- Q:Hello, I need to replace a small piece of short piled light beige carpet, therefore, can anyone recommend a transparent non clumping glue? Thank you for taking the time to help me!
- Ugh carpet glue or any glue is the worst and it will never stay. Unless this is a room you dont care much for then just use some standard loctite in a cream glue. otherwise there are ways to iron and stich a new patch in and it looks and blends right into the carpet.
- Q:i do not want a zebra print rug, i want wall to wall carpeting.i'm not sure where to buy it so please help!also how do you think it would look hot pink walls with the zebra carpet?
- Zebra Print Carpet
- Q:Its 14 degrees but absolutely chucking it down. She's an irish draught x TB. She's not clipped.
- It is warm but just throw a lightweight on to keep her dry. It's just nicer for them to have a bit of protection from this horrid rain. My gypsy cob and my tb have lightweights on and they're not too hot. It's tricky this time of yr!
- Q:I was given a 8ft 8 in x 12 ft 2 in persian rug that is in superb condition. It is authentic, but can not find out how much it is worth. I know that it cost 2,000 dollars 30 plus yrs ago, but am clueless on what it would go for these days. Could anyone give me some advice on how to find it's worth. I was given it a couple yrs ago by a family member who had passed away, it was left to me in their will. I dont like the color or style, Im into more modern stuff and I am looking to sell it. Someone please help, I am desperate and dont want to get ripped off, or name the wrong price and come to find out later that its far more pricier that I originally thought.
- have it appraised by an antique dealer.
- Q:What are or rather what was the use of carpet balls?
- Carpet balls. Used in the Victorian game of carpet bowls, made in brown stoneware or white earthenware coloured with starry, ringed, or flowery patterns. A set comprised six patterned and one white or self-coloured balls. Made in Scotland an Staffordshire. The Parr family of Burslem specialized in them. Properly called a carpet bowl for a game of carpet bowling, a variation of lawn bowling which is also related to bocce.Carpet balls were developed during the reign of Queen Victoria--1832-1901--as a form of outdoor bowls to be played in the parlor. The game is currently experiencing a resurgence in Canada and GB.
- Q:How do you fix the room carpet?
- The carpeted man will be responsible for the carpeting. There is a certain amount of friction in the carpet, and there is no need to fix it properly
- Q:my cat claws and tears a section of my carpet in my apartment. I would like answers from someone who really HAS the experience on cutting out the piece, replacing, sowing, etc. Can anyone help?
- I've had to repair construction damaged carpet in several houses - here's how I went at it. Go to a carpet store and ask for carpet tape - a wide version of duct tape. You should be able to get it as single sided or double sided tape. Take a piece of carpeting identical to the carpeting you have to replace, cut it large enough to replace the damaged section, and lay the new piece over the old - making sure the pile of the original carpet and the patch line up. You may find it easiest to cut the carpeting from the back side, or use a knife with a blade designed to cut carpeting (see the carpet store again). Hold the patch in place while you cut through damaged carpet, using the patch as a template. If you're uncertain, make the hole in the original carpet a little small and trim the patch to fit. Once the patch fits the hole in the original carpet, use the tape to fasten the patch to the original carpet (and to the floor if two sided). Get the cat de-clawed. ;-) Good luck with it.
- Q:The carpet rubber floor is glued to the floor. How can it be removed?
- With paper towels stained with some alcohol (preferably with industrial alcohol, not to use medical also OK) wipe, and then rub a few times on the clean.
- Q:I love my cat, but she will not stop peeing on my den rug. We clean it with all the special cat cleaners to get rid of the smell and then we even tried covering the area with tin foil because cats are supposed to hate that -- she just peed around it -- in a place she had never peed before! We brought her to the vet and there is nothing wrong with her health-wise. We even block off the room, but whenever she gets a chance she finds a way to sneak in and pees! It's infuriating. We have a baby on the way, so on top of the fact that this is so gross, we can't have a cat in the house who pees wherever she feels like it once the baby is born. Any thoughts?? We've seriously tried everything!
- Last year my beautiful Manx cat Theodore went out for the evening and never came back. I love cats and the house didn't feel the same without one, so I picked up Lola from a rescue centre. She was very frightened and would pee all over the house. I found Cat Spraying No More??? on the internet and the techniques worked almost immediately. I haven't had a problem with Lola since. Amazing! Can't stop your cat peeing in the house? Then worry no more...
- Q:I am repainting and decorating my spare bedroom and have a question regarding carpet and area rugs. The room has honey stained pine hardwood floors which I want to keep. I dont really want to have carpet installed in the room, so here is what i'm thinking. How do you think it would look if I bout a piece of carpet alittle smaller than the size of the room and put that down? Like 3-5 inches of hardwood still exposed around the edges of the room. Would this look weird? I want just a plain colored light tan carpet with a thick nap or shag like. Any body have this or seen it done? Also should I do something to the edge of the carpet to keep it from unraveling? Thanks for any help
- 1st of all what you are proposing is very common and works well. So, yes it's a good idea. Shag carpet works well for this because it gives you great contrast from the flat surface of the wood. You definitely would need to bind the carpet, so here is my suggestion. 1. Use blue tape to lay out your rug size and shape. Just put the tape around the room just where you want the rug to go. Don't be afraid to move the line in or out to work around features of the room. 2. After completing the above, draw the shape onto a piece of paper, measure the dimensions and add them to your new drawing. 3. Take your design to your local independent flooring store and have them help you select the right carpet. They will be able to give you a price for the material and the binding complete. You may want them to give you a price option on a felt backing which will protect your wood floor from abrasion. Or if you prefer you can by cushion or a slip knot rug mat to lay under your new rug. Good luck!
