Q:How much could it cost me to carpet or laminate my living room, dining room, and up the stairs?: I think I paid like $3.25 or $3.75 sq. ft. for my high-end laminate. You can tell it's fake but is the best looking laminate I could find. It came with individual beveled planks, 3 sizes, to make it look more like hardwood. It was for my basement family room. I would have gotten hardwood, but I didn't want to pay to install a sub-floor. For resale value, I'd recommend going with real hardwood. It looks so nice and is quick to clean with a Swiffer Vac. It sells around $3 sq. ft. and up.
