General agricultural pump 4-6 inches of lift at about 20 meters, the economic output of water is 140-200 cubic meters per hour
- Q: I have a slight idea but I would like to see what steps other people have taken. I have a 1992 ford escort that needs a new water pump, what steps have you taken to replace it?
- It shouldn't in all probability take that long for a water pump. till they are changing the cam belt on the comparable time which could be greater like it. despite the fact that if ?40 an hour is slightly on the steep component. Get a cost from yet another storage or 2 for the comparable interest and see in case you will discover everywhere greater much less high priced
