Q:Our watrer pump on our well will constantly prime itself when we use the water in our house. As you are running the tap the water will gain pressure on and off like someone is using another tap in the house. Any suggestions?THanks in advacne
How old is the Pump ? Could the Impeller be worn out ? Is there a replaceable filter ? Could it possibly be stopped up ? Are there any leaks in the pipe leading from the well ? Is there a way that you could measure the current being drawn by the pump, with an Amp Meter, to determine if it's pulling more Current than it should be ? Until these questions are answered, it's probably just going to be a guessing game.
Q:is there a surface water pump that can pump water from a 1000 foot well?
If what you mean with surface water pumps are those pumps mounted on the ground to distinguish them from submersible pumps , yes there are surface pumps that can pump water from a 1000 ft well. These are the so called jet pumps or deep well pumps wherein part of the output water is returned back to the bottom of the well pipe through the space between the outer pipe casing and the inner pipe and passed through a venturi opening to create an upward water jet which will push more water upward.
Q:What is called soft start of water pump?
Close the outlet valve of the pump, open the inlet valve, and can ensure that the water pump "self filling" (the liquid level is higher than the pump inlet pipe under the condition of the water pump start procedure is: to start the motor, to the normal operation of the motor, slowly open the outlet valve, the current gradually increase. But in the unattended operation (valve), and automatically pump, and pipeline diameter and length (in the pipeline water quality will be great), such as the motor start fast, to quickly promote the quality of water (as the train will soon accelerate acceleration), will make the motor starting current is large, causing the motor to trip and the damage of mechanical and electrical. Soft start (soft starter added in the circuit) - that is, slow motor speed, can overcome the above situation.Stop the pump normal order is: close the outlet valve, then stop the motor, such as unmanned operation, the outlet valve is not closed, when the pump stops suddenly, the water inside the tubes (especially vertical pipe), water will quickly turn back, so when the check valve suddenly closed, the fast flowing water suddenly stop by the inertial impact that produces "water hammer" effect and damage of pipeline system, using the "soft stop" should, in the circuit is connected with the soft stop device.
Q:The meter on my dash was reading low even after driving for 20 minutes on a sunny day. Then all of a sudden it jumped over the 270 mark. I have a relatively new thermostat could my water pump have gone bad? I did not see any leaking coolant or anything under the vehicle.
Generally, a water pump won't stop pumping unless the belt is off. The usual water pump problem, that requires replacement, is when the shaft seal starts leaking coolant. A thermostat, on the other hand, can work normally, or maybe stick open (makes getting heat in the winter very slow) or maybe stick closed (overheat within a few minutes of starting the engine, and blowing coolant out of the tank). The coolant level (in the engine/radiator) could be low. Don't look when the engine is hot.
Q:quot;A tank has the shape of an inverted circular cone (point at the bottom) with height 10 feet and radius 4 feet. The tank is full of water. We pump out water (to a pipe at the top of the tank) until the water level is 5 feet from the bottom. The work W required to do this is given byquot;I know how to find it if it's a right circular cylinder, but how do I adjust for the changing area? Also would a and b = 0 and 5? Thanks ahead of time!
calculate the amount of water U start with by computing volume of cone: V = 1/3πr?h {r = 4', h = 10'} V = 0.333π(4)?(10) = 167.55 ft? calculate the amount of water remaining in cone after pumping is done: V = 0.333π(2)?(5) = 20.944 ft? calculate the volume of water pumped: 167.55 - 20.944 = 146.6 ft? 1 ft? of water weighs 62.4 lb, calculate weight of water removed: 146.6(62.4) = 9148 lbs The Center of Mass of the water in the cone (when h = 10') is at 1/4 of 10 ft = 2.5 ft high The Center of Mass of the water in the cone (when h = 5') is at 1/4 of 5 ft = 1.25 ft height The Center of C.of M. change = 1.25 + (2.5 - 1.25)/2 = 1.25+0.625 = 1.875 ft If we consider that the Center of Mass of the water removed was at 1.875 ft, All the water removed was then lifted an average of 10 - 1.875 = 8.125 ft Work done = W = (9148)(8.125) = 74,300 ft-lbs ANS
Q:School project. My group cannot find this answer.
Water pumps are rated by output (cfm, gpm), max. suction lift (ft), total head (ft), amount of power used (Hp), and whether they self-prime.
Q:my water pump is leaking how do i change it out
Pull your belts off and the fan, clutch assembly if there is one. Undo those eight or so bolts that hold the pump on and swap it for a new one. Drain the coolant first or you'll have a mess on your hands. You don't always have to remove the radiator but sometimes that gives you more clearance to work with.
Q:What do water pumps do on a car?
The water-pump circulates the hot coolant from the engine to the radiator where it is cooled and back to the water-pump through the hot engine again. If you had listed a particular car or truck as an example, some water-pumps push the hottest water in to the radiator through the lower radiator hose where it is cooled and then circulated back through the upper radiator hose to the cylinder-heads first then the block. This is the latest and greatest coolant circulation method because the cylinder-heads are the hottest part of a water-cooled internal combustion engine. The block temperature is always substantially cooler than the cylinder-heads. This is called a reverse cooled cooling system. One of these days to avoid confusion the makers of water-pumps should re-name them simply coolant pumps Race car engines are the only place real pure water is circulated through the cooling systems because antifreeze cuts cooling efficiency.
Q:All the water to my house comes from the river close by - via a 1500kw surface pump, into a large pressurised tank. If there is ever any kind of blockage in the pipe - or if it freezes ...this causes the pump to run - 'dry' - which eventually burns out the motor. I have lost 2 pumps so far because of running dry - and they are very expensive.I would like to fit some kind of automatic cut-out - that will ALWAYS stop the pump running after 15 minutes or perhaps less - as that is ALL the time it needs - if the water is flowing freely - to fill the pressurised tank. I feel sure such a thing must exist - but I do not know what it is called or where to buy one. Does anyone know of a 'switch' of this kind? And where to look for one? What could I put into google to do a search - for suppliers and prices, please?
the best thing is buy a submersable pump it is cheap and never burn
Q:i want details and requirement of it in water pump
