- Well to start of, and two, A 25 hp does not have a water pump, like a car, it has am impeller driven by the out board motors gear system
- Q: I have replaced the presure switch on my water pump but it switches on and off when it is building up presure instead on staying on until it gets to right presure.Any ideas of what is causing this?
- RW is partially right you need to check the pressure switch which is the little black or greay box with the wires running in and out.It should say either 20/40 or 30/50 the pressure needs to be 2 pounds less than the lower number.Turn off the water and bleed the tank down then adjust he air with a tire pump and an air gauge

- I suggest you buy one ready-made if you want trouble-free operation. Here in rural NZ they're common on farms. You can buy versions that stop pumping when your pond water has reached a certain level. They don't need any electric power and they work for years without problems. As you probably know, suction pumps can only raise water about 10 metres, but I think you can buy wind-powered pumps that push the water up from below. The vanes are connected to the piston at the bottom of the bore by a linkage.
- Q: i have a 2000 chevy malibu (i know it sucks) i fixed the intake manifold gaskets (upper and lower) thermostat and its still leaking and sometimes overheating. my next thought is its the water pump. there's no crack in the radiator or hoses is there anything else that can cause it to overheat besides these. what about vacuum leakage? o2 sensors?
- some other possible causes of overheat: lean mixture inadequate oiling poor circululation due to restriction in water lines

- I've had the same problem. The piping going into the well is probably broken and the pump is just pumping water back into the well because it can't build up enough pressure. If it is just momentarily stopping and nothing in the house is running, the leak is small enough to let the tank build up pressure, but it bleeds off and the pump restarts. It could also be that the pressure bladder in the tank is bad. Either way it will burn your pump out in short order if you don't see to it very soon. Papaw

- Not less than 1.0 horse power pump is needed to lift water from 100 ft down. But, if you want some more power, you need not get more than 1.5 H.P. in any case.
- Q: In the past 9 months, Ive went through 6 or 7 gallons of antifreeze, I was told this was not normal. Ive had my coolant tank flushed 4 times this year, only to be told thats not normal and one lasts a few years. Now that its colder outside my car takes a while to run hot of course, but during the summer it ran hot in about 15 minutes tops. I got a brand new coolant tank before I got another flush because I did have a leak, but that did not combat the problem. I had my radiator looked at and I was told thats fine. So im thinking either a cracked head gasket or a bad water pump...help please. im getting tired of putting money into this car only for the same stuff to keep happening.
