- Good luck with that one. You could try buying a cat repellant spray but not all cats are offended by it. (Didn't work with mine) I just gave up after awhile. A spray bottle might do the trick. I taught my cats to stay off the table this way. I filled up a spray bottle (buy one from the dollar store, DO NOT use a spray bottle that has had chemicals in it) and every time your cats go on the rug spray them with the spray bottle. Works great.

- 2 differences, first you don't get precut yarn with rug hooking, you use a skein or ball of yarn, starting from the back with your hook on the top, pull the yarn through, making a continuous line. 2nd the hook in rug hooking does not have the latch over the hooky part. I did quite a few latch hook projects and tons of fun. I just recently learned rug hooking while on vacation. At first it is a little harder, getting a even tension and so that the pile of yarn on the top is all even and not splitting the yarn. - Well since you have patterns on your Duvet covers already, i think it best to get a rug that is plain. instead of going for patterns go for textures (e.g a shaggy rug) any light colour would go good such as beige, white, cream or even a grey stone colour to match the headboard, no pattern in my opinion but it is your room! - rug doctors work great! last time I rented one from the supermarket, it was 50 or 60 dollars (CDN) plus you have to give them a credit card number. by the time I bought shampoo ( I use vinegar as the defoamer) it cost 80 or 90 dollars total. how wet the carpet gets depends on how wet you make it--the machine gets most of the water out. if you plan on shampooing furniture and stairs, be sure to get the upholstery attatchment
